hands down my favorite korean place in buffalo. i order takeout a lot through the apps and the food is always consistently good and flavorful. it's a little cheaper if you pay with cash. super friendly and pretty quick service always.

I am from Los Angeles where we have some of the best Korean food outside of Seoul. And I was fully impressed with this yummy Korean comfort food! We Postmated a few things on a wet & chilly day: Bangyetang - like the best chicken soup you've ever had! Boiled white & dark meat chicken in a rich chicken bone broth, served w/a side of purple & white mixed rice. Japchae - topped w/a perfectly runny fried egg, these delicious garlicky glass noodles w/veggies, tender pieces of somewhat spicy beef, some fish cake & rice underneath. The ultimate comfort food! Yang-nyeom chicken box - a generous serving of fried chicken pieces in a garlicky sweet/sour sauce, topped w/green onions, & served w/rice, legit spicy kimchi, spicy fish cake & bean sprouts. A nice banchan selection! Yummy!! This is an excellent value for the quality of food that you get. It all arrived hot & securely packaged, & was super yum. Definitely recommend!

Spicy pork box and some bulgogi from the bulgogi box we also got.

Ordered take out for two nights. Super easy and delicious. Slightly salty for my preference but most restaurant food is too salty for me. Will definitely be coming back :)

Five stars! The location is very clean which is a huge deal for me. The service was great and to top it off the food was so good!! Highly recommend if you're looking for something new and delicious !!! I got the marinated meat combination plate and it was sooooooo good!! My husband got the sweet and sour pork which was probably the best I have ever had! Highly recommend!!!

I was so excited to find a korean fried chicken place in Buffalo!!!! However, slightly disappointed on the quality flavor and freshness of the chicken I got. When I went in June 2021, they were still not having dine in, just take out. So I ordered my food and ate the bento in my car outside. I got the garlic pepper chicken bento. For the amount of food items you get for it for the price, it was definitely worth it! It came with rice, fishpaste, kimchi and a good portion of korean fried chicken. I was actually disappointed with the chicken though. I was expecting that double fried crispy chicken, especially since I ate it right after they cooked it. Nope, it was still soggy and not that juicy. The flavor of the soy garlic was not fully covering the chicken as well. Quite disappointed. The fishpaste also was not as flavorful. Kimchi was alright. The bean sprouts added a light balance. I felt pretty full though because there was a lot of carb from the rice and the chicken. I would like to give this place a shot and try the classic sweet spicy red sauced chicken (yangnyeom).

I have been to Koreana many times because it is convenient. I am a huge fan of their garlic pepper chicken (deep-fried chicken with pepper and veggies $13) and jiajiangmyeon (black bean sauce noodle $9). The garlic pepper chicken is really garlicky and greasy but it still taste good. It is served with Korean purple rice and bonch Staffs are not welcoming. This restaurant has no table service so head up to the counter yourself. When the dishes are ready, we grab them back to the table. We clean after ourselves and bring the trays back to the cashier. You can make your own tea next to the counter too.

I'm writing this review solely based on the dish I had. Labeled on the menu as galbi, but actually is gamjatang, or hangover soup. Tons of flavor and savoriness and spice! Tons of pork bones for fun picking of the meat. Koreana is a small joint with counter service. It's a serve yourself type of joint, like most places in Korea. I was blown away by the authenticity and great flavor. Not only that, but it's only $9.99. This dish at most Korean restaurants is usually upwards of $30. Get it. Call ahead, they only prepare this on certain days.

I've been here twice and both times treated rudely. DO NOT COME HERE! I went into the restaurant to order food (I got jjangjangmyeon) and they said it would take ten minutes.....then made me leave the restaurant while it was prepared! Totally rude! I get that it's a pandemic but i was the ONLY person in the restaurant and I was wearing a mask and maintained six feet distance. The food isn't mad but I'm tired of being treated like crap by the owners. I'm gonna try the other Korean restaurant on Kenmore Ave next time.....

    The ONLY-certain-days-of-the-week menu...

Tried this place because it had a 4-star on Yelp, but was quite disappointed with the experience... The food is not terrible here, but something about the taste isn't that authentic compared to other Korean places. My husband got bulgogi (which was a little underwhelming), and I got garlic chicken (which was okay). The best way I would describe food here would be Korean bunsik (street/snack food). Also, there are certain menus you can ONLY get on certain days of the week, which can be frustrating. Like the skirt steak spicy stew, you can ONLY get on Mondays. The service isn't bad and the restaurant itself is well kept, but the location is such a pain. :( It's SO hard to get here if you're coming from the main road! Overall, it's not a bad place, but not somewhere we'll be going again. :\

