Best best best Sushi in Lehigh valley. Service is fully occupied at peak times. Salad dressing is superlative in modest and appropriate quantity and heavenly in taste. Other entrees such as soups vide salmon are extremely satisfying. As long as you don't select a peak time, service is attentive and always pleasant and professional. Don't believe anyone who claims there is better sushi anywhere else in Lehigh Valley. Having just returned from Japan, I can these folks have it nailed. read more

We have been coming here for years, & typically go to the hibachi side, but last night we decided to sit on the lounge/restaurant side and try it out. To be very honest with you the salads were great, but the main courses were not good and I would not recommend. I would go back to the hibachi side any day, but probably avoid the restaurant side unless I wanted sushi and was looking for a more Fine Asian experience. Service was mid. The place it self is nice, like it's one of the finer Asian fare restaurants in the Lehigh valley. I would only really suggest it if you were looking for a nice fine dining hibachi experience or a fancier sushi spot. read more

I hadn't been to Kome in nearly 10 years. Now that we're back in the Lehigh Valley, I wanted to see if it was as good as I had remembered. I'm glad to report it's still just as good! My husband and I went on a Saturday night (dining room, not hibachi) and just got sushi. We split a sashimi combo and three rolls--just the right amount. The sashimi was chef's choice with a great variety, and trying escolar for the first time was a fun surprise. We also added the real wasabi ($15 upcharge), which was totally worth it and a cool experience if you've only ever had the imitation stuff. Very disappointing experience from the beginning with a long unnecessary wait due. Our waitress (middle older aged Asian woman) was snobby, rushed, condescending and not at all attentive to us yet paid lots of attention to neighboring tables. Ambiance was nice but food was mid at best. My daughter who attends Lehigh U nearby chose this place & later said she regretted it and would go back to share highlights with her friends. read more

Shocked to come here and see that I have not reviewed this place. I have been coming here for years. Less frequently since my mom moved out of Coopersburg. This is hands down my favorite Hibachi place. Tonight our server gave us a Japanese beer that wasn't on the menu. He said it is specially made using medieval methods. I of course didn't try it but it was cool to get some history. So you can eat on the Hibachi side or the sit down meal side. I've done both. You also don't have to order hibachi at the grill if you don't want to. But like where is the fun in that? Today I got the calamari hibachi with fried rice. Way too much food but so delicious. Our chef kept putting butter on the grill and shouting "ice cream!" Then he would squirt soy sauce and say "coke a cola!" I hope these chefs are paid well because they are so talented. I love the salad and soup you get with your meal too. The desert was to die for. My wife got the 4 desert sampler. I got the green tea ice cream. I think this is one of those places that as long as we both exist I'll be going here. The non alcoholic cucumber soda was delicious. read more

I have to drop all of the stars bc I was completely disgusted with Justin, the assistant manage. He is very unprofessional. I think he might be a little green. I'm not sure he knows what he's doing. The GM is the person that is responsible for hiring proper assistance so that the restaurant can run smoothly but has FAILED miserably. They should fire Ken, the GM. BEWARE! Do NOT GO TO KOME. Just my professional opinion. I worked in restaurants from the time I was 14 years old until I was 26 years old when I finally got out of the really terrible industry that it is. The profit margins are super slim. As for the bartenders - pretentious & rude. The ambience needs an update. I live in Miami but come here almost 2 times a month. I used to come every single Monday & Tuesday when they had the best bartenders. Mazie is amazing but the other bartender is just terrible - they should fire her & bring back a good crowd again. I have been here probably 500 times. The food is delicious & generally the staff is professional except for JUSTIN, KEN & the bartender with all the tattoos. These people should not be working in the hospitality business. These people find jobs wherever they will have them. They could be friendlier especially for all the money I spend there - this is a DIVE. Management - ZERO stars for Justin & Ken. Had dinner here last night. I was expecting so much more from this restaurant. Food and service were well below average. The final straw came with the bill. Each of us was charged $5 for fried rice. Not EXTRA fried rice. The waitress when taking our order asked if we wanted white or fried rice... she made it like a choice but didn't mention the huge upcharge...I will never go back to this restaurant again and have told well over 50 people to do the same...can't believe they run their business in this fashion... I came here with my partner and his sister for lunch on Black Friday this year and was so very impressed. The dining area has a clean, elegant, and comfortable atmosphere. The food not only smells amazing; but I experienced some of the best flavor combinations when we got our food. We ordered several appetizers to share amongst us, and we did not regret it! Highly recommend Kome! Delois good and incredible chefs. My friend and I went a few weeks ago for hibachi. It was fun. We were seated with a very kind family with two young boys. They had the nicest manners I have seen in very long time. I think depending on who you are sitting with has a lot to do with a positive experience. It was loud in the restaurant. This is something that's expected. I think the noise bothered me more because of an ongoing ear infection. That's probably why I didn't give five stars. The acoustics seemed off. read more

