Came for lunch a week ago and just now getting to the review. It's located in a little bit of a sketchy spot IYKYK. But we were greeted immediately when we walked in and the server took our drink order and appetizer right away. We had some edamame and calamari, now I will say the French fry look of the calamari threw me off, but it was delicious. We ordered a lobster roll, crunchy roll and rainbow? Unprofessional service & order cancelled right in front of me I placed an online order at 9:26 PM for pickup, well before their posted closing time of 10:00 PM. The ordering website was fully active and accepted the payment without any issue. I arrived at the restaurant at 9:33 PM to pick up my food, only to have an employee sitting in a booth come up to the window, tell me they were closed, and claim they cancelled my order. My order was never actually cancelled in the system. Rather than providing any explanation or helping resolve the issue, the worker ran off, shut off all the lights except the kitchen, and left me completely in the dark about whether I would even receive a refund. If you choose to close early or whenever you feel like it, turn off your online ordering system and stop taking customers' money. Extremely unprofessional behavior and terrible communication. 2 stars so this review won't get deleted by the business but id give 0 stars for this experience and definitely won't come back. read more

I try not to give low reviews so not to impact the business, but this unfortunately was not very impressive. I ordered the Tonkatsu Ramen and was a bit disappointed. Although the food was okay everything about it speaks low quality in terms of the noodles, pork, eggs, and broth was flavorful, bit it was lacking a bit of spicy and the only spicy sauce they had was Sriracha. The pork in the broth was overcooked and difficult to chew. The noodles almost taste like the texture of a cup of noodles and egg was light yolk. The server was probably the best part of the experience. The place was clean and parking was plentiful. I know lemon Grove only have a couple of Japanese places to eat at so we want to support businesses here, but for someone who is a big fan of ramen and an avid eater of ramen, the taste was not quite there. The restaurant was nice and clean with plenty of options on the menu. Overall this place is good for a quick last min bite if you have limited time and less options. read more

We just found our go to sushi spot! We live in Lemon Grove so you know there is usually nothing around there so we were pleasantly surprised when we found this "hole in the wall" spot. Apparently they have been open for 8 years. I can see why, the sushi was FIRE. We got 5 rolls for 2 people but still didn't think it was expensive. We paid $98 for 5 specialty rolls, a sake and a large beer (not including tip). Will definitely go back. There seems to be a lot of locals that come in. Our waitres was super sweet and asked if we were new around the area (which we are). We went Saturday around 7pm and the service was quick and easy. Unfortunately the place does look a little sketch but don't let that fool you. The people and food are amazing. They do not offer Happy Hour at the moment. read more

Service is quick and friendly, I tried a few of their sushi rolls and their ramen. My favorite sushi roll is the lemon grove, the fair is delicious! The sushi burrito in the appetizer section is also very good, it comes with a home made dipping sauce/salsa that makes the burrito have a unique delicious flavor. Those two items are the reason why I'm giving this place a 4 star, now the ramen... not so good. They add a plain unseasoned boiled egg, the noodles are good and the meat was ok. I wouldn't buy the ramen again, I hate to say it but it was not good. But other than that I would recommend this place and I keep coming back for the lemon grove roll. I am giving it a 4 because I got a Rib Eye roll and the meat was mostly raw. However, the rolls are a GREAT portion for the price. 18-23$ a roll but its a big roll. They definitely have a variety of rolls that I absolutely want to go and try a lot. I had 3 rolls and the other 2 were soo good! First impression: I am so sad my first time going here didn't go as planned!! I'm new to the area and was really excited to see a sushi restaurant right down the street. It took my order about 55 minutes to be finished when the original quoted time was 30 minutes. Service isn't amazing and I think it's due to the restaurant only having one sushi chef and one cook in the back (at least when I ordered). The restaurant really is a hole in the wall sushi place and the parking situation is not the best either. Food impression: The sushi was slightly higher quality than grocery store sushi which I thought was worth it for the price. The size of the rolls are fairly small and the cucumber roll was somehow even smaller?? The chicken fried rice was okay not amazing by any means. My biggest issue was the tonkatsu ramen. I am a really big soup person and it takes a lot for me to not enjoy a bowl of soup. The noodles had the thickness of udon and were so severely overcooked they wouldn't hold their shape. This would make sense if I was reheating the noodles but I literally put them in a bowl as soon as I got home with my order. The broth it self is mid, I've had instant ramen with better flavored broth. ON A GOOD NOTE THOUGH... the tempura was fire and I really enjoyed the seared albacore roll once I added my own sauces (from home bc all the rolls were bare). The fish tasted fresh in my opinion and none of us had an upset stomach after eating TLDR; Hole in the wall sushi place that is severely understaffed with questionable parking. Rolls are small especially the cucumber roll. Rolls had grocery store sushi vibes with the size/quality. Do not order the ramen unless you like soggy (was udon not ramen) noodles and okay tasting broth. Tempura was fresh and delicious. Fried rice was whatever. read more

Came here on a Saturday night. They have a parking lot which makes parking easy, big bonus! It's kind of in the middle of nowhere in Lemon Grove but the sushi is so delicious and fresh here! The Customer Service is excellent, we were greeted when we walked in and then you just seat yourself. The waitress we had was attentive and suggested her favorites. I got the spooky roll which was a special for Halloween that had habanero, tuna, and shrimp tempura, it was tasty. My friend doesn't eat fish so she got the teriyaki chicken roll, she loves it. we also got some vegetable and shrimp tempura and pork gyoza, both were fried to perfection. This review has been a long time coming. I've been coming to this sushi spot for years now. To the point where the staff actually knows me and my order. The staff since day one has always been friendly and welcoming. They're very attentive and they show they care about the customer and their needs. They have a very wide variety of sushi rolls and other food. Although it is a smaller spot I prefer going here than bigger name, sushi spots known around town for two reasons. The quality and the pricing. Although the pricing isn't the best, it is on the more affordable side and the quality I would have to guess is top-tier. The chef prepares the food promptly and accurately. It's a great spot if you want to take your date to a quick sushi spot that will both satisfy your taste buds and your satisfaction. I'm here at least once or twice a week to pick up an order to go. Occasionally, I sit down and eat. Again, sorry to the staff that I took so long to write this review.