Billy Joel loves this place. Check it out: Danny owns it, Doris Day, not from China, Johnnie Ray South Tonawanda, Walter Winchell, Sheridan Drive Joe McCarthy, Richard Nixon, Studebaker, Television This food is from, South Korea, Pork Kalbi is nice Rosenbergs, this food's the bomb, Seoul food, Panmunjom Brando, The King And I, all the Kimchi you can buy Eisenhower, Vaccine, Amherst's got a few Koreans What's for lunch, let's all go to, Koreana, good buy! What to get: Garlic Pepper Chicken! Also good: Pork Kalbi, Yuk Gae Jang on Mondays (beef stew), Kimchi I've now tried 4 Korean places in Buffalo, and this one is definitely my second fave (behind Seoul Garden which is about 2 miles north along the NFB). This one edges Korea House and Arirang, but all four places score 5 stars, which probably suggests that I really, really, really like Korean food a lot more than I ever thought I would. This one, out of the four, is the most different from the others. The dishes at the other three are comparable, whereas Koreana only has a few, and they are a bit more "chef's creation" ish. I've had the Pork Kalbi (Tue-Sat only, excellent, but very bony), the Beef Soup thingy aka Yuk Gae Jang (Monday only) which is good but not as good as the one at Seoul Garden and maybe the others, and the Garlic Pepper Chicken, which is part of the "original Chinese menu" and is absolutely excellent, and the best dish on the menu. We'll start with the best dish. Their Chinese menu is more like Danny's home cooking and inventions than anything that's either Chinese or Chi-Am... I've only had the Garlic Pepper Chicken off it, and the taste really blew me away. it's one of the most delicious dishes in all of WNY regardless of cuisine. It's a little pricy at $11, and it's not the largest portion. But it's still AMAZING, so good it is what I order, and will continue to order, and my friend who got it is still asking me when we are going back. So try it. If you only try one thing at this place, make sure it's the Garlic Pepper Chicken. My friend's son had some of it as leftovers and also says it's off-the-charts-amazing. Now on to the other dishes, but in case you misheard me: order the Garlic Pepper Chicken!!! The Pork Kalbi is basically a big hunk of bone with delicious juicy meat attached to it, but the juicy sauce with all the veggies and goodies and spices in it, is what makes it. They also have tasty spicy kimchi on the side as well, which is always good, and you get rice with it. It's hard to get really really full off it because you can't eat the bone, but the taste is so good that it's worth it. It's around $10, so not dirt cheap, but not pricey either. The Monday special is my fave Korean dish but it's not my fave place to get it. The side dishes that come with these Korean meals, though, are probably the freshest tasting and best prepared in the area. Inside it's intimate (sort of like you and I used to be), and cozy, and has all types of clientele. There are enough Korean people coming in here to eat to let you know that the food is somewhat authentic, and regardless, it's certainly delicious. Friendly service and full of actual Koreans are both big factors on why this is such a good sit-down place. Unfortunately the opening hours are limited... closing at 8 and for lunch for a few hours, whereas nearby Seoul Garden (the best YGJ in town) and Peking Quick One (the best Chinese in town) are both open consistently from mid morning until 10pm. Both are less than 5 mins drive from here and have bigger portions too. But the Garlic Pepper Chicken here is arguably more delicious than anything on either of their menus! Another great thing about Koreana is that they have K-Pop on the TV all the time. It will freak you out how similar it is to American pop music, and yet how different. Basically lots of young hot people imitating Western music videos but with their own Korean flair and charm. The owner Danny is really lovely and friendly and helpful, and the food is fresh and hot and delicious and well worth a try. If you like Korean food, check out Koreana and see for yourself how yummy it is. And if your name was Anna and you loved Horror Movies, then you might be known as "Gory Anna." However this would have nothing to do with you, because it's Koreana.

An awesome place for a quick Korean meal! The menu is limited but everything is homemade by the owner/chef (I recommend the noodles). Prices have gone up a dollar here and there the past 4 years I've been in Buffalo but it's definitely worth the price. Everything on the menu is worth trying atleast once. Water and utensils are self service. I recommend the garlic/pepper chicken, seafood noodle soup, and jajeongmyun (noodles in black bean sauce). Tucked behind the Savers shopping complex, it's a quick 5 minute drive from both UB North and South. It makes you feel like you're at home and definitely worth coming here for an early dinner (they close at 8pm).

The cashier was a little gruff, but the woman running back and forth between the kitchen and the front had a better business sense about keeping customers happy. She didn't want me to wait long, so I think she rushed the kitchen a little bit, which I appreciated, but also may have led to some of the demerits on the food I mention below. I was happy to see one dish I ordered, the pig intestine with fish, on their picture board above the cash registers. That gave me confidence that they knew what they were doing and it was the best dish by far out of the three I ordered. The intestine was fresh and flavorful, the spice level was high, but also not too salty. It was a lot of food. Only drawback here was the fish (tilapia?) seemed to be heavy on the breading. The other two dishes were disappointing. Penang curry with pork had good vegetables, but the sauce had too little flavor since they went too heavy on the coconut milk. The pork seemed like chicken, not pork. Way too soft and flavorless. The Singapore Chow Mei Fun had good noodles and veggies. But the curry powder was not blended in. Eating it, I could still feel it in powder form. It was also far too oily. Overall, I think they had a lot of options but next time I'd steer more towards classic Chinese, since that seems to be what they do well. I hope next time the flavors will be stronger and blended better (i.e. powders actually stirred in). I'm willing to give them another chance, since they do have a lot of dishes I like. Last note: the online ordering service does not indicate that dishes come with rice. I thought they would have rice by default, but then when I added the penang curry to my cart, it asked whether I wanted rice or noodles or something else. So that made me think I had to order rice separately, which meant I had twice as much rice as I needed. It also said "quart of white rice" was sold out, but "pint of white rice" was not, yet the rice that came with my meal came in a quart container.
