Came on a Thursday at around 7:30 and was seated pretty much immediately. Waiter was nice and helpful. The restaurant is pretty loud since most of the tables are next to each other in the center of the main room, but it had nice lighting and a nice looking bar. We ordered the edamame, komè viche, and kome fries to start, the fries were really good and crispy and the wasabi aioli was really good too. The komè viche was nice and refreshing. For rolls we got the alone together and tarantula, the alone together was good and the tarantula was a bit too big and had really big pieces of spinach which were a little annoying. For nigiri we got toro, Hama-toro, sake toro, and Suzuki. We tried to get o-toro but they were out. The nigiri was really good as well. For dessert we got the sake kasu cheese cake which was really good. Overall everything was pretty good, but I would order more of the nigiri next time instead of the rolls.

Delicious! The picture doesn't do this any justice but I found this lunch amazing. Comes with a nice bowl of miso soup - flavorful and well balanced. The chicken skewers were well marinated and tender. I love that this bowl was popping with so many ingredients and flavors. This was my first time here, and found this service great. For a Saturday afternoon, it was pretty busy but I had no wait. Easy parking lot too! Check this place out if you love Japanese food. Large menu with a lot of variety. Great restaurant if your diners are picky eaters who either want sushi, rice bowls, ramen, or other Japanese food staples.

This place is poppin on a Saturday afternoon. We got the chicken karaage, summertime, trio and midnight sun. The chicken karaage was juicy and the pieces were pretty large. The summertime roll was very good. I really liked the sauce that was included with the roll. The trio was yummy as well, but I'd definitely order the summertime roll again. I like that they gave us a lunch menu on the weekend!

This meal was the best meal I had while visiting Austin! The alone together roll is top 5 best roll I've ever had, and I've had hundreds of rolls over the years. You can tell how fresh the fish is and how much care goes into the menu. Every bite was memorable. I will be back!

Loved this spot for lunch! Buta-kimchi was delicious- pork and kimchi combo can never go wrong. Also loved the gyu-don and the sushi lunch deal

So good, as usual! My fiancé and I came in at around 12:30 on a weekday. It was pretty packed in the parking lot so we didn't think we would get a table, but we were immediately seated at the bar. We both ordered the sushi lunch special. I got mine with the sunshine roll, which was tasty! All the fish is so fresh and basically melts in your mouth. Not pictured is the delicious miso soup that comes out before your meal. A 10/10 sushi spot and definitely not one to be missed!

Went here for my friend's birthday for dinner and everyone enjoyed it! All of the staff were kind and the restaraunt was a cute place for celebrations and dates! We all ordered rolls and shared with one another, including: nigiri set, spooky roll, superfly roll, rock n roll, and trio roll. we all split the takoyaki! for drinks my friends got i love yuzu much! and yuzu kosho margarita -- they loved it! all foods were very yummy! definitely will come back :)

Sushi lunch, hamachi was especially so good this day. Chutoro (unfortunately, they didn't have the Otoro) was soooo tender, rich, the rice was well made too, I overly satisfied. Service was decent, hope they can monitor the customer more frequently though they have many for hall to scan through. Ambiance sometimes quite noisy if you choose the wrong time, I went on Saturday around 1 pm, so there were quite a lot of families fill out tables. But that didn't stop me enjoying my good sushi. Yum!

We went on a busy Friday, not realizing it was graduation week. We were told that it would be a 30-40 minute wait but honestly did not feel that way. I ordered a yuzu flavored alcoholic drink and it was delicious! That might have something to do with why the wait didn't feel so long lol! Anyways we ordered the Kome set each (amazing), o-toro (it's been so long and it was worth it), nigiri sampler and the midnight sun roll. None of them disappointed and we left with a full tummy. Service was fast and our server was great! Loved the feel of the restaurant and felt very homey. Would definitely return to try other items.

Takowasa is not chewable, maki was good, karage was a bit dry. Overall okay place. Environment is chill. Good for family and friends. Service was nice. Will try more stuff next time.

What a great spot! Came here with some friends for dinner and there was no wait, which was great since it was 7:30 (prime dinner time), we got sat immediately! I started with a miso soup, and the kome fries, which were AMAZING i loved the honey wasabi aioli. Then came the nigiri and sushi, which was absolutely great- i got two salmon nigiris and 2 scallop nigiris which were all buttery and smooth, would 100% order again. Next i got the krab salad sushi which was just crab, avocado, and sesame seeds- simple, and refreshing. Everything came super quick, and the waitress was incredibly sweet. Loved every bit of the dinner! Would 100% recommend!

I love sushi and finally got to try Kome, which has been on my list for a while! They sadly don't take reservations so we waited for 30 minutes before we got a table. They do have a bench to wait inside but it quickly fills when there are like 5 parties ahead of you. I saw $$ on Google for Kome and I thought, shouldn't be too expensive. However, the portions are small so you end up paying a lot if you wanna be satisfied. The sushi tastes really good though! I would come back with a group to try more things We got: Nigiri set $20 Salmon box $20 Austin FC roll $18 Tempura zaru soba $14 Matcha parfait for dessert! $12 --This one was sooo good and unexpectedly huge. There is something like panna cotta on the bottom topped with matcha ice cream and mochi.

    Yakitori (~$12)
    Aya E.

