Just one of MANY aisles of hardware items that you need or didn't even know existed!

I feel blessed to now live much of the time only half a mile from this store. Amazingly I realized on my third visit that this incredible but little store is part of the Ace Hardware group. It takes me back about 60 years ago when I worked on Saturdays at age 15 for pocket money in England. They have EVERYTHING and enough staff to help you find whatever it is that you want or need. I love it!!! Yesterday for the princely sum of $14 I managed to get solutions to three minor repair issues. A true bargain and value for money. Sometime soon I am going to just browse and educate myself (and probably buy all manner of hardware goodies).

    Proof it shows in stock

Went there because it showed they had 17 of these in stock, showed up and they looked at us like mummies and said they don't have and they don't know what we're talking about, 50 mins drive for them to be clueless robots... get your system straight

They also sell plates and cookware

Koontz has been in business since 1938 and it is an awesome store. It's very well stocked and has pretty much everything you need for most handyman projects. The associates are friendly and helpful most of the time. Sometimes it can be hard to get help in the key department though which is up two steps from everything else. It typically has long lines and only one person behind the desk working on keys and no one in the aisles to help with the other items in that section which can be frustrating when you can't find what you are looking for and don't need a key. Prices can be higher here than other home improvement places on some items but not everything. Aisles are pretty tight throughout the store but I don't mind because they are so well stocked and they carry excellent products. Small parking lot attached to the building.

These are two parts that I bought for my oven called thermal couples which were faulty or something wrong from the manufactured

Cashiers are amazing! Everyone there is sweet and friendly. And ordering was easy. Found old style hardware. Cheaper than other places

Very rude customer service over the phone, hung up on me when I asked a simple question because they were "too busy"

The best service ever. Plus they stock almost everything you need. Koontz is what a hardware store should be.

    Do you have stepstools?

    Yes they do

    Has Koontz reopened?

    Yes. Shorter hours though.

Do you offer services such as cutting plastic/ thick materials?

Hi. We cut and sell plexiglass here and we sell all the scissors, snips and saws for cutting everything else. If its just one easy cut and we're not busy we can usually do it for you, but if its a bunch of cuts, we'd probably just show you how and… Read more

The best customer service in all of BH! Rodeo Drive could never! If you are ever needing something, do yourself a favor and call them. They are, however, selling very beautiful old things at prices that suggest those knobs personally survived the Renaissance. I've sold items to Liz before, so I wasn't totally shocked by the vibe--but wow. The customer service feels less "neighborhood hardware store" and more Devil Wears Prada: Salvaged Fixtures Edition. There's a distinct sense that you should feel honored just to be standing there, breathing their historically preserved air. To be fair, there is one saving grace: a more mature Latino gentleman who actually knows his stuff and seems genuinely interested in helping. He's great. Everyone else? You'll get helped... eventually... maybe... if the stars align and you prove worthy. There's also an older guy, Paul, who seems deeply committed to the art of being unpleasant. Look, I get it--these pieces are gorgeous and full of history. But a little less attitude and a little more basic human kindness would go a long way. I came in to buy hardware, not audition for a role as "Unworthy Customer #3."

Immediately his tone changed and he said there's no return it is final sale. I let him know we just got it like 10 min ago, didn't use it, it hasn't even left the car. He said the cashier told me that it is no returns, it is on the receipt and I just let him know that she did not mention this. This must have triggered something because he started to get more aggressive over the phone and started to go on a rant of his own saying things like " I wasn't born yesterday, people use them and return them all the time." I let him know multiple times "that's fine" to his rant about not accepting returns from ladders until he would mention again, that "the cashier told you," then I would respond "that's fine, but they did not mention it." He continued to go off and I was starting to get over being yelled at so I interrupted his rant and said "that's all fine, I just wanted to let you know that the cashier didn't mention it, that's all," which to me I thought an appropriate response back would be "I'll give a reminder to the cashiers to do that." that's it....but he continued on his rant until my friend helped me end the conversation otherwise I'm not sure how long he would've kept going for. Also noting that someone separate from the cashier working had to unlock the cable for us to get a ladder, so that's another person who could've told us that ladders were final sale not just the cashier. But that whole phone interaction was enough to not come back as much as I want to support local and from small businesses. Also from my previous review one of the keys ended up not working :/
