I Tried kolache factory today I heard some good things about it from friends and it's a place I drive by regularly and I've always even really curious about it, The server was nice, the spot was super clean and fast with my order. I got the Texas sausage it was decent, solid but nothing crazy. The Philly and the Millennial were both good, but they just needed some seasoning. It feels like there's no salt at all in them, and if they added just a little, they'd be fire. The chicken enchilada was easily the best one so far, full of flavor. The sausage and gravy was really good too. I also got the cinnamon twist? Amazing. It brought back childhood vibes for me. Overall, I'd go back for sure. I had never had kolache before but the friend I was visiting told me about them and we couldn't find any in Lincoln. We made a special stop here on the way to the airport so I could finally try them. First I ordered a couple fruit ones to go, to have a snack on the plane, along with a Strudelnik (which was incredible!). I thought that would be it because my companions couldn't decide whether or not they wanted to eat lunch yet. Turns out they did, so they ordered savory ones for us all, which they heated up. Those were ate right there. I got the cheese and egg and it was so good I immediately went back up and got a bacon and egg for the road, er, plane. These things are delicious, no matter what they put in them! I just found out there are two locations in Southern California and while I don't go there often, I will definitely be looking up The Kolache Factory next time I find myself there! read more

I have been wanting to stop here and try their products for a while now. I stopped in quickly and grabbed one of the biscuits and gravy kolaches based on the employees recommendation. Wow... It was delicious! I could eat those every day I feel like, especially with all the options they offer. I can't wait to go back and try a variety of different ones. What a surprise. Early Thanksgiving morning I found myself on the road and needed food and fast (as usual). I hit up my go to, Yelp. Rarely do the Yelpies let me down. The Kolache Factory popped up, before I walked in I was expecting a kolache like I have found out in central Iowa, an old school European type pastry (more like a danish). The factory is a wide open area as you approach the counter. The entire place was clean and organized, the young man behind the counter was super helpful and got me an order to go. The drive through and the folks running it were flat out jammin. Everyone was in good spirits too. My small order consisted of Cherry, Apple and a Strawberry Kolache. I also went with a Bacon egg and cheese "kolache". The bacon egg and cheese stuffed doughball was so good, that I almost went back for more. The Kolache Factory has good stuff to eat, the style of kolache isn't the old homemade style that I expected, but everything that I had that morning tasted very good and the staff were nice and helpful. I ordered for pickup and it didn't tell me until after I put in the order that it would be over an hour wait. Not too big of a deal since we weren't on a time crunch, but would've been nice to know before putting the order in. My family and I tried a variety of treats, my favorite being the mixed berry strudel nik. It was SO GOOD heated up, would highly recommend! I also really liked the cream cheese kolache. The poppy seed kolache was okay but had way too much filling in my opinion. If you eat in the restaurant, make sure to have them heat up any of your food for the best experience. read more

I came to love kolaches while I lived in Texas. I had never had them anywhere else, and when I left - no one had heard of them in the places I lived afterward. When I moved to Nebraska and heard that there was a Kolache Factory close to the hotel we were staying in while our house was being finished, I dragged my husband over the next morning to pick some up. This location is clean, and has a drive-thru. I haven't ever used it, I usually just park and walk in. The people working are relatively friendly, and there are usually a few options to choose from. I took off one star because they sell out of their more popular kolaches VERY early. If you come by even a few hours after they open, they probably won't have a very wide selection to choose from. This usually only applies to the savory options - which my husband prefers - but I'm a fruit-filling or sweet cheese girl so I'm always able to get something I like. I fully recommend the cherry, cream cheese, and apricot options. They're my favorite and go-tos every time I come in (and they're always available!). read more

There are a number of kolaches that are not regularly made, but can be ordered in advance for larger orders. If you have never had a kolache, it is a slightly sweet bread dough baked up and filled with a variety of ingredients. I really like the pepper steak. The Kolache Factory is currently drive-thru only, but, hey, totally worth it. My experience was quick and efficient, and I acquired a fun variant on the breakfast experience. I've had kolaches in the past (notably, in Verdigre, NE) and wanted to try a variety so I picked up three sweet and three savory ones. I really enjoyed all of them. The apple one even had slices of apple in it, so it had a good bit of texture. That said, I probably shouldn't have started off with eating the pizza one, but it was delightfully full of the red circles and just enough greasy for the taste but not enough greasy to get all over. The surprise favorite for me was the sausage and gravy one. It just worked way better than I expected. I'm thinking I'll have to grab a dozen next time so that I can share them. I read about this place when looking for a quick breakfast on Yelp for on our way out of town. The website had online ordering and since one review said they always run out of savory items, we thought it best to place an order for the next morning. We could not get our order placed so we called in the morning. When we got there, the shelves were full and there were more options than online. They even offered to warm them up for you, with the microwave just under the counter. I am shocked by the prices. I expected much higher for the size and amount of filling of each kolache. My husband is Polish and commented how his Mother's were a more flaky pastry. But the dough had the flavor that we knew as a kolachki. It was soft, sweet and tender, similar to Japanese pastries. We shared several flavors, eating them on the grounds of Jocelyn Castle and a couple of fruit filled to eat on the drive. The flavor of the month was called The Millennial. Egg, bacon and cheese with loads of nice ripe avocado. Outstanding! The fruit filling was of a high quality and gave me memories of my great aunt's pies from 50 years ago. I wish we had one of these by us. I wonder if shipping them would be just as good. read more

