Love Osaka for lunch! Lunch menu has many options. Parking is plentiful, their sushi is very good. Their menu has something for everyone in your group. Menu is fairly priced.

The Aesthetic: Clean, calm, and classic sushi spot. It's decorated elegantly, it's not too over the top. The Price: The average price for sushi in Charlotte, not too cheap, but not expensive! Right in the middle. The Value: I was very full after 2 rolls and a hot tea, you get enormous rolls for what you spend! The Parking: It's in a shopping plaza with plenty of parking, your walk won't be far. There were barely any cars on the Saturday when I went early, but the restaurant got packed as I ate. My Order: The Jaybird Roll (tuna, cream cheese, avocado) and The Hidden Dragon (tempura shrimp, eel, cream cheese, topped with salmon, avocado) were both amazing. The hot green tea was a great addition. The Conclusion: If I lived in the Matthews area, I'd be here every week. Now I need to consider my next move!

Selection of Nigiri: eel, tuna, salmon, red snapper(I think), and yellowtail to the left.

The staff here are always super fast and friendly! My favorite appetizer is the Spicy Tuna Fried Crispy Treats. The sashimi and nigiri are excellent cuts, extremely beautiful and decadent!

Osaka is going through renovations but it is looking good so far. The edamame and gyoza were really delicious and a great way to start our meal. I recommend the hibachi here it is delicious. The sweet carrots are really yummy! The sushi is decent, but I will get hibachi when we go back. The rolls had too much sauce on them (see pics). The service is fast and everyone is very friendly! There are really good lunch specials as well.

Since restaurants have reopened for takeout, I have heard several complaints from people on what they find in their bags when they get home (hot food too cold / cold food too warm / smaller portions / etc.) I understand we're in a pandemic and some businesses have lost momentum, but this place never falters. Osaka Sushi in Matthews NC has always and continues to take pride in what they serve you

Mister Tokyo delivered exactly that kind of danger today, the good kind, the kind where you already know you're going to waddle out the door but you don't care because every bite is worth it. The service was friendly and warm from the start, the kind of easy hospitality that makes it simple to settle in and start ordering without feeling rushed or judged. My waiter brought me a menu without hesitation and never blinked when I ordered another plate and then another, just kept the rhythm going with a smile and the kind of quiet efficiency that makes the whole experience feel smooth and relaxed. I worked my way through seaweed salad, nigiri rolls, sashimi, chicken katsu, and even a few hand rolls because sometimes you want to feel a little fancy while you're stuffing yourself silly. Everything was prepared well, everything arrived quickly, and everything tasted fresh and clean, which is exactly what you want when you're committing to a long lunch of steady grazing. It was all really great and I loved every bit of it. Five stars for Mister Tokyo. [Review 176 of 2026 - 4562 in North Carolina - 25365 overall]

The shocking realization when the employees barges into your bathroom stall to change toilet paper…read more That their employees don't care about your privacy while in a bathroom stall peeing. Tried using the handicap stall with my cane i didn't want to also dirty it handling the stall handle. Never should be a issue. Not until their employee LITERALLY PUSHES AGAINST ME while I am mid stream. PUSHES me at my hip/belt to push me OUT OF HIS WAY so he could unlock and change the toilet paper!!!. Shocking isn't even the right response. When I turned around and asked wtf he actually tried to keep working in the stall and since I turned sideways I gave him the space he was trying to force to open the toilet paper. It wasn't until the shock wore off that I yelled at him thst he finally stopped. Than just acted as if he was clueless about the situation. Managements single response when told them what happened was "well he doesn't speak English" you DO NOT have to speak ENGLISH or ANY language to know you do not stick uou hands around and into a person's private parts just because you don't want to wait 1 or 2 minutes to change toilet paper. The sheer fact that that was Managements response was so shocking and utterly baffling thst its why I am writing this now. There was no expression of shock on Managements face, no sense of urgency or reprimand. Nothing but "well he probably didn't understand what you were saying".... what I was saying? I guess according to Management its okay for their employees to bargain into a ladies stall while their using it to change the toilet paper. Because they don't speak English than just how do you expect the person to know its not okay to do... Simply put just disgusting

Pretty good size shopping plaza and it's a standalone building. Don't have to walk thru the plaza dealing with people. Park and walk right in. For me, service is what made it just an OK experience. It was a little late for dinner but the restaurant was still open. I understand the side work for closing as I've been in the field before but if you have a table, it should be a focus on the guests not the other way around. There was a mix up on the bill and the annoyance on her face seemed as if she felt it was my fault. But she did fix the issue almost seeming begrudgingly. I'll also mention that I had to flag down other staff for refills, as well as the bill. And you know how it goes - one thing is off and it makes for a forgettable experience. But I will say that dinner was fine. See pics. Can't complain about prices or portions but when I was annoyed, I was just eating to eat. I don't know anyone out here whose tastes for Sushi/Sashimi aligns with mine so it's hard to say whether I'd go back or not. First, obviously I don't live there and second, more places I'd probably want to try before I go back for service like I experienced that night. But it's probably not likely
