I would have given 5 stars BUT they have an absolutely horrible habit of running the vacuum cleaner during the day and evening when people are eating. nothing worse than having someone kick up dust around you when you're eating - not to mention the noise from the vacuum cleaner! A quick pass with a quiet carpet sweeper during serving hours - after people leave their table - would be advisable and not as offensive. leave the vacuuming for when there are no customers eating. read more

This is that restaurant that's close to home so you stop in for a visit when you don't feel like cooking and need someplace reasonable to eat at with your kids. The kids order the Oreo pancakes and you get the open Greek chicken souvlaki, on Fridays you get the fish fry because that's literally what everyone else is doing. The food is on average, as in average good for this type of restaurant... and that's what we want right? Consistency. Consistently good enough that I can keep coming back for more. Insert heart emoji here. I've tried the steak and eggs breakfast, the pancakes, beef/chicken souvlaki and fish fry. On a busy Friday night the waitress forgot the pita for my salad, had a couple limp pieces of the lettuce, one small piece was browning on the edge, I didn't complain, waitress was great even after forgetting my pita. I will say though, would be nicer to have bigger pieces of beef. Another time, I went for breakfast, the steak isn't anything special but that's okay, happy just having steak and eggs, plus, they offer sourdough toast, my personal fav. Ask for it double toasted, they always toast it way too lightly. If you don't want potatoes as a side you can get a fruit salad or side of sliced tomatoes. The pancakes are great, loved them. Lastly, the beer battered fish fry is pretty good, we order this to go when we don't want to sit inside. No complaints about it, try it. Sides are good too. Waitresses are always great, everyone is friendly, serve you with a smile. Even at cash out, the girls behind the counter pay attention to you and your kids, I appreciate the service here. Once, my granddaughter left a small toy in the restroom (eww I know) and one of the servers brought it out and asked if it was ours (she was the only little girl there that morning - don't worry, I cleaned it). They didn't have to do that... again, appreciative. It's things like that, good food and great service, that make you want to come back again. I understand the place was remodeled. I like the ambience, nice bright open space, they have booths and tables, good for families or a quick business lunch. During the weekday morning you'll see a cute senior crowd, Fridays host lots of local working families just out to have a nice dinner. I like to come mostly on the weekends, I invite friends for brunch to catch up with, the waitresses let us talk and enjoy our time (I never feel rushed even though the food comes out fast). They have a couple TV's around the restaurant, they accept cash and card, they use one of those iPad card readers to cash you out and there's plenty of parking. Enjoy. read more

I had the jalapeno omelette and substituted the toast for fresh tomatoes. Hubby had the meat lovers omelette with the same substitution. Both were good. I have to tell you this has been my go to place for years for chicken Slovakia. After my experience the other day, I will only go to Alton's. The home fries were completely tasteless even with onions in it, and they were undercooked, and the chicken was overcooked. The waitress didn't seem to have time to refill our glasses and was busy talking to what seemed to be the regular customers. Very disappointed. Will not be going back anytime in the near future. It's a shame because I love that. It's a family owned business and I love to support that. But I'm not paying $20 for a meal that is less than subpar. After several visits here for breakfast, all I can say is that it has been consistently good. Omelets, eggs Benedict, pancakes, all very good with good black coffee (A must for good breakfast.) staff is always friendly and accommodating. My only con of the place is that it feels very commercialized, like an iHop. I know it's family owned so I do t hold that against them, I just typically prefer the feeling of a mom and pop restaurant. Very dining hall like vibe, but again that's not a bad thing I'm just knit picking. Will definitely be back and would like to try the lunch menu. read more

