Started with the Brussels sprouts and I could not stop myself from almost eating all of them myself. Then chose the shrimp scampi as my entree and it was also very delicious! I barely had room for dessert but went ahead ordered one anyway. The bread pudding was the perfect sweet treat after! 10/10 would return and possibly choose to sit inside just to experience it. First time at Laurel hardware, and we had a mixed response. The decor is appropriately industrial, but with kicked-up touches that make it feel more upscale, more comfortable. The deep woods and dark metal furnishings inside contrast nicely with the ceiling-high windows leading to the outdoor patio. It's a welcoming space, and the staff was equally charming, friendly and focused on making sure we had what we needed. Our server, Allison, offered personal suggestions re the menu, and explained anything that was unclear. Drinks were promptly brought by the bartender, who also made sure we were satisfied before leaving us to our cocktails. My wife's drink, The Gangster, was a sweet and tart blend of cucumber vodka, watermelon juice and lime: refreshing and light, without too much of an alcohol kick. I opted for an Asahi beer, offered on tap and served in a frosty cold glass. It was also refreshing, and paired well with a dram of Toki whiskey. Food was where things stalled for my wife, who ordered the Crispy Rice Salad. Unlike a true salad of crispy rice that you'd get at a Thai restaurant, where crispy rice is the main ingredient, this was really an Asian chicken salad with crispy rice used as a garnish instead of the usual wonton noodles. The ample portion of shaved veggies and pulled chicken (fresh and good quality) was appreciated, but the dressing was far too mild, even when bolstered by an order of extra dressing; the large serving of salad wound up lacking pizzazz and being a disappointment. On the other hand, I really enjoyed my order of Duck Fried Rice, which was packed with flavor and a good degree of spice. The duck itself was tender and tasty, the rice a nice blend of soft and crispy, the included veggies retained crunch through the cooking, and the fried egg on top added just the right extra pop of flavor and creaminess. It was the far better dish, and I would happily order it again. So, it wasn't a perfect meal, but there were definitely some successes, and as I said, the staff couldn't have been nicer. This place is gorgeous! The restaurant has a beautiful design both indoor and outdoor. So much seating and a great happy hour selection. Favorite thing we ordered were the Lollipop sprouts. Never underestimate vegetables to be the yummiest part of the meal :) Frozen lavender cocktail was refreshing, pizza was perfect, ribs were melt-in-your-mouth, and shrimp tacos made a great appetizer. This place is really cute! The ambiance is very picture worthy no matter if you're sitting inside or outside. We had a big group reservation and the staff were super friendly, took great care of us. It was our friends birthday and they even refrigerated the cake and made the whole thing special! Staff was very attentive so i loved that. I got the 6oz steak and it was perfectly seasoned and cooked. Also definitely recommended the hamachi crudo, perfectly spicy and flavored. For drinks, I got the gangster, so refreshing if you're looking for something simple. The only issue I had was with the bathrooms, there were only 3 single stalls for both genders so there was always a line and it overflowed into the seating guest area. Awkward placement for it too. Right when you walk in it's a very moody spot. There's a bar right there if you're waiting for your party to arrive - because they won't seat you until everyone is there. I got to eat outside and it was so beautiful! We were right under a gorgeous lit tree. I ordered a mocktail that I think had gang in the name? It was so tasty! Highly recommend. Then my friend and I split the short rib pappardelle and the crispy rice salad. The salad was so fresh and had amazing crunch. The pasta...omg. It was delicious, and I could have eaten another bowl. For dessert we got the bread pudding, and I'm not usually a bread pudding fan because of the texture, however this one was perfect! Crisp on the outside and warm and soft inside. The only thing I wish were different is that it's so loud outside. We were a party of 5 and I felt like I was screaming across the table to talk. Probably better if you have a smaller party though! The drink I ordered was literally so good. Unfortunately, I can't remember the name of it, but it had mezcal along with some spice to it and some lemon. Gimme 14 of em. Hamachi crudo and spicy salmon tartare - I would've ordered another round of these if in another world I could never get full. So flavorful and just what I was looking for taste wise. My friend ordered the marinated skirt steak and said it melted in his mouth and the sauce was phenomenal. My other friend ordered the burger and said it was juicy and filling. To add, I ordered the rigatoni bolognese and the pasta itself was cooked to perfection. Only request was a bit more seasoning on the red sauce! We were all super pleased with our dinner experience. I tried multiple dishes at Laurel Hardware, and some of my favorites were the Shrimp Scampi, Duck Fried Rice, Spicy Vodka Rigatoni, and Little Gem Caesar. The quality of the food is amazing, but I just wish the portions were a little larger considering the prices for them. Also, the outdoor seating at night is beautiful. Great lighting and such a nice and cool ambiance. Service was also very good, and the staff was super kind and helpful. The first bar we walked into was pretty busy, so we decided to head over to Laurel Hardware--and it ended up being the best decision. The space has an amazing vibe: trendy without feeling pretentious, with a beautiful patio that's perfect for people-watching and catching up with friends. The ambiance is gorgeous, very clean, and the outdoor area is beautifully lit, making it feel like the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion. A huge shoutout to Jeff and Josh behind the bar. They were attentive, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable about both the drink menu and the food offerings. They made us feel welcome from the moment we sat down, and the conversation was so enjoyable that we ended up staying longer than we planned. I had a great dinner at Laurel Hardware. It's definitely a very young and lively crowd, which you can feel from the moment you enter. And they have a beautiful outdoor patio that is very spacious and well-lit. The whole restaurant is dimly lit which adds a nice flare to the experience. I loved