One of my favorite Miami restaurants. I love the ambiance. It's dark with dim lighting and red/black/wood seating. You can have a cozy romantic date night in a booth or go with a group of friend seated at a large table. As for the food, you can't go wrong with anything. I always plan to share the dishes. Order starter, roll, entree, and maybe a side dish of friend rice. Some of my go to dishes are the dumplings, kung pao chicken, and waygu steak. Server was great and attentive. For this review I will mention my recent experience (first week of January 2026) Reservations are a must as this restaurant is supper busy ! The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous- it is a bit loud but i personally love it. We had one bad situation with the hostess as they were trying to seat us in a two top on their second floor (completely fine). I had asked the hostess to use the elevator in which she replied "it's not a long set of stairs" so I went along with the stairs - however I would have preferred to take the elevator due to my multiple knee surgeries and prefer avoiding stairs. I would suggest if a customer asks to take the elevator it should be encouraged and not dismissed. When we got to the table it was crammed between two large parties making it difficult to pull the seats out and even more difficult to sit down. We went back to the host stand where the Maitre D' said there was no other tables available- I asked for a manager & was introduced to Prince who was professional and understanding of our situation- he had a table ready for us immediately !! You can't go wrong with anything on the menu! Their spicy edamame is a MUST order! I always order their blue fin nigiri & their spicy steak ! We also had their spicy veggies and fried rice as sides absolutely delicious !! Sides are good size about 2-4 people .. their peanut butter bar dessert is soooo good ! I accidentally stained my white dress and our busser ( Pierce ) supplied me with warm water and a moist towelette which completely removed my stain !! Komodo is the BEST Miami/Brickell restaurant !! The atmosphere at Komodo is easily one of the best parts of it. The space is large and well designed with modern Asian themes. For drinks I would highly recommend the Kung Fu. Great profile of taste and what could be better than sipping it out of a ceramic panda. My friend had the Saigon Sunset which had the smoky flavor of mescal if that is something you enjoy. For food: Steamed edamame- a little disappointing as there was no flavor. Could have used some salt. Shishito peppers- exceptional flavor. Mildly spicy. Highly recommend. Wild mushroom lo mein- great truffle flavor that is not overbearing Spicy beef filet- great sear and cook but lacking depth of flavor. Was looking forward to a little bit of a kick but you can't taste any red chili at all. Korean fried chicken- delicious. Definitely recommend over the beef filet Miso Chilean seabass- well cooked and flaky. Wonderful miso flavor. Vegetable fried rice- highly recommend for a side. This was just an ok dinning experience. I would categorize Komodo as a "trendy Miami resturant" for sure. While there were some dishes that were good like the Wagyu tacos, Wagyu skirt steak and the Crab lo mein. Others were disappointing- the vegetable fried rice and dragon roll. I also expected to be wowed by the service for the type of restaurant this was and the price point but even that was very mid. In a city like Miami where dining experiences are a dime a dozen, I was expecting Komodo to be a lot better. Appetizers: -Wagyu skirt steak tacos- the best thing we had, flavorful but portion size was super small -Money bag dumplings- nice presentation but taste wise, nothing special -Dragon roll-portion size was great but lacked in taste. A fun beautiful restaurant in Miami! We came here with a big bachelorette group on a Saturday night, and it was a fun time with a dragon that came out towards the end of our meal. We got some tasty dumplings to share for appetizer and a couple rounds of drinks. I loved the spicy jaja margarita and they call me Bruce cocktails. I shared the hamachi jalapeño, spicy bluefin tuna roll, dragon roll, and Brussels sprouts. These were all so fresh and tasty. Komodo, a well known Brickell staple that is known for their duck and elevated dining experience. I came in for a rare opportunity at Komodo, the ability to have a three course meal with drinks for about $100. The only time you're able to do this is through the couple of months Miami Spice is being offered. The restaurant itself is just as nice and beautifully decorated as advertised. With a beautiful outdoor space adorned with plants and a bathroom concierge as well. The wait staff is super friendly and welcoming. Every bit as professional as you can ask for at an upscale restaurant. The food, the food was ok at best. The best dish was probably the shishito pepper appetizer. The chicken and salmon entrees were fine but nothing amazing. I did enjoy the unique chocolate dumpling experience for dessert and the lychee mock tail as well. The reason for the three stars is that I left feeling a bit underwhelmed. It's a beautiful space with a high price tag but the food is just not good