The good: the food is uniformly great no matter what you order, and the staff is friendly. The bad: we went at peak hours on a Saturday night, so the place was very busy. 20 minute wait for a table. They forgot our appetizer. They had to be reminded we ordered special genuine $15 wasabi. We had a longish walk to our parking spot. Waitress visits were less frequent than one would want. All the little things that come with being crowded. But the crowds are testimony to the fact that this place is popular, and deservedly so. The service and ambiance were great as always. My main issue was the Sunset Roll. This is my 4th time getting this roll, and the previous times I've had it were phenomenal. However this time, for a $22 roll, I would expect the usual: a thicker cut of the (over)seared salmon, more crab, and a neater presentation. Instead, I got lots of rice, almonds, and left over pesto from the bottom of the jar :/ I've spoken so highly of Kome to my friends and local online forums for years. Outside and neighbor is in great location, right next to AMC movie theater. Parking is also convenient like in the mall. Sitting and atmosphere is clean and modern. Sushi/Sashimi combo was great for $130, compared with Philly. Sashimi cut was fresh and thick cuts. However, miso soup and salad were extra charge with every order and they were so so, so salty, I had to put three bowl of hot water so don't order them. Overall it was good but 14 people including 7 kids were little expensive for over $700. I don't know we will repeat here again. read more

Great restaurant. We ate in the dining area, and the ambiance was quiet compared to the hibachi side. So you do have two options of seating.. The bar area looked very nice too.. Our server was fantastic! All of our rolls and appetizers were so delicious. I recommend the calamari, it has 3 different dippings. The matcha salt is very salty but complimentary to the calamari & other 2 sauces. Their house saki cold is delicious. God I had high hopes and the little food we had was GREAT! However to be patronized by the manager on duty Justin who refused to give me his name after we sat at table for over 30 mins for food! When everything we ordered was mostly rolls. There were plenty of tables sat after us who received their food. I asked to be compensated after being told I still had more time to wait that that would not be happening! Me and my family walked out! I'm have eaten at fine dining restaurants across the USA and have never waited over 30 mins for food ordered in the beginning! Totally unacceptable!!! Solid shopping center sushi restaurant. Fish is good and generously portioned, and on our visit, was mostly of high quality. Salmon was excellent fatty and flavorful. The only one that didn't impress was the tuna, which was not at all off, just ok. At lunch, prices are quite reasonable, with a variety of sushi, sashimi, and hibachi sets. As is often the case, the chirashi was an excellent deal, with a thick layer of fish over slightly warm rice and some interesting seasoned mushrooms. Rolls are interesting, and not overly seasoned, you can taste the fish. They do also have a hibachi side and a more extensive cooked dish menu which we did not try this visit, but which experienced members of the party report are also good. There is a full cocktail list, which bends towards the sweet and tropical. Also sake, of course. They have a bunch of unusual Japanese beers, so that's a plus. read more

After waitress took our orders, we never saw her again. No one came to ask how meal was. We tried hibachi next time. Scallops were really good. Didn't care for filet mignon, which is something I normally like. Friend DID like their filet mignon. Fried rice & vegs were good. Did not care for soup salad comes with meal. Wanted to stay local to celebrate my dad's big 60th birthday. I'll let the pictures do the talking but wow, the food exceeded all of our expectations. The hamachi appetizer was a show stopper. All the rolls we got were stellar and noticeably different. Ever go to a sushi place and all the rolls blend together cause they recycle the same sauces over and over? Not the case here. Sauces are meticulously paired and distinct from roll to roll. My absolute favorite was the shrimp tempura. The shrimp was so plump, tender, and fried beautifully. Pro tip: you can order them by the piece! If you want something more gourmet and upscale (that's still affordable) and don't want to travel to NYC/PHL, definitely pay Kome a visit. Been here before for hibachi, was fine before. This time, for dine-in dinner, was initially seated slowly despite having reservation. Indoor heating was turned off for some reason despite outside being less than 10 degrees, everyone was wearing their coats indoors. Ordered the Surf and Turf, sashimi plate, and a roll - experienced errors with multiple aspects of the order from the server's side. Also did not expect a $44 "Surf and Turf" to literally be three pieces of meat, asparagus, bland shrimp, and stacked fries arranged asymmetrically. Even the ginger, a tangled blob, and radish were tasteless. The miso soup had the tiniest bit of tofu and a very little seaweed. Small salad was unremarkable. I would try something fried if I go next. Raw fish in Pennsylvania. No. Service was horrendous. Our waitress didn't smile once, at any of her tables. As we shared the table with another party, I noticed they were receiving more portions so I asked the cook for more meat, he was very rude and stated that the other party ordered more food. I lifted as is and even tipped him because food was delicious. As he left, the other party state what they ordered which was the same as we did. At this point I realized this guy was treating us different and really didn't feel comfortable. Due to this behavior, I would not recommend. I reached out to the restaurant directly the day right after but they've ignored the concern. Unfortunately that says a lot about this place and it's definitely not worth it. read more

This place has fantastic food and fantastic service. Went for a small private event with a limited menu but all the food was great. I assume the same would be said about all of the items offered. Steak is sublime, especially the aioli anchovy and wasabi sauces. Dumplings very nicely done. Miso soup was both rich and subtle. Very convenient parking. Easy to get to. If you are in the Allentown area you can find no better Japanese steakhouse. BTW a Japanese scotch is a must try for scotch lovers. Just ask your waitstaff to guide you. read more
