Stopped by for dinner and drinks. It looked super cute while we were walking by. We waited a long time for anyone to come take drink orders. The hostess had to track down our server and let them know we were waiting. (She mentioned they were "chit chatting" in the back. I ordered wings and a steak sandwich with no cheese. The wings came out and they were fair could have used more sauce but fine. Shortly after another server brought another plate of wings and a steak sandwich WITH cheese. We let him know we already had the wings but needed the steak sandwich WITHOUT cheese. It took about 20 minutes to get a corrected sandwich. When it came it was bland and dry. Zero seasoning. No mayo. Just not very good. Service was slow and pretty inattentive. Also this place is NOT wheelchair accessible and none of the bathroom stalls have safety handles. Sadly will not be returning. read more

Food was good. The service was terrible. From the host to the server. Host was rude and was more interested in their conversation with the bar patrons. My three friends arrived before we did and put in drinks, apps and entrees. They forgot one of their orders, so we flagged down the host to notify the server we were missing an app and drink after apps and entrees were already served (40 mins). We notified them and received the items but were treated as if we never placed the order. The order was read back to us and we confirmed them so we know the order was taken, just forgotten. When we received our bill, nothing was discounted or removed so I asked for a refund of the two items forgotten. They were clearly forgotten because they were at the end of the ticket. The server said they would speak with the manager. As they're speaking with the manager at the bar they turn around and announce loudly, "do you want anything else taken off the bill?" As if to embarrass us. We're not the ones who should be embarrassed. This is the first and last time we'll visit. read more

This bar has altered conditions due to covid and have plentiful outdoor seating although there were no visible sanitation stations and tables were sat next to each other. I didn't mind but I could tell some of the older patrons did. I came for drinks in the early afternoon. Kooper's is a beautiful restaurant and the environment they made outside to adapt to covid was more than comfortable. Service was fine, no issues there. Prices were a little high for drinks but the place is on Thames so I think that's just keeping up with the prices in the area. Around the block drinks are cheaper but the view from Kooper's is great. The white wine sangria that I ordered was $9 and was basically white wine, Prosecco and some strawberries. Very underwhelming. I think if you're going to offer a sangria at least make it legit. It was an overall great experience but I think the prices were just a little too high for me. I didn't have the food so I can't speak for that. I would come here again but only if the bars around the corner weren't packed as a half a block away the prices seem to drop. read more

I love the location of this bar restaurant. It's an older and very charming part of the harbor. They've got a great selection of beer and other drinks. The food is really REALLY great though! Lots of seafood dishes which I absolutely love. Several of which feature Maryland blue crab which is a really big deal! Fresh and delicious crab meat added to/featured in those dishes. My favorite has to be the crab cakes. You just have to try them! ;) read more

We've been coming here for yours and can't believe I haven't written a review yet. So here it is... Kooper's is one of my go-to restaurants in Baltimore. The food is always good. The beer is always cold (with a great selection). Friendly staff. Our last visit was pre-Covid and was pleasantly surprised by the ample outdoor seating. I hope this continues! I do have to tell a funny story. We ordered the truffle fries (mmm). They were so garlicky (in a good way) that when we came home and tried to watch What We Do In The Shadows, the cast refused to come onto the screen! read more