I had to go into work on this Sunday morning to fix a problem and on my way back home I wanted to pick up breakfast, and wanting to try this place since it opened, this was the perfect opportunity to try them. When I arrived there was only a car in the drive-thru, but after a while it started to fill in around 11:00. The place was very clean and they had a friendly person behind the counter that helped me make my decision with her recommendations. I chose the Sausage, Egg and Cheese to start, and was pleasantly surprised their condiment counter has salsa, which made this a perfect start. Next I had the Sausage and Gravy Kolache which was just like you wanted it. To top it off I had the Philly Streak Kolache which again was exactly what you would expect. I didn't order and drinks but they had several types of coffee, beverages, and soft drinks for anything you might want. While I was there a lady came to pick up an order that she ordered on the Internet. It is located on the SE corner of 84th and F St., easy to get to. Today is Mother's Day. I'm a Mom and I'm going to visit my Mom, so I thought this would be a great day to bring my Mom some kind of sweet treat. I've been wanting to try The Kolache Factory on 84th & F. I love Kolaches and I buy them all the time from the Lithuanian bakery, but I'm always willing to support local stores and give them a chance. On Facebook this week, a Kolache Factory advertisement kept popping up that said "Happy Mother's Day! One Day only, Sunday May 8th, Buy 1 Muffin and get 1 Free". I figured I would stop in and get a muffin for my Mom and also get some Kolaches for my family. When I got to the store at Noon, there was only myself and one other lady with two children in the store. Not too busy, and I was surprised since it was Mother's Day. A girl at the counter asked me what I needed. I decided to get 6 Kolaches (cream cheese, apple, and strawberry) and I decided to ask about the muffins because this was my first visit there. From where I was standing, I did not see any Muffins on display, so I thought maybe they sold out. I asked about the muffin special and I got a rude reply, "What muffin special? I'm not aware of any muffin special. I would have to see it with my own eyes to believe it." Okay......so while she was getting my Kolaches, I pulled up the muffin special on my phone. I showed it to her. She said, "Yeah, well, that special is for reward members only, and I'd have to write you up for rewards and you don't qualify." Well, at that point I no longer wanted muffins. There is nothing in the advertisement that says anything about being a reward member. It said stores in St. Louis were not participating, but I guess stores in Omaha were not either? I would have accepted a simple explanation of that. If you see an advertisement on Facebook, please don't assume that it would pertain to this store. There was no explanation on how to become a rewards member and why wouldn't I qualify? Very odd..... I was brushed away. I did take home 6 Kolaches that cost 11 dollars. The filling is good, but they are a bit bready when comparing them to authentic Kolaches. If I went to the Lithuanian bakery the price of six Kolaches would have been 7 or 8 dollars and they would have been more authentic. I was pretty disappointed and will not return. read more

I enjoy eating here for lunch and picking some extras to take home to my family. It's a small place, but very clean. The kolaches are displayed like donuts so you can pick your dozen to go. The employees are friendly and will help you choose if you're not sure what to get. If you want to stay and eat they'll warm your food up to exactly how you want it. They're not happy if you're not happy. Of course, the food is delicious. The bread is soft and there's not too much of it. My favorite is the buffalo chicken. I am so happy to have a Kolache Factory that is so much more convenient than the one out west. I find this shop to be very clean and the staff very helpful. I had one bad incident when I was there and it had nothing to do with the food. The food is so well made and staff are pretty aware of what it is. I was really impressed with the incident I had with a staff and when I reported my concerns to management - how quickly they responded and thanked me for making them aware. I am disheartened to write this terrible review. I have tried for ever a week to get a manager or boss to return my call I have called every day and was told the General Manger, Andy is never there or out ill. How can that be? I was there a week ago and when I got home I was missing half my order. I was too sick to drive back and get it. Bu, what was so surprising was I was the only one in drive through, it took 10 minutes and 3 employees were doing my order. How can it be missing things when So many employees were assisting. I called 7 times and was promised a gift card for the missed 5 items. I won't be back but thought I would give it to my kids. I never received the gift card. Left a voce message with their corporate number and NEVER heard back. So disappointing that they care so little about their mishaps. I had even tipped them 5.00. I would not go there just because of their lack of service in taking care of mess ups. The food is good though! read more
