So many cream cheese and tofu cheese flavors!

Wow! Such an incredible bagel AND we saw the bagel maker in action! It's a great place. Definitely a line at 10 am on a sunny lovely Saturday. Lines are a good sign, in my opinion. I had a toasted everything Bagel with bacon scallion cream cheese. Man oh man.

I loved this place during my Brooklyn visit. My friend suggested we stop by for a bagel before going to the Brooklyn bridge. It is a small establishment, looks family owned and it did not disappoint! We ordered a bagel with smoked salmon, avocado and tofu cream cheese. At first, I was skeptical about trying the tofu cream cheese because I am not a fan of vegan products (taste-wise) HOWEVER, I could not tell is was NOT dairy cream cheese. It was really good. They have a wide selection of several cream cheeses, I was amazed. The bagel itself is big, I split one with my friend and we both were pretty full. Price is reasonable $13ish? I believe it was. Not bad for a delicious breakfast in a cool area of NYC.

I've been here a few times now and I honestly really like their bagels. I usually get an everything bagel with veggie cream cheese and I loveeeee the veggie cream cheese that they make. It's so good. The bagels are a good size and texture. I also appreciate that they're not shy with the cream cheese. Not sure why this place only has three stars on Yelp. This might be my new favorite bagel spot in the neighborhood.

My favorite bagel spot in Downtown Brooklyn! They always have freshly made bagels with the most delicious flavored cream cheese. The price is budget friendly and different flavored cream cheese never disappoints. Workers are friendly and nice. Order online to avoid the lines in store. Highly recommend!

Proper NY style bagels. That means BIG. Just firm enough on the outside and wonderfully chewy on the inside. Had my bagel in sandwich form with ham and cheese and it was all fresh and excellent. A few little tables and chairs (including some outdoor) make it a suitable place for a quick lunch. Not gourmet, but plenty good.

I popped into Montague's today because it's close to my apartment and I really enjoyed it. I opted for the classic everything bagel with cream cheese, toasted. The bagel was the perfect level of chewy and the cream cheese was delicious. The one thing I would have like is if the everything seasoning had stayed on the bagel a bit better. The bagels in the display window had much more seasoning than I ended up with on mine. All in all though, the price is right, the service is quick, and the food is good. I'll definitely be back!

Good grab and go bagel spot. We had the everything bagel with scallion cream cheese & an everything bagel with bacon scallion cream cheese. We went there around the high school lunch rush so we waited a bit but once we ordered it went fast.

Bagels are amazing but what I love even more are their sandwiches! I highly recommend the pope of montague which is turkey and cheese with gravy. They have a bunch of excellent combination with cool names posted at the counter. You can order custom sandwiches, my favorite being chicken cutlet with lettuce, tomato, onions and bagels on a toasted roll. I do recall eating a very divine sandwich here last year around 3 am so this place is really great for anytime of the day.

Reservations open 2 weeks in advance around 10am and they go super fest so I recommend you try for the day you need as for me I could only have gotten brunch on a Sunday. Those people spam the crap out of their buttons for the dinner spots and when I went I can see why. The place is brimming with old school New York charm and it's completely overwhelmingly beautiful and has an old jazzy vibe to it. It's large and spacious and they sat us in the middle of the entire restaurant. (I had a group of 6) The vibe was so good you don't really want to leave and they also don't really kick you out. I think we were the last ones to exit for brunch but they were so nice they didn't kick us out. Their espresso martinis are ok. It wasn't as amazing as a regular cocktail bar but it is just ok. We started off with a shrimp cocktail, smoked whitefish Caesar salad and the two plates of truffle monkey bread which was soooo good. I really enjoyed this as it's the main reason we came here. It's almost like a honey dinner roll with truffle. We got everything next which some people got their own and some shared. Some people got their own American breakfast platter which was some overdone eggs and a meat with gigantic toast and if you only order scrambled eggs it comes in a bowl but I would much rather order their classics like steak sandwich and the spicy shrimp was pretty good! Fries are top tier! I can see why people just come here for dinner. I would give it mostly 5 stars for the overall ambiance and environment and a few classics. I think their old fashioned is better than their espresso martinis though even though it looks so good in this type of setting! It's hard to get a reservation though so next time I'll need to try some new things if I score another!

Decor/actual restaurant: This particular location is very small and tight with limited in-store seating. The interior is cute, I like the blue color theme they have here. For a restaurant designed for to-go orders, I believe that there could be more waiting room and a couple less chairs. Service: Like many "fast food adjacent" restaurants, the people who work there have good customer service but I imagine deal with the worst. I know they're doing great with the situation they're in. Kudos to them. Food: this is probably my harshest critique. I ordered a pesto chicken sandwich, and it was fine. I don't believe it was worth the $16 I spent though. The chicken was kind of bland, tasted similarly to frozen grilled chicken pieces you buy from a grocery store. I do wish there was more sauce. The pesto tasted good but overall there was too much bread. I fear you would be better off making something like this at home for a comparable price. The bread was good, just too much. I don't want to base the menu on this sandwich alone, a lot of the menu options sounded delicious, but this was just the experience I had!