First time coming here and it was fantastic!! They have plenty of seating and staff! The menu was ENORMOUS and left me feeling a little overwhelmed with choices but the good news is - there is something for EVERYONE! I think the only thing they didn't have was pizza lol - they do also have a children's menu and a senior menu! Nice! And a separate menu with desserts and specialty coffee. They even have bloody Mary's and mimosas! Wowzer! I was working in the cold and decided to first warm up with a hot chocolate - they give you a generous mug and will give you plenty of whipped topping, sprinkled with powdered cocoa! It was nice to smell the cocoa before having a sip. It was delicious but very very sweet! I would not recommend ordering hot cocoa with a dessert because I think it would be sweetness overkill. My friend ordered the senior meatloaf and was very happy with his order. I wanted breakfast for dinner and settled on French toast, which you can get all sorts of way but I just stuck to the original! And I got sausage links and home fires with peppers and onions. My eyes were bigger than my stomach when my food came out! Generous portion sizes for sure!! Everything was fantastic! The sausage links are fatter than you may be used to seeing but taste just as the skinnier ones do. Charli was our waiter (at least that was the name I saw on the receipt) and she was just awesome!! She was great at her job! I also enjoyed just the homestyle feel of it all. There was a TV with game shows on and a table near us was guessing the wheel of fortune answers. After they left, we enjoyed some Hollywood squares and chatted a bit after our meal and were not rushed out at all. I ordered the turkey bacon club on rye. There is choice of a side salad, fries or soup. I had the salad with ranch dressing. It is a very nice sized bowl of lettuce, cucumber, red onion, chopped green peppers and diced tomatoes. My sandwich was a surprise. The 4 quarters filled a platter! There was a very nice amount of turkey and bacon in each 1/2 of the quarters, above and below the middle piece of toasted rye bread. For $13.99, it is a very good and generous lunch. I haven't been here in a couple of years, my mom wanted to go for lunch. We arrived around 11:40am, and we're seated immediately despite how busy they were. There seemed to be no shortage of servers to take care of everyone. The service was excellent. I ordered the open chicken souvlaki, and it was outstanding. So many different versions of lettuce, no iceberg in this beautiful salad! Other ingredients included green pepper, red onion, tomatoes and Greek olives. The marinated chicken was excellent, and plentiful. 2 small cups of tzaki sauce comes along with it and a toasted pita. I give this entree an A+, with only one small exception... this is way too much food to eat at one sitting! Would you please consider offering a half size version?? I took half of it home and had it for dinner. But by that time, all of the lettuce had become waterlogged and very soggy, not appetizing at all. Please, please consider selling a half version? I hate to see good food go to waste. I'm sure many people would be willing to pay $8.99 or $9.99 for a half version. Thanks! read more

The food was good the problem was the service. It's possible it's become an industry standard since I've experienced this at other restaurants. There was a time where restaurants would take the time to ask if you wanted a dessert before giving you the check. Now it's assumed either you don't want a dessert or you want dessert as a take out. The customer doesn't even have time to answer. The customer isn't part of the conversation. I understand people are in a constant rush these days. For me it adds stress to my meal it adds stress to me and due to health issues I have come to realize I can no longer enjoy a meal out because of this rushed environment. My experience has made me realize that a relaxing dinner out no longer exists. read more

The servers and employees are always super friendly, so that is why I rounded up. My issues are mostly with the prices. They have gone up significantly and I don't think the food goes along with the price. A children's meal of pancakes and one sausage is $8. Most restaurant prices have gone up and I feel ok with it but $14 for a basic sandwich or $8 for a pancake that isn't "wow" is a bit much. I also find their house greek dressing to just be a bit blah. There's not any flavor. I've had better at other area restaurants. This isn't a bad place by any means. It's just average and with the increase in prices, I can't justify going frequently or a higher review. read more

Easily my go to family restaurant for brunch or a quick lunch. The food always comes out amazingly fast. NEVER have I had a bad meal. The eggs Benedict is one of my top breakfast picks. The potatoes that come with it are always flavorful and have crispy pieces throughout and they ask if you want onions atop which is def a must. The waitresses are friendly and attentive and always have your coffee filled right up. The chicken souvlaki wrap...WOW. My current go to no matter the hour. They do not skimp on the chicken!!! The food was very tasty. The sandwich that I got had grilled chicken tenders on it. About 1/4 of the way through one half of the sandwich, I bit down on something hard. I pulled out a chicken bone, easily 3 inches long. I put it aside to show and tell the waitress. Her reaction was to say that it was because it is fresh chicken... I informed her that I am aware of that fact, and asked her to please let someone know so that it doesn't happen to someone else. She stated that they are aware of it and they just told her to let the customers know that it is because it's fresh chicken. I also let the hostess know about everything as we paid our bill. Neither the waitress, nor the hostess apologized at any point. The 2 stars is for flavor of the food.... Had the ladies simply apologized and at least pretended to be concerned, this would have been 3 stars. Sad- because I have been here a number of times without issue. read more
