Konjo inside Edgewater Public Market opened a few years ago. They are on the east wall just inside between Lazo Empandas & Dumpling Spot. Edgewater was really buzzing. At least 1/2 the seats were occupied. Konjo has a straightforward menu, a traditional plate with injera or a bowl with turmeric rice. You can make it vegan or add beef, chicken or lamb for proteins. There are 4 veggies to choose. I got the rice bowl with chicken, Misir Wot (simmered red lentils) and Tikel Gomen (curried cabbage with potatoes and carrots). I added a side of Awaze hot sauce. Very fiery. Only soft drinks. I got Pellegrinno Essenza Tangerine water. Edgewater has a beer hall and a full bar nearby. There is a small kids menu and brunch is offered Sat/Sun with burritos until 3pm. They have a rewards program.

Came in the visit edgewater public market shops and got hungry. Ordered the lamb with rice, injera, and gomen with dinich. The food was lacking seasoning and meat was dry. The good part was that you can each component of the fish. Would not mind giving this place another try!

Konjo is a quick service Ethiopian restaurant in the public market. The positives: Konjo is delicious! I love the quality of the lamb, Injera, and spinach. Additionally, Ethiopian platters are typically large and require a large group to share. Konjo makes it possible for you to get individual servings. The negatives: while the traditional patterns come with all the vegetables, Konjo only allows you to order one side of vegetables. It isn't the same experience without the variety of vegetables in my opinion. However, if you wanted to order all the vegetables, it would be over $25 for your platter. The experience left me, wishing I had gone to a typical Ethiopian restaurant to order a traditional platter to share with friends.

I've been ordering from Konjo for as long as I've lived in Colorado. Even during the pandemic, Lamb/Beef Tibs was my go-to delivery. So flavorful and filling. Ethiopian food in Denver surprisingly slaps! I've seen their food truck at music events and believe this is how they started, so it's cool to see their food stall inside Edgewater Public Market. Check it out, and try something new!

Mimi is the sweetest lady and exceptionally customer service oriented. I'm a veggie, my service dog is not!! And I think she works 24/7 with a beautiful smile and warmth that beckons Mimi made me some OUTRAGEOUS garlic spinach over saffron rice, OHHHH YUUUMMMM, There are so many choices, I have added their menu and drinks in the photos. Oh the Market, and delicious Ethiopian food, not to be missed The entire team are AWESOME and very helpful with huge smiles, this is part of the "Public Market in Edgewater. Konjo is easy to find and has a great Kiosk as all have great signage displaying their goodies. The menu fits all spicey, yet not too much Ethiopian foods. Great place to try out several dishes. I did top this off, the garlic and saffron with some delicious FRESH SQUEECES ORANGE JUICE from Aphrodite owner of Saints and Sinners, she is a delight and can be met on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays. The Public Market is well thought through, as you exit, there is a "Recyle Bin" for all your waste, please recycle! There many Kiosks in the public Market, stay tuned I am writing up a few just for your mouth to water and zoom in. Cheers

For fast casual Ethiopian, Kongo is pretty good. However, they are not fast. Be prepared to wait a minute or two. I tried the bed ribs plate. You order via a kiosk. Cuts down on time and any misinterpretations. I ordered the beef ribs plate. I really enjoyed the injera and the beef tibs. The tibs had just the right amount of spice and they weren't too greasy. My two sides, the red lentils (miser wat) and the curried cabbage (tikei gomen) were fine. I personally prefer a bit more seasoning in both. The cabbage portion was twice as much as the others. I sort of wish I had also tried the yellow lentils (kik alicha), but it would have been too much food. In fact, I didn't quite finish. So, thumbs up on portion size. Altogether, the plate made for a decent lunch. The Milk Market location is a good choice for picky eaters because there are several dining options all in one space. I would consider trying Konjo again.

