I was quite dissapointed with the bagel I got from here . I work not to far from this location and was craving a lox and cream cheese bagel, after yelping I came across this bagel store and decided to try it out. For the price of the bagel I was expecting it to be amazing. When I got back to my office and unwrapped my bagel I was in shock, there was hardly any salmon or cream cheese on it. Bagels are absolutely delicious. Every time I come here I order a bagel with scallion cream cheese and a tomato. It is SO good. One of the best bagels that I have ever eaten. The only thing that they could improve upon is their toasting service later in the evening-they say that they are open until 7 pm, but they will only toast your bagel until 5:30 pm or 6 pm. If I return from work at 6:30 pm or 7 pm they will not toast my bagel, so I can only come here if I can manage to get here before 6 pm. The food is good. I have eaten there a number of times. I just wish that there was some kind of line for buying food. You have to fight your way to the counter, and you can't tell who is waiting for their food and who still needs to order. It's just a mob of people in a 50 square foot area. Usually, this place is ok.. and I say ok because they get your order wrong 75% of the time because they think they have a super memory. on top of that, they don't know their own pricing I order the same thing every time and somehow every time I order it it's price tends to fluctuate, I dared to ask why that was and not even they know... they just tell me it should be this all the time. Aside from being taken for a ride, their food is good. I am displeased to write though that I will never go back there because they had the audacity to fight with me and tell me what I normally order was $6.20 rather than being 4$ and some change like it normally is... good bagel, not that good that I should be ripped off every time. I think the coffee is a bit pricey since it's nothing spectacular, just a grade above the convenience stores but it's not DD or Starbucks blend... & the bagels are decent, like I said neither the best/worst I've ever had... Their donuts didn't seem fresh either time I tried them, and I only got a choc chip muffin once because it was so dry & tasteless, I never tried another one.... overall it is OK, I wish Dunkin weren't all the way on Ave J bc I'd prefer going there to be honest.... read more

Great bagels my favorite is the everything bagel. As others have mentioned the bagels are made fresh right in front of you and they taste great. I like their wide selection and I enjoy the tuna fish with tomatoes, onions, pickles and mayo. During the summer time they are closed on Sundays in the Avenue J location which sucks but I understand the summer can be slow. read more

I went here twice. First experience, I have to note how poor the customer service is here. With most Brooklyn deli's I go to, the workers are usually very amicable and inviting. At the bagel hole, the older gentleman, usually in a button up shirt, literally stared at me as I walked to the front of the line without a greeting. I almost felt compelled to say something like "um GOOD MORNING to you too......" just to make him feel awkward. Then he rudely asks if I was going to order, as if I was wasting his time. Another time, the same man is behind me as I'm waiting on line. I believe he was grabbing something and he accidentally shoves into me and I get pushed off the line. Ok, I'm not mad at that because it was an accident, I'm mad at the fact he did not even acknowledge pushing me. Not even with a look, a gesture to say sorry, or any type of verbal cue that acknowledged that I was shoved. Then, like word vomit, I say "excuse you sir" because at this point I know he wasn't going to say anything. How RUDE! Anyways, I ordered, bagel was ok, not the best, not the worst, just normal. I figured a store called the bagel hole would have superb bagels. Not this place. Second experience, I went in with $5 because I had left my wallet at home. I see a special for 'TWO eggs on a bagel w/ small coffee for $4.99 + tax". So I assumed, if i don't get a coffee, and maybe just ONE egg, I'll pay maximum $3.00 and some change. BOY I GUESSED WRONG. The gentleman hands me my bagel w/ ONE egg and say it's $5.43.... $5.43 FOR WHAT?!!?? I said. I told him I didn't get a coffee, and he punched in new numbers and came out with a new total of $5.11........... SO NOW I'M CONFUSED.... a coffee is only worth about .30 cents but a plain bagel with an egg is more than $5. HOW ABSURD. I continued to stress how overpriced and ridiculous their so called "breakfast special" was, gave them the money and walked out. I will never spend another cent for overpriced regular degular bagels ever again. read more

I was super disappointed in my bagel. I'm from NYC and think we have the best bagels and stopped here when I was back in town. I got an everything bagel with lox and scallion cream cheese. It tasted pretty good, but for $8 it was a super small bagel with the lightest smear of cream cheese so I could barely even taste it. I definitely wish I would have gotten the lox spread, more bang for the buck. read more

Whoa - I am sooo glad I arrived when I did on an October Thursday morning: Because the line started developing behind me real quick! Bagels made right behind the counter, nice crust on the outside, soft, good chew in the inside. Bialys are equally fantastic. I bought 16 bagels and bialys with me as a request for friends in Burlington Wisconsin - and they were still warm when I landed! Terrific bagels and lox, but the big surprise was the smoked sable. I never had sablefish before (a.k.a.: black cod): It was more subtle than smoke salmon, soft, almost melt-in-your-mouth texture. Absolutely delicious and my new "must get" next, time around. Service staff are friendly and attentive, even when things get busy (and Kosher Bagel Hole does get busy): When I forgot to tell them to put tomato and red onion on my bagels with lox and sable, they did it happily: Unwrapped the bagels and added the extra ingredients. Prices are good (cheaper than a lot of {well-known} places in Manhattan), especially bagels and lox. And they're just a block away from the Ave. J. station on the "Q" line. Sooo good, sooo right. Came around 11am on a week day, place was reasonably busy, stand in line to order and you wait at the counter for your food. I got a bagel with lox and cream cheese, it was terrific and a great price! There is only one counter bench to eat at, we were able to get a seat. Cool place. read more

I do not think that I have had a better bagel anywhere. I love the crunch of the bagel toasted, with butter melting into all of the crevices. The bagel is substantial and the topping of sesame seeds is generously applied to the entire bagel. If you like your bagel in any way sweet do not go here. If you want your bagel to make you go mm... then this is the place. read more

They catered a party for us and ruined the order. Can you imagine NO CREAM CHEESE? We received phone calls for days from friends and family asking us why we didn't have have cream cheese. The owner, Hesh, was nasty and just gave me $30.00 back after we spent $1,200.00. $30 was for the cream cheese that wasn't delivered; $0 for the embarrassment and to keep us coming back for catering. read more

Bagel Hole is a great place to stop in make an quick order then go. It has fresh bagels and great prices and sandwiches. The only thing is that most of the sandwiches are milcheg and there is not such a great selection of pareve ones.The bagels taste great though! read more

I called upon the Kosher Bagel Hole to cater my son's bris in july. After dealing with a few different vendors we initially chose someone else who few needed to fire last minute. At 4:30pm the day before the bris we called the Kosher Bagel Hole with basically an emergency catering need. Though we had already released the Kosher Bagel Hole they graciously put together a fabulous spread for us and made sure all of our needs were met. They provided delicious food and helpful waitstaff - all within a moment's notice. We so appreciated their willingness to assist. Even if we had not called them in a bind, I would still rate them very well for their food. However, the fact that they provided such fabulous customer service just made me love them even more. Planning a bris is a really stressful experience for a new mom and the staff at the Kosher Bagel Hole handled me with great patience and support.
