Finally, a delicious sushi restaurant in fort mill! Not only was our food fresh, tasty, and the service great at Konnichiwa but everything was affordable and not overpriced. We are sushi snobs and usually have to drive to waverly or southpark if we want sushi, but no longer since now we have Konnichiwa nearby. We dined in on a Saturday night, and was surprised at the inside transformation of the former Zaxby's space to this modern and relaxing restaurant. First we ordered the crispy rice tuna appetizer which was HEAVENLY! Rare tuna over a fried rice square with some spicy sauce. We also got spring rolls and tempura shrimp which my kids enjoyed. Next came all of our sushi rolls. We got the black panther roll, highway 9, hornet, and beautiful fort mill roll. All the rolls were seriously so good! The seafood was fresh, and their menu had a lot of variety as far as sushi rolls go. They were very generous with the tobikko as well which is always a plus. To top it off the presentation of the food was beautiful, even including real flowers. Pro tip- They have their standard menu, but also a paper menu that lists the 'chefs specials' which included more gourmet appetizers and some really great sushi rolls. I'm not even sure it's washed before they cook it. It's nasty regardless. Maybe this is good enough for SC, but it shouldn't be. It's not hard to serve quality ingredients. The food was sooo good (and now officially my favorite crab Rangoon anywhere I've ever lived...) My family loved the sushi, etc and I loved the ribeye hibachi bowl. About a month ago, I ordered the shrimp tempura and it was awful. It was doughy and not cooked well. The batter was also heavy, unlike traditional tempura. Today, I tried the chicken katsu. Chicken was ultra thin and the katsu sauce was not katsu sauce at all. It was a watery, overly gingered teriyaki sauce. That was a huge flop.
