What a great find on our trip to Memphis! Unique restaurant with a great menu, all with a Canadian twist. We tried the honey drenched sweet fries for an appetizer - a combination of sweet potato fries, honey, and brown sugar - and it was amazing! We went healthy and all had salads - the provincial pear chicken salad was tasty, leaving room for the incredible desserts - skillet brownie and skillet chocolate chip cookie! Just walked downtown on a short stay in Memphis to see who was open. Found the Kooky Canuck was open for dine in. Sat at the bar (which they had seating appropriately distanced) and had the Yonge burger with a side of greens. Burger was delicious! The bartender Davin was great! Good friendly conversational service. Quite a refreshing experience in these times. read more

Servers are super nice, however, it took a long time to get our drinks. I love their Tuesday drink specials tho of $5 34 oz cocktails. I got the s'mores cocktail and it's super sweet, but hard to finish 34 oz because it's so rich. Otherwise, it was delicious and well decorated with marshmallows. The strawberry mojito is also very good and very flavorful. I tried a bite of the maple steak and it's too sweet for me, and wasn't served as hot as I would like it but it was still decent. read more

Food is terrible and over priced. Beer and sports was good, just don't eat there. Local IPA, cat nap was good. I had bbq plate and tasted like frozen food from Costco. I expected better being in Memphis. My kids didn't eat the Mac and cheese, chicken tenders, or fries. I had to get them food afterward. Server charged me $4.60 for milk, even though I asked in advance if there was an extra charge. Only got 2 stars for the sports and beer. Try somewhere else. read more

Service was a little slow, but Christy was great and explained everything. She was quick with refills and smiling and pleasant! All of the food was delicious and plentiful! I was with a party of 9 and they all raved about the food. I have a few pictures, but I was a little to slow and the guys were gobbling it up! I have been visiting this restaurant during my trips to Memphis. They have a wide range of options on the menu. I love their Marinated Grilled Chicken. Their French fries are good. Sonia is a great server ! She makes the whole experience better. She recommended their cookie for dessert and that made me write this review. It was THAT good. NeNe is so welcoming when you step in the door. Today just stopped by for some wings and a beer while out riding the bikes. Try the strawberry jalapeños wings and the Thai chili ones too! This is one of the worst experiences I've had eating so far in Memphis :-(. Besides waiting for an extraordinarily long time to order and get our food, the food was mediocre at best. It probably took honestly about 45 to 50 minutes to get three burgers and greasy ass fries. And that was after waiting about 25 minutes to have our order taken, and waiting 25 minutes for a table. The waitress never came back to check on us nor did we get our waters that we asked for and we all had empty drinks before our food came. Our bill was incorrect also, and then the waitress didn't know how to change it and the whole situation was pretty confusing for her.... She ended up just telling us we owed X amount less than the receipt said. Do yourself a favor. Don't be fooled by the star rating . read more

Friendliest owner on Memphis, great bar and more food. Great atmosphere and always full and fun. If you're lucky someone will take the challenge of eating the biggest burger you have ever seen in your life. Makes the place even more fun. Worth the stop downtown, like everything in memphis parking is horrible, i suggest trying down by the orpheum if there is no show. Service is always great. We popped in here on a Saturday while in town from MN to watch the Vikings game. Our bartender was awesome and she made me one of the best bloody Mary's I've ever had. Soooo good and definitely could tell was homemade. Met a local gal, Kathy, at the bar who chatted us throughout the entire game and offered such great company and great insights into the area. Between her and the bartender we felt right at home with their hospitality. She convinced us to order the BBQ egg rolls and they were delicious!! Honestly this is my favorite place to eat i just hate i moved across town and have to drive so far. I been going here for years i think I'm addicted , not only to the food but to the Chocolate chip cookie as well. I'm never disappointed when i come here. This place has tons of atmosphere and food to back it up. Burgers are cooked perfect with great fries. The maple syrup is a sweet blend with the old fashion drink. Hints of sweetness in other dishes on the menu. For sure a good spot to try and you will be back. read more

