Was looking for a carpet cleaning quote- when I called the first time they quoted 200- their scheduler called back and wanted 260. Then sent me a follow up quote at 240 for a misquote and then a 3rd TIME was misquoted due to "stain" and additional closet they didn't record correctly. Wasn't about the money to us- more so the principle of being misquoted 3 times makes for a not good customer service experience. If your "techs aren't supposed to quote" then why did he? Jason did a great job with the carpet cleaning. Scheduling was very simple and they were flexible with a schedule change request. I had hired house cleaners to clean my house right before the carpet cleaning. The house cleaners accidentally loosened the water hose behind my fridge and didn't notice. Luckily, while cleaning the carpets shortly after the cleaners left, Jason noticed my fridge was leaking and let me know right away. Before I got home to see the damage, he had already re-fastened the hose himself and used his machinery to vacuum virtually all of the water that had flooded. The problem was instantly solved. I'm not going to say how great full I'm to this company. I spilled lime away,acidic cleaner all over marble countertop and from shiny beautiful black change it to white mat. I send them message in the morning and I got a guy, Jason, same day to do repair. Send same.message to maybe 10 other companies ,and they either busy or do estimate first and work later blah blah I needed same day or next day and the delivered. You guys saved ass :) Marble from full matt became nice and shiny, I had to polish it little bit after but I'm 100% satisfied and if anything like that happened to me again I know who to call. I have just small area rugs throughout my condo and everywhere i called wanted to charge me more than the rugs are even worth. I finally found a place that is not only affordable, but they come to you, give you five star friendly service and in and out within an hour or so with dry carpets. Heck i even threw in my bathroom runner since they made the jobs appear so easy and they had no problem adding that into the service. I live in condos so i thought it may be hard for them to take the carpets outside and clean but nope, they managed to find a spot and so quick, quiet and efficient no neighbors complained. Kona submitted a bid and I decided to let them do only SOME of the items on the bid. I had to insist they rewrite the contract to show ONLY the items to be done. I did not want to sign an inaccurate contract. They wanted almost 30% down payment which is against CA Contractor down payment (10 % or $1000 - whichever is greater ) and highly unusual. I am in a tight schedule, so, I signed and sent the 30% down. The NIGHT before the job was to be done they demanded the ENTIRE invoice be paid in full! Or they would not start. Or they could be paid as they arrived. WHAT? I declined and demanded my full deposit back since they had changed the terms of the contract - Bait and Switch. They breeched the contract and therefore I am entitled the the return of the deposit - IN FULL. I imagine that will be a struggle but I'll take it to small claims and report them to their licensing board. I see they seem to have many good reviews. BEWARE.I don't know anyone who pays 100% UPFRONT Before the job starts and before you see their work quality. read more
