Sister restaurant to Konban. The place has a front dining arena and a back dining area with a lot of natural light like an indoor garden. Good place for large parties too. We got a variety of dishes to share between 5 people. Kampachi crudo - MUST GET! Love the different texture and refreshing flavor Corn rib - classic, what they're known for here and at Konban sister restaurant Ube tiramisu - don't skip out on this dessert Not the biggest fan of their noodle dishes/ravioli. Overall would go back again

Found out this new Japanese and Korean fusion restaurant and we can't wait to try. Food is delicious and service is great. The decor is simple and clean. However we saw other tables have welcome drink and snack but we don't. I thought we are not very welcome. -_- We asked them and we had it at the end of the meals. Kind of disappointed with this. Otherwise all is good.

Just opened sister restaurant to Konban, Konya has a varied menu across fried food, fresh fish, pasta and more. The space is a bit smaller and more intimate. Menchi Katsu was delicious. It was nice and crispy but sat on a bed of sauce that really blended well, adding a touch of spicier and a light saltiness from the caviar. The kanpachi crudo was well made. Light flavors balanced the fish beautifully. Gambas were also quite delicious and a good twist on the classic dish. Adds almost a nice extra savory touch to the classic garlic and oil flavors. The kalgooksoo was the worst, I'd pass on this dish. It's not any better than what you can get at many Korean restaurants in the city and the light touch of caviar on top didn't change that. Overall good service and good food. Staff was friendly and accommodating.

Went to Konya last week for date night and had a good time. They didn't have their liquor license yet so we had tea, am excited to return and try the full bar. We had ordered the tuna uni taku sari, edamame hummus, pork loin katsu, yaki chicken and the kalgooksoo pasta. Some dishes were phenomenal- tuna uni taki sari and edamame but some were misses- don't think I will be ordering the pasta again. My partner is not a huge fan of dessert but he inhaled and loved the ube tiramisu. It still feels like they are figuring stuff out and we can't wait to be back to see them become a WBurg staple.

Visited Konya last night and left thoroughly impressed. This Korean-Japanese fusion spot in Brooklyn is the real deal. The food was the star of the evening. We ordered plenty of dishes to share, and nearly everything landed. The tuna sandwich is a must-order -- served between rice cakes instead of bread, it's a clever and delicious twist. The shrimp and corn were both excellent, and the pork loin was probably the best I've had anywhere. Save room for the ube cream dessert; it alone is worth the trip. The ambience is great and the service matched it -- attentive and warm throughout the night. Konya is the kind of place you leave already planning your return visit. Highly recommend.

i've been hearing about this spot on social media and couldn't wait to try it! It's located near domino park in Williamsburg which can be a nice little stroll before or after you eat here. The portions are sized well and it's exactly what you're looking for if you want something light yet filling! I would definitely recommend to check it out if you're in the neighborhood. My favorite was their Tuna Uni Taku Sari and the Spicy Tuna Sandwich.

I love Konban and was excited to hear about Konya opening. We were able to walk in for dinner on the first weekend. The service was friendly and attentive. The tables were a bit close to each other. We got a bunch of dishes to share. The portions are small, and on the pricier side, but the quality and taste of everything is great! We ordered the tuna uni taku sari, pork tenderloin katsu, jjajang prawn gambas, gomtang ramyun, snow white dessert, jasmine mule mocktail, and hibiscus greyhound mocktail. The katsu tastes the same as konban! My top items that I would order again are the katsu, tuna uni taku sari, and the jjajang prawn gambas.

konban was my favorite neighborhood gem when i was living in chelsea, so i was absolutely overjoyed when i heard that konya, its sister restaurant, was opening in my new neighborhood! the space in williamsburg is smaller, but more intimate. the food here is just as good, if not better. we tried the following: - soy butter scallops - delish just wish it came in a larger portion! - pork loin katsu - as good as i remembered - clam ravioli - BEST dish of the night - spicy tuna sandwich - i will be coming back for this one! - tuna uni app - this was unfortunately our least favorite dish of the night. this fell flat, and i think the fish could've been fresher. this one is gonna be an easy go-to for me and i'm looking forward to trying all the additional menu items. grab a seat at the bar, because matt is the best!

My favorite new eats in Williamsburg! From the same owners of Konban, Konya definitely is on par if not better. I love the pork loin katsu, was so pleasantly surprised that it tasted even better than the katsu I had in Hawaii! The spicy tuna sandwich also was so nostalgic. I mean, what can go wrong with spicy tuna, seaweed and rice? Well, I shouldn't speak so soon. Because the one dish that I was a bit disappointed in was the tuna uni taku. The fish was not that fresh and the rice was undercooked. However, the clam agnolitti definitely made up for it. It was my favorite dish of the night. Scallops were good too although a bit hefty price tag; the sauce that came with it was crack. We sat at the bar and shout out to Matt, the bartender who provided us great service all night. We got a white wine which paired well with the food and their clarified pandan cocktail was a great nightcap. My girls and I are already planning our next visit back!

