Unprofessional service & order cancelled right in front of me I placed an online order at 9:26 PM for pickup, well before their posted closing time of 10:00 PM. The ordering website was fully active and accepted the payment without any issue. I arrived at the restaurant at 9:33 PM to pick up my food, only to have an employee sitting in a booth come up to the window, tell me they were closed, and claim they cancelled my order. My order was never actually cancelled in the system. Rather than providing any explanation or helping resolve the issue, the worker ran off, shut off all the lights except the kitchen, and left me completely in the dark about whether I would even receive a refund. If you choose to close early or whenever you feel like it, turn off your online ordering system and stop taking customers' money. Extremely unprofessional behavior and terrible communication. 2 stars so this review won't get deleted by the business but id give 0 stars for this experience and definitely won't come back.

I try not to give low reviews so not to impact the business, but this unfortunately was not very impressive. I ordered the Tonkatsu Ramen and was a bit disappointed. Although the food was okay everything about it speaks low quality in terms of the noodles, pork, eggs, and broth was flavorful, bit it was lacking a bit of spicy and the only spicy sauce they had was Sriracha. The pork in the broth was overcooked and difficult to chew. The noodles almost taste like the texture of a cup of noodles and egg was light yolk. The server was probably the best part of the experience. The place was clean and parking was plentiful. I know lemon Grove only have a couple of Japanese places to eat at so we want to support businesses here, but for someone who is a big fan of ramen and an avid eater of ramen, the taste was not quite there. The restaurant was nice and clean with plenty of options on the menu. Overall this place is good for a quick last min bite if you have limited time and less options.

Amazing sushi and wonderful service at Tuna Sushi & Grill! Raul, the cook, was so kind to stop by our table and share his recommendations, and Giselle was incredibly sweet and attentive. Great food and even better hospitality. We'll definitely be back!

My family and I have enjoyed Tuna Sushi in Lemon Grove for many years since it opened! The food is always excellent and they have lots of creative menu items like a sushi burrito and sashimi salad! The famous Lemon Grove sushi roll is a favorite!

    Lemon Grove Roll

Me & my girlfriend are huge sushi enthusiasts, and this place did not disappoint! The quality of the tuna sushi was absolutely top-tier fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. We also have to give a special shoutout to the Lemon Grove Roll.Service was just as impressive as the food. Our waiter was the best super attentive, friendly, and made the whole experience even better. Hidden Gem for sure!!!!

Ripoff city! Do not order here if you're hungry. I spent about 100$ for one serving of food. Smallest rolls I have ever seen for the price. Do not order the protein roll or sashimi for 18$ a piece. I ordered 4 rolls, sashimi and edamame, thinking it would be good for two people...definitely not. Other sushi places charge about 7-10$ per roll for comparable quality, portion and ingredients.

    Lemon grove

Service is quick and friendly, I tried a few of their sushi rolls and their ramen. My favorite sushi roll is the lemon grove, the fair is delicious! The sushi burrito in the appetizer section is also very good, it comes with a home made dipping sauce/salsa that makes the burrito have a unique delicious flavor. Those two items are the reason why I'm giving this place a 4 star, now the ramen... not so good. They add a plain unseasoned boiled egg, the noodles are good and the meat was ok. I wouldn't buy the ramen again, I hate to say it but it was not good. But other than that I would recommend this place and I keep coming back for the lemon grove roll. I also like that they have a huge TV and they usually have a movie on, feels like I'm at home relaxing having sushi. I almost forgot, in my opinion the portions are big!

I normally don't believe comments stating the local restaurant is so over the top great. Well, this one is a sleeper. Outstanding food. And the popcorn lobster roll? Well look at the picture. Will be back for sure.

This is a "hole in the wall" gem! Don't be discouraged by its location because it's actually really good and fairly priced. My daughter and I ordered the regular Philadelphia role, ceviche roll, lemon grove roll, hamachi maki roll, and crispy rice. All the rolls were delicious! If you are going carbless, they have a good amount of protein rolls, and their crispy rice was HUGE! I've never seen them in that size and it was GOOD! Going back soon!

This is our go to Sushi spot. The team is amazing and they are always offering new options to try through their specials. We really enjoy their menu and the service staff is always on top of our needs, often before we ask. The restaurant is reminiscent of most sushi restaurants I visit, with a nice selection of fish decor on the wall. The selection of drink options compliments the menu well.

Tuna Sushi is such a hidden gem! We've been here multiple times and are never disappointed, the fish is always fresh, the rolls are creative, and the sushi chef in the corner is absolutely killing it every time. Friendly service, cozy vibe, and consistently some of the best sushi around.