enough to justify the $$$$. There's a 73 year old salty entitled guy in the men's room trying to shake you down for money by turning on the water faucet and then they add 18% to the check hoping you do not see it and try to hit you up for more tip on top of that. We were super disappointed in our experience and would not recommend. We made reservations for 7:30 on a Sunday and showed up slightly early. We were promptly seated which I can appreciate. There were nominal guests in the restaurant which I think is important to note - maybe 5 or so other tables. The waiter came over and gave us some waters. I asked if he could make a signature drink with vodka vs. gin and he said it was premixed and could not alter it. He then walked away and never came back. We waited for 10 minutes then went to the host stand to ask for a waiter then waited two more minutes before deciding to leave. If you're paying top prices for fine dining, you deserve to have a fine dining experience. It ended up being a spectacular burnt toast theory because we walked over to Sexy Fish and had the tasting menu at the bar and even with the place completely packed it was 10/10 for both food and service. read more

Finally got around to trying Komodo! Walking in makes you feel like VIP and very exclusive as it feels almost like a hidden club. The front of the restaurant is the bar and check-in area. Checking in was difficult because there were a bunch of people in the way. Waiting for your table is madness, and the hostesses do not call out your name and instead come up to you by judging how many people are in your party. This process was messy and way too crowded. While waiting, we got drinks. I ordered the Pineapple Express. Not gonna lie this gave me heart burn between the pineapple and tajin, but overall not bad. The best drink however was the They Call Me Bruce. It was refreshing and easy to drink - you won't know you're drunk just til you stand up! The food was outstanding. The crispy rice lobster dynamite was phenomenal. Crisped to perfect, buttery, and the perfect size bite. The crab king lo mein was to die for!!! The portion is bigger than it looks too. The shishito peppers are perfect to share. They're charred to perfection and not overly salty. The cereal rock shrimp was soooo good. I recommend dipping the shrimp in the sauce and then coating it with the cereal after. Pro tip: save the cereal to top off your other food! The chocolate dumplings were unique and were essentially chocolate mousse. The feel of the place is yuppie and bougie. The place is riddled with snooty influencers and their sugar daddies and bachelorette parties, but hey that's Brickell for you. If you don't mind that, the food is actually phenomenal! read more

Had an amazing time at Komodo for a friends birthday!!!! This is a known spot in Miami and for a good reason. It is a tapas styled Asian spot with lots of different options. We ordered A TON of rolls and appetizers and all were delicious. This is the perfect spot for a big party but also an intimate date. We also got drinks from their large and unique drink menu. All the food and drinks were amazing and I couldn't recommend more. The interior and atmosphere was very open and beautiful. It resembled being in a tropical environment and I loved the placing of nature inside. It was dimly lit which makes it a nice atmosphere for dinners. It's a large space with both indoor, outdoor, and bar seating. If you sit at the bar it's an open kitchen view. The service was good. Our food came out quickly and everything was accurate. Wow! I was blown away by Komodo. Although you might be skeptical of any place that seems so "trendy," Komodo has definitely earned its reputation. The dining room is huge, and we were lucky enough to get to sit outside on the terrace--which was even bigger! There are multiple levels outside, and it almost feels like you're eating in the treetops. I will say the fans were at times difficult because it had our hair going wild, but the alternative is being super hot, so I'll take it! Our waiter Rafael was so friendly and helpful, always eager to chat and give tips--we felt like we had our own waiters' undivided attention although it was definitely super busy. As far as food goes, The Pikachu drink was a tasty tequila cocktail but I definitely mostly ordered it for the glass the edamame was a tasty course to start out with, but the main event, the Peking duck, was SO good. It was rich and flavorful and the accompanying sauce was a nice complement. The sea bass was also super tasty--it cut like butter and melts in your mouth. The wagyu fried rice was the sleeper hit of the evening--not to be overlooked. For dessert we had ice cream mochi which was a nice way to end the meal. Komodo is a brickell favorite. The lobster dynamite & the Maine lobster were my favorite dishes. I highly recommend. The ambiance is very nice and dark. They have a really nice bar that is also where people wait to be seated. Drinks were amazing. Service from server & host wasn't the greatest overall. Server was a no show after taking the order & nobody ever even wiped the table once, not even the bussers. Service at the bar while we were waiting was very attentive though.