We walked into a cozy, intimate space that felt more like a traditional Japanese noodle shop than a large restaurant, with a warm, understated energy that kept the attention on the food. The dining room was modest and inviting, with a layout that accommodated a steady flow of customers, and the focus was clearly on the quality of the noodles and the care that went into each bowl. The udon was the highlight of the meal. The noodles had a thick, chewy texture that showed the difference between freshly made udon and typical packaged noodles, and the broth was flavorful without feeling too heavy, with a savory depth that paired well with the noodles. We ordered a few different bowls and found the shrimp tempura udon standing out, with the tender shrimp, crispy tempura coating, and rich broth coming together in a way that felt complete. The restaurant also offers different styles of udon, including hot and cold options, which gave us good variety depending on what we were looking for. Beyond the udon, Raku has a selection of additional dishes that complement the meal. The menu keeps the focus on Japanese comfort food, and the smaller dishes made it easy to add something extra without taking away from the main bowl. We appreciated that the restaurant does not overcomplicate the food and instead focuses on getting the fundamentals right. The dining experience is more relaxed and intimate, though the space is limited and can get busy during peak hours. Reservations are helpful, especially during popular dining times, and seating can feel a little tight because of the smaller layout. Despite the size, the atmosphere works well for enjoying a slower meal centered around a warm bowl of udon. The staff moved through the room with a quiet efficiency, and the pacing of the meal kept the experience smooth and unhurried. Overall, Raku is a great spot for anyone looking for high-quality udon in NYC. The handmade noodles, flavorful broths, and simple approach to Japanese comfort food make it stand out. It is the type of restaurant we would return to when craving a satisfying bowl of noodles rather than a more casual ramen-style meal.

There are many…read morerestaurants with lines that I can't say are worth waiting on, but this restaurant is worth every minute and every ounce of energy left for the wait. I've taken a lot of friends here over the course of 10 years, and without fail, every one of them has walked out mindblown--and why wouldn't they?! The wait times have gotten better over the years (probably because people are waiting for the restaurant next door), but the food and drinks here are still top-notch. Staff is always great, and they all work so efficiently. I am generally a fan of izakayas, but there are very few that offer plates that are designed to be shareable, and this is one of the reasons the food here is so enjoyable in a small group setting. I am obviously biased and think they can do no wrong, but some of my staples that have stood the test of time: Kimchi cream udon, avocado tofu salad, salmon sashimi tacos, and the kani cream croquettes. I was so excited when they opened an outpost in Flushing years ago, but sadly it shuttered during COVID. It is definitely small and there is always going to be a wait, so don't be those people who come in with a huge group during prime time because they like to move (getting customers in and out) very fast.

It can be a little tricky to find as it has a small door on the street level and is located down a flight of stairs on 35th. My favorites here are the Omu Soba which has some tasty noodles inside and the salmon don which has some sashimi and sauce over rice!

Even before the food arrives, the restaurant leaves a strong impression with its stunning Japanese-inspired interior. The space is beautifully designed, blending warmth and elegance in a way that feels both inviting and refined. From the soft lighting to the natural wood accents and thoughtfully arranged decor, everything about the atmosphere feels intentional. It captures the intimate charm of a traditional izakaya while still feeling modern and stylish, making it a wonderful setting for anything from a casual dinner to a more special night out. The food more than lived up to the beauty of the space. One of the first highlights was the salmon onigiri, a dish that proved how satisfying simplicity can be when it is done well. The rice was soft, fresh, and perfectly formed, holding together without feeling too compact, while the salmon added a savory richness that made each bite feel comforting and flavorful. It was balanced, delicate, and deeply satisfying in a way that made it memorable despite its simplicity. The seared salmon salad was another standout. The salmon itself was beautifully prepared, with a lightly seared exterior that gave it a subtle crispness, while the inside remained tender, buttery, and smooth. That contrast in texture made the dish especially enjoyable. Paired with the freshness of the salad, it felt light and refreshing, yet still substantial enough to feel like more than just a side dish. It was a dish that managed to feel both clean and indulgent at the same time. The grilled squid was particularly impressive and easily one of the most memorable items of the meal. Squid can often be difficult to get right, as it can become rubbery or overly chewy if even slightly overcooked, but that was absolutely not the case here. The texture was spectacular--tender, delicate, and pleasantly springy without any toughness. Each bite had a light smokiness from the grill that added depth, while the squid itself retained its natural sweetness. It was expertly prepared and showcased a level of precision that really stood out. For the main courses, both the Tonkatsu Ramen and the Black Pepper Ramen delivered distinct experiences, each with its own appeal. The Tonkatsu Ramen was deeply comforting and satisfying, with a broth that had a rich, velvety texture and a full-bodied depth that coated the palate beautifully. It felt smooth, hearty, and luxurious without being too heavy. The noodles had an ideal texture as well--firm enough to provide a satisfying bite, yet soft enough to soak up the broth and integrate perfectly into the dish. Altogether, it was a bowl that felt warming, balanced, and incredibly comforting. The Black Pepper Ramen, on the other hand, brought a bolder and more assertive flavor profile. The broth had a smooth, glossy texture, and the noodles again had a pleasing chew that gave the dish structure and substance. The black pepper added an unmistakable warmth and aromatic intensity that made the ramen stand out immediately. It was flavorful and memorable, though the pepper was slightly overwhelming at times. A bit less black pepper would have allowed the other flavors in the broth to come through more clearly and created a more balanced bowl. Even so, the ramen was still enjoyable, especially for those who appreciate strong, pepper-forward flavors. Overall, Izakaya Fuku is a restaurant that succeeds on every level. The stunning Japanese interior creates an atmosphere that feels both immersive and elegant, while the food reflects a real attention to detail in both flavor and texture. From the comforting salmon onigiri, to the fresh and beautifully prepared seared salmon salad, to the expertly grilled squid with its exceptional texture, and finally the rich and satisfying ramen dishes, every part of the meal felt carefully executed. It is a place that offers not just excellent food, but a complete dining experience, and it is well worth visiting for anyone looking for standout Japanese cuisine in New York.