I am unsure if they are all family but one of the workers daughters was also running around and helping out/interacting with the guests. I'd come back here just based on the positive vibes alone. Besides the service though I ended up ordering a spicy basil with chicken and I did not realize they'd give out the rice in a heart shaped but I thought it was nice touch. The dish overall was solid; good amount of spice, plenty of meat//veggies and a flavorful sauce that complimented it all. One of the workers also came by and just randomly gave me a Thai tea and said it was on the house. The Thai tea itself was good as well, just the right balance of milk, sugar and tea. If I still lived near SDSU I would definitely return here!

So we decided to try the new Tappi Sushi that newly opened at the old Oyster and Pearl Bar restaurant location. On the way there we passed Kawaii Sushi and thought we'd give it a try instead. It was about 6ish when we sat down so we had almost an hour before HH ended. Cool! I appreciate later HHs...so that's a plus. We ordered the Garlic Edamame, Fried Calamari, Gyoza, and Eggrolls off the HH menu. The server was nice and attentive. The appetizers came out fairly quickly. We then ordered 2 sushi rolls once we got the apps. I unfortunately had nothing good to say about any of the apps we got. See my comments in each pic. I hoped the rolls would be better but they really didn't win us over either. Boo! Once we got the bill we realized we didn't know what was so 'Happy' about the HH....there were no prices on the HH menu. I looked up the prices on website and compared them to the bill...at best it was like $1 off each appetizer but not all of them despite the fact that the items were specifically on the HH menu. Deceiving! Anyway needless to say we won't be going back and my true rating is 2.5 stars but yelp doesn't let me do halfsies. Sayanara Kawaii Sushi.

At first, she said the order only could be done on 1 bill. And then later she compromised with 2 bills, 5 people per table. That was nice of her! I just had 2 coffees before entering so I decided to skip ordering Thai tea. But they had a large drink menu, of fruit teas and more. My friend had the lychee tea which was very large and looked super refreshing! They also came by often to top off our waters which was nice. To eat, I ordered the $16.99~, Cashew Chicken Stir Fry with White Rice. It came with onion, green onion, carrots, zucchini, bell pepper, and cashews. The carrots were beautifully cut, but a little too crunchy for me to properly enjoy in the stir fry. Everything else was delicious! I think this could definitely be shared between 2-3 people. It was a lot for me, even after a large hike. The sauce was flavorful and not overly salty. I didn't ask for any spice level, but I think I'd choose mild or medium next time. My friends ordered-- - $12.99, Dirty Fried Chicken: This had a blitz coating of lime, mint, and spices. And it was decorated with thinly sliced green onions with a side of sweet chili sauce. The chicken was hot and plump, not dry, and very much mouthwatering! Would recommend. - $14.99, Thai Grilled Chicken Salad: Grilled Chicken Breast on a bed of mixed green salad, carrots, and cucumbers with peanut dressing. It reminded me a little of chicken satay~ it smelled and looked incredible. I think I might order it next time, when I want something light and fulfilling after a hike. - $11.99, Cream Cheese Avocado Wontons (6PC): These came out piping hot and when you took a bite they were oozing. It was very creamy and when you dip into the plum sauce it's a delectable bite. A nice appetizer to share with the table. - $16.99-$19.99 (depends on what protein you get), Pad Thai: This proportion was manageable for one person. The restaurant used thin rice noodles, but it didn't clump excessively compared to other restaurants. The prices are what you'd typically see at a Pan-Asian restaurant, a few dollars more than what you'd want to spend. But these kinds of restaurants, in my opinion, are for enjoying with others. So, if you're sharing food and all that-- the price is worth it (esp with the quantity that is given). Next time, I would probably order one of their noodle dishes rather than rice. Oodles by the Noodbar has such a large and diverse menu so I would highly recommend coming in to try them out.

The one thing I did not care for was the dipping sauce. I believe the menu said it was a peanut sauce but I was personally not a fan. It tasted more like a coconut curry sauce. The place is always clean and usually not very loud. I recommend you stop by if you are in the area.

I was born and raised in LA, so I've had a lot of Chinese food growing up, and I wasn't expecting to be this surprised--but I really was. I ordered the black bean eggplant and the salt and pepper chicken wings. The wings are what they're known for, but I have to start with the eggplant because it completely caught me off guard. It wasn't mushy at all--crispy on the outside, perfectly cooked on the inside, and coated in sauce without losing its texture. Every bite had depth and balance, not just saltiness. I actually meant to start with the wings, but the eggplant was so good I ended up eating half of it before even getting to them. By that point I was already getting full, but I still made sure to finish the wings--and I'm honestly excited to take the rest of the eggplant home as leftovers. By the time I got to the wings, I understood why they're popular--crispy, flavorful, and super satisfying--but what stood out to me was how both dishes complemented each other. One rich and layered, the other crisp and bright. I never got tired of eating, which honestly says a lot. I even told the staff how much I enjoyed the food and they thought I was joking, but I meant every word in saying I thought it was comparable, if not better then the food I've had in Chinatown in LA.