all the food. I think it's best to order tapas style and share with the table. We started with their crispy shrimp which came with shishito peppers and a spicy aioli. Loved how crisp those shrimp were. The chicken wings were surprisingly good, also extra crispy and loaded with Parmesan cheese. The marinated skirt steak with chimichurri sauce was perfectly cooked and juicy throughout. My only feedback was that I wanted more, I could've eaten 2 plates of that steak by myself! The crispy rice salad came with chicken and an Asian-style vinaigrette, it was so refreshing! The mushroom and squash pizzas were both great - crispy, thin crust pizzas with plenty of cheese and fresh toppings. Burger was super juicy and the fries were nice and crisp. Even the chicken shawarma plate was delicious - chicken was super juicy and I really enjoyed their fresh tzatziki sauce. My biggest feedback was the service. It was just so busy that it was hard to grab our waitress and there were a few times we had to remind her about our drinks or flag her down to order more. I know that they were super busy, so I'm sure this has much to do with it. But once we did get our waitresses' attention, she was super helpful and responsive. I used to work here. I was a dishwasher for a few months unfortunately left because I was offered a opportunity as an apprentice immediately. However, Kate, the manager and Cameron, the other manager are both very kind people. The head chef was all over the place and the front of house. Staff were amazing. Dida was so kind to me and so were all the bussers. Had very little problems except my coworkers in the back of house but other than that it's a great place to work. It's a great place to sit down and eat one of the best atmospheres I've ever seen in any restaurant and the managers are very helpful. If you've never been here, please try it out!!!! read more

Pro tip: save some $$ and go to happy hour at opening everyday 5-6pm! I'm obsessed with this place. My must-haves are the crispy rice salad, skirt steak and mushroom pizza. The ambiance is lovely and it's so fun walking into what looks like a plain hardware store to find the most gorgeous patio setting with trees and lights. I had been here pre-pandemic and enjoyed the ambiance, so I decided to return with my family while in LA recently. The service was horrible, especially for a slow weeknight when half of the tables on the patio weren't occupied. We waited for 20 minutes after being seated without anyone coming to ask us if we wanted water or drinks. We had to flag someone over to take our order when parties who were seated after ours were seeming to get quick service. Mentioned it to the server, and they didn't care to do anything about it. Visited Laurel Hardware a couple months ago with a few friends amidst one of their wedding planning. Such a cute restaurant with pretty good food and great drinks. I wish I could remember our servers name, but he was also amazing and super attentive. We ordered several dishes to share, and the highlights for me were the duck friend rice, the matcha cocktail I ordered, and the chocolate chip cookie that comes in a skillet (yes, think pizookie). The cocktail was so yummy, especially considering many bars and/or restaurants make decent cocktails, yes, but not often are they necessarily delicious, this one was very! We actually got two desserts, the creme brulee and chocolate chip cookie with ice cream. I'm normally a big creme brulee girl but this cookie definitely stole the spotlight. Second time here & it didn't disappoint. Came for dinner on 4/26 a Sunday evening around 6:30pm. The occasion was for a girlfriend birthday & a group of 7. Everyone loved the space, the drinks, the aesthetic, ESPECIALLY THE FOOD. We ordered a variety of drinks but the espresso martini & the Gangster (with tequila) was top tier. Some food dishes we ordered consisted of the chicken wings 10/10, spicy rigatoni pasta 10000/10 that's my go to. My birthday girl got the butternut squash pasta, skirt steak was delicious, but rather small, comes with no side dish so I recommend get a side lol. The chicken shwarma was also a flavorful dish I didn't get to pick a piece from my friends plate it was devoured already , but the prosciutto pizza!!!! & the margarita pizza were MUST HAVES. This is a wonderful space, and we've taken visiting friends on a couple occasions to give them a classy, uniquely LA kind of experience. I have to admit the cocktails are amazing. But I think in the future I'd limit it to cocktails. Every dish we had was simply underwhelming. I don't mind paying LA prices, and especially more for a finer dining experience, but I want it to feel like it was worth it and it's really not at Laurel. The ribeye, in fact, is not worth eating at all, much less paying $70+ for. Saturday, we celebrated my friend's birthday at your restaurant with a party of seven. We were very disappointed that the bottled water was served warm and we had to ask separately for ice . Our server told us that separate checks were not allowed, but this was later contradicted by both the hostess and the manager. The food was good , but it was served one plate at a time , causing some meals to become cold while waiting for everyone to be served. The birthday had been mentioned in advance, yet no acknowledgment or special gesture was provided, and we were told that this is not something the restaurant offers. I would suggest better communication and staff training to ensure guests receive accurate and consistent information. We had to repeatedly ask to be moved to a proper table, which started the experience off on the wrong note. The portions and flavor just didn't stand out compared to the price and reputation. The only dish we truly enjoyed was the duck fried rice, which was delicious. The vibe outside is super nice. This is probably my favorite trendy spot I have been too because of the ambiance and the decent prices! The food was very good, very decent portions, the place is beautiful especially if you sit outside! I am never fond of places that force you into valet and this was not quite that but you almost have to valet because the parking around is either permitted parking or you have to get lucky and find something and walk a bit, but it is what it is. Service was probably the worst part of the experience. Our server didn't come to us until we were seated for 15 minutes and barely checked in on us. Also they really love to rush you out and have a strict 2 hour limit from when you are seated eventhiigh their server doesn't come around to help speed it up I think I'll be back for a special occasion but will manage my expectation with the service. read more