We were really looking forward to trying Kooky Canuck earlier. When the hostess approached she asked how many, I said "two" and was told to sit at the bar. When I asked if we could get a table she said, "we don't have any." We take our seats at the bar and while waiting for the bartender to return a large group (14 people) without a reservation arrives. The hostess goes to check with the manager, comes back and says the wait is 25-35 minutes. They converse a bit further, the hostess says, "let me go check." When she returns she says, "right this way." If there's room for 14, there's surely room for two so I take a look at the area adjacent to the bar and the room beside it and count at least six open four-tops. We have experienced nothing but exceptional hospitality in Memphis. We were more than happy to wait for a table, but that was just beyond rude by any standard, so we left. read more

I remember when I first went to this restaurant 5 or 6 years ago and the place was great. Going in tonight was not what I expected and a great disappointment. After we got seated the waitress forgot about us (sad part was that the place was only a third full) and then suddenly remembered. She got our drink order and after 15 minutes we got our drinks. She left and came back after another 15 minutes and took our order..... during the ordering process my wife asked for the prime rib entrée and the waitress asked her how she liked it cooked and when my wife asked about the two sides she was told it only got one. But then we pointed it out the menu and she said they did not have a prime rib entree because they were out of prime rib and she thought my wife was talking about the prime rib sandwich?????? Got prime rib for sandwich but not for entrée? So we finally get our food..... My youngest daughter ordered the nachos with no jalapenos, onions, or sour cream. They delivered it without those items and left off the cheese. The Pulled pork and beans were cold. My oldest daughter ordered the chicken wings, and received them warm, fries warm. Wife ordered simple beginnings. When she asked the waitress about mayo and mustard the waitress said she would deliver when food was done. She did not bring a thing, left for another 5 minutes and then when asked to get stuff brought out little cups of condiment. Burger was luke warm by the time she got to eat it. And when I looked at the patty it looked like the angus ones we buy from Sams only with a little seasoning on it. More bread and veggies than burger. Here fries were luke warm and quickly cooled during the meal. The waitress kept apologizing for forgetting us but really? No wonder the building was empty. Service was lousy (we came in 7:30P and left ant 9:10P) and food quality has dropped so far I do not know if they can make this place come back. read more

We found this restaurant on Yelp and guess what, what a great moment!! The restaurant looks so nice inside, the waitresses were so welcoming and attentive. The music inside was really great. We ordered the Canadian burger and Poutine burger with their hand cut fries. These plates were just amazing and so tasty! For dessert we took the fabulous Cookie a la mode and its vanilla ice cream, the best cookie ever in my life !! I absolutely recommend this place and we will come back for sure. I didn't enjoy the food I ordered because I was dumb enough not to read the ingredients (I ordered a BLT but I hate pimento cheese and it had that on it) but the fries were perfect and the skillet cookie desert was delicious. I enjoyed it so much. The waitress, Jessica, was sweet and we never had to look for where she was when we needed something. Now we sat there for almost 15 minutes already knew what we wanted to order and were amazed that no one even came and asked if we wanted anything to drink. It was empty and waitresses were walking by us. One even stood right next to us and didn't even look at us. 3 of them were right behind me trying to figure something out on the restaurant computer. We thought we were dreaming, like we were completely invisible. I wish I could've rated the food or even a drink but for service like this I don't even wanna give it one star. I went to this place on a Saturday night for dinner. They were not really busy, but some how they managed to be extremely slow at getting food out. I ordered a well cooked burger. It took them over an hour to bring the burger out and it was cooked rare when I bit into it. The waitress was not attentive at all... When I asked the waitress why did my food take so long she mentioned that everything was prepared fresh... I ordered a burger and fries, it does not take an hour to prepare a raw burger patty, and the fries were Ice cold... Everyone there seem to be having a bad day...