This was my first time eating at this public market and I quickly knew I wanted to try out Konjo since I've never had Ethiopian food. Everything from options, nutrition, and price point made this an easy choice. You order from a digital screen so you can take your time choosing and reading about all of the options. The combos are very customizable. I ordered the vegetarian combo which came with three choices, plus Injerna or rice. I chose the Miser (red lentils), Kik (yellow split pea), and the Gomen with Dinich (season spinach with potatoes) with the injerna. The red lentils are very spicy for my taste. Looking back I would have tried something else. My absolute favorite was the Kik and it was creamy, smooth, spiced, and very delicious. Probably the most familiar to what I've tried in other curries before. The most surprising was the injerna. Do NOT skip out on it. It's a bit tangy, sour, and a great side for the meal. It's a big meal. I was stuffed by the end instead of paying the same price for a sandwich somewhere else. Highly worth it and my top reccommended place to try out.

First time stopping by this gem! Service was super friendly and helpful! Food was fresh! Hot! Spicy (as they said it would be)!! And super fast! This will be my spot for quick Ethiopian food! Portion sizes were excellent! The chicken was perfectly seasoned! Highly recommend!

Do you still outdoor dining in the winter (on warm days)?

Yes we do! There is plenty of spacious outdoor seating, either under a large tent or under the sun!

The menu says that all vegetarian options are nut-free, but do the meat options have nuts in them?

    No nuts in anything!

As Lucy's is known for their stuffed burgers, I went with The Juicy Lucy and a half order of fries. The burgers are made with a 76/24 blend and stuffed with cheese, onions, and pickles. There are plenty of add-ons (tomato, lettuce, pepperoncini, bacon, even an egg), but go easy as these burgers are seriously indulgent and filling. The skinny fries were fabulous (you can't have just one). My order arrived quick AND hot. The burger was good and as promised, juicy. Definitely recommend indulging in a cocktail too. Lucy's infuses their vodka so check out the Cherry Spritz (it isn't quite as tart as the name implies) or the pineapple flavored Lucy's Spritz. Beer and wine are served as well as Pepsi products.

My wife and I popped in to try it out and got the classic stuffed burgers. The burgers were almost 20 bucks each with no sides, which would be fine if they were exceptionally tasty or high-quality, but they tasted as if they came from the frozen section at Walmart. The stuffed cheese was barely existent, and I was charged for adding lettuce and tomatoes. Wtf? The fries were good, but they were clearly from a giant frozen bag, so charging extra for them seems crazy considering the burgers were almost 20 bucks. When it was all said and done, we paid over 80 dollars for two mediocre (borderline bad) burgers, one side of fries to share, a Bloody Mary, and a cheap canned beer. We left with with a very bad taste in our mouth both literally and figuratively. The only saving grace was that the server was very friendly and nice. That's the second star. Also, we chose this place because we had some cash on the in-kind app, but when we went to pay, they said they had changed POS systems, so they were essentially engaging in false advertising. They did give us a drink coupon, but we won't be back ever.

All pointing to an excellent experience. The timing was right for my husband and I to come for a Sunday lunch. The service was fast and friendly. The Thali caught my eye as it's essentially a traditional platter with a variety of balanced small plates from rice to potatoes to dal soup and even dessert all on a single tray. I got it with Butter Chicken which was so good! Highly recommend as it was creamy, medium spicy, and very aromatic. I absolutely loved the street-style chaat! It's creamy, crunchy, cold, and loaded with flavors and textures. Such a satisfying bite and I almost couldn't stop until it was gone. I love that this Thali came with both rice & naan as I usually want both and can't decide lol! The rice was fluffy and aromatic from the cumin while the garlic naan was fresh, soft, and delicately brushed with garlic & parsley. I didn't care for the dal soup (bit too watery) or the jeera potatoes (bit undercooked) but the dessert was a nice way to end the meal. Their options included rice pudding and gulab jamun; I went with the "healthier" option lol. It was creamy, sweet, and cooled down my palate after the various dishes. The Lamb Biryani was another good try! The lamb chunks were tender and seasoned, the rice was aromatic, and it paired well with the onions and raita (yogurt sauce). This definitely satisfied my craving and I'm glad I stopped by before the long day I had ahead!