Facing a more than 1 hour wait (which I never justified) at the Thames Street Oyster House a couple doors down the street, we had to look for an alternative in not too big of a distance as the weather was unappealing cold and wet. Kooper's Tavern provided a welcome refuge even if the dinner was not as sophisticated as we would have hope for. A Spinach Salad, Penne Vodka, and Fish and Chips had to do it. A friend and I did a mini overnight trip to Baltimore (from DC). We came here for brunch and overall it was fantastic! We sat outside on the gorgeous patio. We luckily got a corner table so we could see the water and people watch! The food was good; we both had the Crab Benedict with an additional side of fruit. I was pleasantly surprised to see the fruit was all strawberries and blueberries! Normally you get like one strawberry and the rest is melon. We also did bottomless. We started with mimosas- they were okay. But then after a few rounds we switch to the white sangria. I was disappointed that we hadn't been drinking the sangria from the start; it was so f! good!!! I can't remember our servers name but she was great! At first we were unsure because after we finished our 1st round of drinks they sat empty for a hot minute. So we were a little hesitant that we would have to ask every time but she definitely became one of our favorite servers of all time. She was bringing out rounds before we finished the round in front of us! When we switched drinks, she would come over when we where halfway through our drink and ask what the next round would be (just incase we wanted to switch it up) then she would tell us she would order the next round in about 10 minutes. Also, shout out to the whole team that handled the child throwing up on the patio (thankfully not near us!). The giant wooden bar really brings you back to a pub in the UK. We came in for lunch. We got seated near the window so we're able to people watch and enjoy some food. We started off with the crab dip! It was so creamy and good! Def can used a little more crab chunks in it, but overall very yummy. The only thing is it def needs more bread and veggies to dip in the dip! For the main I got the 16 oz bison burger! They let you create your own burger with toppings and protein! So I went with bison and a bunch of typical burger Toppings. The burger came out a little More done than I wanted but was stilll really good! The Star was the sweet potatoe fries. Was visiting Baltimore and stopped by here for dinner after walking around the inner harbor for a bit. Service was very prompt and we were seated and checked in on right away. I have walked by this tavern on many occasions while strolling through Fells Point without giving it much thought. My boyfriend and I decided to try the Tavern for happy hour. We were quite delighted with the offerings that they had on both food and beer and decided to have a seat at the bar. We both ordered a large bowl of the Maryland crab soup, beer and some wings to share. The crab soup was delicious with a nice light tomato base, full chunks of crabmeat and lots of vegetables. It was just what the doctor ordered. The wings were typical for bar food but served with a healthy serving of blue cheese, celery, and carrots. The menu is quite expansive and we look forward to returning to dine on seafood in the near future. The restaurant itself is fairly casual and again their happy hour is really quite good. It will be interesting to compare this restauarant with the beloved Thames street oyster a few doors down. -------- Have been back several times! Always consistent. I ordered the Billy's Waygu which i thought was pretty good they didn't cook it how i ordered it but thats okay i thought it was good and the truffle fries were really good. I also had a grapefruit crush which i thought was really good. My girl got the FarmStead Lamb she said it was alright kind of bland and they didn't cook hers how she wanted either. She also ordered a Mimosa. I thought it was kind of pricey but overall it was a decent experience. My favorite part was probably the outside seating right infront of the water. read more

This place is fun. The food is delicious and the view is nice since it's located right next to the water. We got the Crab dip which was creamy and well made the burn cheese on top really elevated the dip. The bread was well toasted and complimented the dip well. The nachos weren't the best but we also had a lot of the fixings in the side because some people didn't eat jalapeños etc. I had the Crabcake which was really good and breaded perfectly. My wife had the Bacon cheeseburger with sweet potato fries which was also good. You can upgrade your fries to Truffle fries for a few bucks which is worth it in my opinion. My wife and I started out with drinks (good selection of craft beer and specialty drinks--I had a Monument Rye and she had a tasty white sangria) and crab dip. The dip was very good and there was plenty of it--served w/toasted baguette, carrots, and celery. Fish Tacos (which we shared) were the best I've ever had. Flavorful, fresh ingredients, and they didn't skimp on the fish, which was cooked perfectly. Came with home made Old Bay chips, which were also tasty.. We also had an order of truffle fries, which were also very good. Our server was friendly and attentive while we waited for our food, which came out in an appropriate amount of time for a place that serves freshly made food. We sat towards the back of the restaurant during a busy Friday lunch hour., but we didn't feel too crowded or rushed. Dont write many reviews, but I'm doing this one for my folks. Great location right on the water in Fells Point. Ate outside because my old Marine DI tough guy a now can't go anywhere without his little dog. When asked, Koopers, , which has a dog stained glass above its door, said not only were dogs allowed to dine with us, " it was encouraged." All the young people who served us and we had contact with were very cheerful and friendly. The food was fast and looked great. Tasted great too. I had a pretty perfect burger myself, but my folks both ordered the crab cake sandwich, which is why I am writing this review. My old man is a crab guy. Catch 'em, eat 'em, love them. And he kept saying over and over how he couldn't believe how much crab was in his sandwich. He also identified it as being back fin, which is the best kind for crab cakes and what he used when he made crab cakes for visiting family just two days back. I applaud Koopers for not using filler to stretch the crab. This place is in a tourist part of town and could likely get away with it. I used to bartend in a very famous historic restaurant in Annapolis and they were so cheap and conniving about how little actual crab they would put in ther crab soup and other dishes . It was absolutely embarrassing and shameful and shocking. High prices, but very little crab. Dining out is expensive these days but the crab cake sandwich at Koopers was priced as you'd expect, but gave a real bang for your buck. Good place. Highly recommended. read more