Ordered: Murasaki Moya cocktail (~$15) Nihon Sakari No. 13 (~$13) Brie Tempura (~$12): 5pc fried cheese & honey Yakitori (~$12): grilled tare chicken & onion skewers Vegetable Tempura (~$8): kabocha squash, onion, shishito peppers, carrot, fresh grated ginger and daikon Alone Together Roll (~$22): tuna, salmon, yellowtail, topped with bbq eel, go-go sauce, eel sauce, tempura crunch Austin FC Roll (~$18): krab salad, tuna, avocado, eel sauce topped with avocado & black tobiko Spooky Roll (~$15): spicy tuna, avocado, salmon on top, go-go sauce Texas Surf N Turf Roll (~$15): steak, shrimp tempura, avocado, spinach, candied jalapeño, cilantro, sesame seeds, tx green sauce, eel sauce Aya's take: Komé offers traditional Japanese comfort food among some other non-traditional provisions so you will surely find something you like here. I started with the Nihon Sakari No. 13 which is served in a beautiful square wooden masu cup (which I've never experienced before). They give enough sake to where it overflows into the masu cup. It was dry, light, and delicate in flavor with hints of floral taste. As far as the appetizers, the only one worth getting is the Vegetable Tempura. It was fried to perfection and I absolutely loved the tempura shishito peppers. I could've had a whole plate of just those! All the sushi rolls were satisfying and loaded with ingredients and flavors. My favorite were the Alone Together Roll & Austin FC Roll. All in all, we enjoyed our last dinner in Austin!

It's located inside what I think is a mini golf place (or some kind of entertainment venue haha), and the restaurant itself is hidden behind a bookshelf like a speakeasy. I had never heard of the place before, but I thought the whole concept was SO cool. The omakase itself is incredibly intimate with only a handful of seats, which makes the entire experience feel really personal. Chef and his small team are all so warm and welcoming, and one of my favorite parts was that they actually encourage everyone to get to know each other throughout the meal. It ended up feeling like one big group dinner rather than everyone quietly eating their own meal. My friend and I were even watching the Super Bowl with everyone during our seating, which made the night even more fun! The fish was, of course, phenomenal. Every piece was prepared with so much care and precision, and you could really tell how passionate Chef is about his craft. I'd say the menu falls somewhere in the middle between a super traditional Edomae omakase and a more modern, creative one, which I personally loved. Everything felt incredibly thoughtful without being overly experimental. I also have to give a shoutout to their cocktail program because every drink we had was AMAZING! I don't even think there's a traditional drink menu. Instead, their bartender just asked each of us what kinds of flavors we usually like and created custom cocktails based on our preferences. Every single drink she made for my friends and me was SO good and paired perfectly with the meal. One thing to keep in mind is that each seating is pretty long--we were there for close to three hours! It definitely felt like an experience rather than just dinner, but honestly, the time flew by because everyone was chatting, eating, and having such a great time. It is definitely on the expensive side, but for the quality of the fish, the hospitality, and the overall experience, I thought it was absolutely worth it. One of my favorite little details was that the room is filled with Chef's personal belongings, books, and little collectibles, which makes the space feel so cozy and lived in. He genuinely welcomes guests to ask him about anything in the room, and you can tell he's just such a well-rounded and passionate person. More than anything, this was just such a FUN omakase experience!! If you're looking for something that's intimate, interactive, and a little different from your typical omakase, I can't recommend Toshokan enough!

There are 6 seats. My boyfriend and I had such a fun, personal experience. The staff were incredible--warm, engaging, and genuinely excited to guide us through each course. The food itself was delicious, beautifully crafted, and felt customized in a way that made the night feel unique to us. It's the kind of omakase that doesn't take itself too seriously while still delivering seriously good dishes. I also highly recommend the sake and cocktail pairing. The bartender customizes it based on your preferences. I told her my favorite drink is an espresso martini and she made this really fun espresso, strawberry latte concoction. There is also a special house sake with an homage to the owner's cat. I love those personal details. It's always a great time at Toshokan, and I'll definitely be back again. I've had sushi omakase before and what stands out about this one is that there's lots of fusion and spice (jalapeño, ginger, etc.) I actually wanted to come because I thought it was related to Pasta Bar, but it turns out the owners of Pasta Bar used to work here but split and created their own Scratch restaurants (Sushi by Scratch, Pasta Bar). Not related, but still really yummy! Reservations are needed and it's prepaid. There are other add-ons and drinks that you can pay for in person. They invite you to have a complimentary drink 30 min before the reservation-Silk Road-a mix of yuzu, sake, coconut, etc. Very smooth and sweet! I like it. We were seated with other couples and it's an intimate space (8 spots). Since it was our anniversary, we were the only ones that got a paper menu of what we ate. That was surprising as other omakases give everyone the menu regardless of the occasion. There are three chefs preparing the sushi, and the entire service was pretty fast. We spent an hour 30 min here. I liked that there was bottomless salad with seaweed and the like. There was one chef who kept refilling my salad, which I appreciated. Keep in mind, if I didn't keep on eating the salad, I probably wouldn't have been full. Another surprise is that there are no chopsticks. You wipe your hands with one towel and eat the sushi and salad with your hands. My favorites are madai (sea bream) and hotate (scallop). They have a smooth and smokey flavor. The great experience - the restaurant decorations and styling are modern and simply. We chose to do the 17 course omakase option and it was definitely worth trying! Since we were early to our reservation, we were greeted with complimentary cocktail -Silk Road, it was mixed with sake, coconut, and other ingredients. I don't usually like sweet cocktail but this Silk Road is really refreshing. On to the omakase, all the dishes are flavourful and it has its "own twist" (fusion). I normally don't enjoy fusion food but sushi bar has elevated it to the next level! I especially enjoyed the Hotate (scallop), A5 wagyu, and Madai (sea bream) - the scallop is fresh and lightly torched; A5 wagyu, no introduction needed, melted in your mouth; sea bream is flavourful and "smooth". Highly recommend giving sushi bar a try! It is definitely a great splurge for an occasional celebration.
