    Jalapeño poppers.

Great local beer selection. It's a small bites snack place. Not dinner oriented. I had wings and jalapeño poppers. Wings had the best crust I've ever had in a fried product. Ever. 5 stars. Seriously. Only 5 pieces. I'd rather pay more and get more. Thank you! Poppers were also crispy , basic. But good. I'd eat both items again. Great service from a happy guy! Nice breeze through the bar. It's like eating in breezeway.

The vodka tonics in question we tried to drink them

Stopped by for a nightcap, but the experience was disappointing. The servers weren't very welcoming, and the vodka tonics we ordered were undrinkable--we aren't sure what mix or brand was used, but the taste was off. We ended up switching to bottled beer instead. Unfortunately, our waitress didn't offer to replace the cocktails or remove them from the bill. A quality establishment usually handles these issues automatically. Ended up paying over $30 for these two nasty drinks

I was staying at the resort and came here for my post conference drinks. The stay was amazing and helpful. Drinks (Mai Tais) and beer were great. I was so happy to get to visit the tap room.

Mexican Roasted Corn Dip $16 Jalapeño Popper $18 -April 2025

Only thing open past 10p when we checked in. The closest food option open was a 15 minute drive. Settled for the accessibility since it's right behind the check in counter at Waikoloa Village. The selection was lacking with only 8 pupus (appetizers) + 1 dessert. The portion was small for the price but expected at a resort. Highly recommend the corn dip ($16). The salsa was probably one from a jar, but the corn dip was so yummy! You also get a lot of chips. The jalapeño poppers ($18) were mid for the price. The breading was thick, not cooked through and slightly mushy. Wasn't bad, but not good either. Servers were quick and courteous. If you need a late night snack, not entirely bad. Can't recommend it as a meal. You would definitely need to order beer to help fill up.

Located inside the Hilton Waikoloa Village, this was worthy of a stop. The menu is very limited (including no kids options available). A full bar of Kona beers, cocktails, and wine available. The open air dining was lovely, you can choose inside or outside. Our server was the right amount of attentive and so sweet. We opted for fries to share, the pork sliders which were amazing, and a Cuban sandwich which was also delicious.

A great place for groups, since it is a bar must be over 21. There is a selection of seating (tables, bar, couch w table). The wait staff is fast and friendly. They had everything we wanted: good dark beer, healthy salad, water, and we shared- no problem. The portions of each was big enough to share (although we weren't hungry it was so good we wanted more). We could have enjoyed the chocolate cake - yummy- but they were out- a brownie was possible as a substitute. The hard kombucha sounded good too,- next time.

Just arrived at the hotel...hungry, thirsty and tired so we decided to check out Kona Tap Room. Got the brisket quesadilla, Caesar salad, Mai Thai, lava flow, caramel cake...the cocktails & dessert were definitely better than the main dish. The brisket had a lot of flavor but very dry, and so was the tortilla. The Caesar salad tasted like the prepackaged stuff from a grocery store. Our server was friendly and efficient...checked on us a few times and filled our water cup. This's a hotel restaurant and bar so the decoration is pretty generic but clean. There's even a stage for live entertainment.

Of course the prices are high, it's a resort but the food was good, the drinks were stiff and the staff was nice :-)

Great watering hole at the resort. Excellent beer on tap. Loved local brewery choices. Place humming on weekday evening. Service impeccable.

Visited the Kona Tap Room a couple of times while staying at the Hilton Waikoloa Village. The drinks were good, but the food was okay. I had the Kona Poke Nachos and wasn't a big fan.

They start serving Japanese-inspired foods starting 5 pm and they have nightly live music starting around 6 pm. Food was fine, nothing special, but the ambiance was wonderful and the nightly torch lighting + conch shell blowing at sunset happens on this balcony. ------ FOOD: * Smash Burger (4/5): Came with two patties and a slight skirt on the meat. Was a little simple though (i.e. no lettuce or tomatoes, though did come with one deep-fried onion ring and cheese). Fries were pretty good! * Luana Roll (4/5): This is their signature roll and I thought it was good but wasn't anything special. Probably not worth $30. * Double Crunch Roll (4/5): Again, good roll but nothing special and didn't particularly love it. ------ SERVICE: * Fine service, though the waiter took a long time to check in on our table. We weren't in a rush so it wasn't a problem, but it was strange. * Note that their kitchen is not located nearby and so the waiter has to go to a kitchen downstairs before bringing the food up. That means that service can be a little slower at times. ------ ENVIRONMENT / AMBIANCE: * Really nice ambiance. It's a balcony right off the main lobby where you check-in, and there are lots of comfy lounge chairs and small tables to match. The lobby and the lounge are both technically on the 3rd floor of the resort, so you can overlook the rest of the resort including the pool, beach, and ocean. * The live music at night is nice, both if you're dining at the lounge or just returning to the lobby area after a long day out. * There's also an indoor bar area next-door to the lounge with a pool table. The pool accessories are in rough shape (only 1 usable pool stick) but anyone is able to set up the table and begin playing. Despite being here during the holidays, this table was surprisingly available for most of our stay. * Every night there's a traditional Hawaiian ceremony where torches are lit at sunset and someone blows a conch in all directions. The conch blowing happens on this balcony, so if you're seated at the lounge around 5 pm, you'll have great seats of the short ceremony.

We came on a windier day, and the tiki torch kept getting blown out. The one closest to us was gushing out gas without a flame, and left an extremely heavy gas smell. We asked if they could relight it, and the first person said they'd get maintenance over right away. 20 minutes later, and getting lightheaded from the gas, I asked if they could turn it off if they couldn't relight it. The staff started getting defensive which I didn't understand, and told us that we were being unreasonable since the area wouldn't be lit up if there was no torch. I kept explaining to her that the torch was out, so we don't get the light anyways, but she wasn't listening to our concerns. Eventually another staff member came by, immediately understood, and finally turned off the gas for us so we weren't getting smothered by the odor. We ordered two cocktails and a spicy Kanpachi roll. The cocktails were mediocre, and one of them was not what we ordered. My wife asked for a blended cocktail and ended up with a drink on ice. The kanpachi roll was below average, with soggy seaweed and loosely rolled where it was falling apart while eating. I would skip on this lounge if you're looking for a place to eat and maybe even for skip and go elsewhere for drinks. We only tried one sushi roll, but after our experience we didn't intend on ordering anything else.

One of the best things about this property is how easy it is to get around. Unlike larger resorts where you feel like you're constantly walking from one end to the other, everything here is close and accessible. It creates a much more relaxed and cozy experience. The beach is also within easy walking distance, whether you choose to go left or right. Another major advantage is the location across the street from two shopping malls, both offering restaurants and shopping options. The convenience of being able to walk to everything is truly priceless. If I'm remembering correctly, the malls are called King and Queen, or something very similar. In one of them, there is also a grocery store that is impressive in its own right, with cooked food and a wide variety of items you might need during your stay on the island--or even if you are not staying there. I will review that grocery store separately in another post. Overall, this is a great choice for anyone who values convenience, walkability, and a more intimate resort setting.

Could wash my hair properly or flash #2 down the toilet from the first try. Hotel staff was nice: front desk, concierge, housekeeping. The restaurant staff is just rude (including older lady at coffee shop). We were served undercooked eggs with runny whites twice on different occasions, expired can of kombucha, undercooked inside but burned outside beef patty. For the price they charge it's disgusting. The water slide never worked the hours it supposed to be open. The worst part of a stay was flies infestation. You can't stay by the pool without like 5 of them on you at the same time. They also ruined the beautiful experience we had during sunset luau dinner. Which is the only thing I can recommend at this location.