A nice spot to get out of the rain and then the humidity for a bit, I popped in for a beer and some laptop time. Fortunately, they were able to find me a power outlet after I was able to find a parking space. The beer was good and cold and my favorite - cheap. $4 for a proper pint from the tap. The most delicious truffle fries I've ever eaten! (And I do a lot of "research" in that area) :) Stopped in this past weekend for brunch/lunch with my nephew. He had a delicious omelette with crab meat and I opted for the spinach salad with ahi tuna. Both delish! Had some bloody marys as well (wish they were a bit spicier!). Took my daughter and her roommates out for a dinner in the harbor. Had a slight wait as the weather was perfect. Group of 7, we sat inside. Service was very quick, even though it was packed on a Saturday night. We had a a large sample of the menu: tuna tartare, mozzarella sticks, wings, crabcakes, ceasar salad were definite table favorites. There's no sign that says "cis only" but it would have saved us time. The food was great as always and it came out almost instantly because it was a slow time of day. The hostess clearly did not want to seat us at all, and our server stopped serving us after taking the food order. No one would take additional orders or give us our check, we had to go get it from the bar after a long wait and many attempts. Other people got great service, we literally could not flag someone walking inches away. Loud 70's music.like Joplin, which I like. Great bloody mary. The traditional Irish breakfast for brunch was so good. My fellow dinners did NOT like the chorizo tacos or the burger. Burger lacks flavor and was dry even though ordered medium rare. Tacos had little meat and all egg. So basically a local tavern with recorded rock music and unpredictable fare. Kooper's is a reliable spot for dinner, happy hour, lunch, or brunch. For happy hour (5-7) they have select draft beers for $4 and select appetizers for $7. The food is pretty good, I got the Old Bay wings and they were delicious and coated (almost too heavily) in OB. Orange crushes are tasty, especially when enjoyed at their outdoor seating. Brunch menu is also delicious, I have gotten the French toast and it's amazing. Coffee is served in a French press, which I love, but a small is enough to share between two people (unless you're really trying to get hyped up, then maybe get the large). Service is always super friendly and attentive, and they really care about their customers. Definitely recommend for any meal or even just a drink!!! read more

I moved to Fells Point in May of this year. My girlfriend and I went to 10-15 places in the first month or so to find our favorite bar (or regular spot we can rely on). What we were looking for was good beer selection (I prefer beer), cocktail options, good bar food, but most importantly...great service. I was in the service industry for close to 10 years and have great empathy for service workers. I was out of the industry when the pandemic hit, so I can't imagine what they went through. That brings me to one of my first Koopers experiences. Alison (my girlfriend) and I walked in and grabbed a seat at the bar. Gentleman greeted us with, "thanks for coming out. What is your flavor?" Grabbed a few drinks and got to talking to him. He's from Philly, lives next door, loves golf, was a great pitcher in baseball (he may be making it up but who knows haha kidding). The rest is history... His name is Kevin and many people come here for him. When I get home from work during the week or weekend, Alison will say, "are we going to see Kevin?" He's that type of bartender. You come for his service and how welcome he makes you feel. Very impactful and I am glad I've met him and this place. read more
