A Hidden Gem! No I am not exaggerating... been living in Bay Area for more than 17 years and have visited many Thai restaurants - both cheap and fancy ones. This one can easily given them all the run for their money and would surely win a blind-tasting competition. In 3 days visit we ate there twice and thoroughly enjoyed it. We ordered Pad Thai, Red Curry, Green Curry and Vegetarian Soup and they were all excellent. Also they don't use MSG in any of their preparations which can be a problem for people like myself. Good food, terrible service. There aren't too many options for dining out in clearlake. So it's not too often that we get too, when we do we would like it to be an enjoy experience. So it's really disappointing when we do and our experience leaves us not wanting to go back. The waitress was very rude, and had an attitude. We felt rushed, unwelcome, bullied to hurry up and order. I decided to go around my new neighborhood and check out the locals. This restaurant, completely not recommendable. Please spare yourselves. Dirty Plate, Dirty Table: One of our plates had a smudge of food when I haven't even eaten yet! I accidentally placed my hand under the table and felt something sticky. Yuck! Bad Service: The first waitress was impatient and did not want to be asked about the menu items which I understood why after the hostess was scolding the other waiter while dumping my left over food in a box, at our table, in front of my face. Best of all, the "prawn" on their vegetable spring roll was inserted as an after thought which explained why it was an "additional" choice for that appetizer. Of course, when two of them fell out, I had to request for another, thrice, and all attempts, to no avail. My husband and I were completely ignored. Lastly, please take off the Valentine's decor and complete your attempt to adorn your restaurant for St. Patrick's. My chicken was raw in the middle. To their credit they didn't just throw it back on the grill, they gave me a fresh dish. But raw chicken is not a good sign for the kitchen. And to boot I found the Satay funky tasting. I may try again sometime, but for now I am not impressed. read more

I was extremely disappointed!! I had heard good feedback from some friends, so we got take out the other evening. The Pad Thai with Shrimp was horrible. All the noodles had clumped together into one glob. Not very flavorful and the worst Pad Thai I have ever had. The fried Spring Rolls were good and some other fried appetizers were good, but not good enough to warrant trying again. I just don't understand, how can you mess up Pad Thai?? The prices are high for the portion sizes as well. But note, we don't mind the price if the food is very good. This just was a major disappointment. read more

Short version: Worth trying: the curry (the weekly special -- a pumpkin curry) was quite good; the pad thai a little sweet, but well prepared (fresh); the stir-fried vegetables quite good -- not too oily or salty. Brown rice -- good. Ice tea (unsweetened) refreshing. Place was clean, decorated with simple Thai themes with a pleasant view of the lake. Singha (Thai beer) available. We went late on a Monday night (about 8 PM). From the outside, the restaurant is nothing to look at. Simple signage. Unassuming exterior. Inside, I noted the photo of the Thai king and queen, indicating (to me) that the owners were in fact ethnic Thai (vice ethnic Chinese, for example) who retain a strong affinity to native Thailand. Interior decorations reflected simple Thai folk themes. Another sign indicated live music on Wednesdays (not Thai). In the corner, a Thai version of MTV was playing at a low volume. Owner and staff obviously Thai -- I did have some trouble communicating that I wanted "unsweet tea", but the staff was more than anxious to please, and with some good humor we worked it all out. Our preference is vegan (I do eat fish), and the staff was more than willing to accommodate, giving us tofu in our curry vice the advertised chicken. I love sushi, and noted the the other comments regarding sushi, so ordered a california roll, two pieces of salmon nigiri sushi, and a rainbow roll. Sushi is not this restaurant's strong suit. The sushi was okay, but I recommend a focus on the Thai food. The california roll had cream cheese! Not my preference. But I still ate more than my fair share! Bottom line: reasonable ambiance (suitable for a beach restaurant), staff happy to please, decent Thai food, especially the curry and vegetable dishes, Thai beer, Thai tea. If you're vegetarian, I would recommend this restaurant in a heartbeat, and from that perspective, would happily go again. read more

Great view of the lake from here. Staff members were so nice and came to check on us. They have a stage that seems to be set up for music performers. Good atmosphere here. In regards to food, we got the fresh spring rolls, red curry, pad thai, and mango sticky rice. All of it was well made and delicious. They seemed to tend to the sweet side so it's perfect for those who have a sweet tooth. I would come here again if I was in the area and try more of their curry. read more

As we usually do while on one of our day trips, we ask yelp for good restaurants near us. Today, we are at Clear Lake in northern California. We love Thai food and Kour Thai had a 4.5 star rating. Our Green Curry and Pad Thai were fabulous. Service was great. We watched plate after plate come past us and they were all beautiful. Steaming hot and loaded with fresh vegetables! Pictures would do their food justice more than a number on the menu. This place doesn't look much from the outside, but it hits all the check marks once you get iside. Lots of lovely Thai decorative details, good food with dependable favorites (I got the chicken Panang curry)., And a great view of the lake. It is a bit pricey though for a small town restaurant, but you can still get an entree, a drink, tax and tip for under $20. Clear Lake is not the kind of town where I would expect to find great sushi or Thai food, but the reviews were so good we had to try it out. Even if we had wanted to order sushi, we were immediately told upon entry by our surly server that no sushi was available. This was fine by us. Confusing though, as the table besides us proceeded to order and receive sushi. We stuck to Thai and were really dissapointed, all the dishes had the same array of mismatched and undercooked vegetables, the soup was some of the worst I've had at a restaurant. The service was fine but the servers were rude, however that seems to be a normal occurrence in the area. One odd thing is that the hours are not true to those that are listed, beware, they may close earlier than stated! The sign has been amended with sharpie to say they close between 8-9. The table next to us was rudely told to take their food home because they closed at 8:30 Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time or money! read more

This place was very good! My boyfriend and I came here on a day trip to Clear Lake and this place perfectly satisfied our Thai craving. We got the duck curry, some chicken fried rice and sizzling duck dish. All of it was super delicious! The spice level was spot on too, not too spicy but not too bland either. We also got Thai iced teas, which were perfectly sweet and tasty. The atmosphere was great too, with a lot of cool artwork and pictures on the walls and interesting Asian themed knick knacks scattered around. It seemed like the kind of place that would be really busy on a Friday night. All in all I would highly recommend this place to anyone who has a good taste for Thai food, or even just wants something fun to do when craving Thai! read more

Terrible service. Waitresses don't listen to customers. They tried telling us we ordered a special when we ordered our usual and said we couldn't take the food home. They never informed us that there was a special in the first place (besides the small writing in the middle page inside of the menu). The new waitress told her boss that she DID inform us, lying to my boyfriend and I, straight to our face, saying we order the special. We offered to pay full price and take the food home but they said no and that she trusts her new waitress. She told us not to come back. Very disappointing... I don't usually write reviews but this place did it for me. My boyfriend and I have been going here for 6 years, spending countless hundreds--very well over $1000 at this place. We always tipped well. I just don't understand how or why this happened. A good night gone bad because of poor customer service... Today I wanted to celebrate the many amazing things happening in my life. SO what better way to do that then treating myself to some Drunken Noodles. I really was not sure what to expect with the varied reviews from 1 to 5 stars, however I went in with an open mind. I reviewed the menu carefully and ultimately decided to go with the Chicken Drunken Noodles and Tempura Veggies. The sauce was a bit sweet so I requested some peanut sauce for dipping the veggies. When I received the main course first I was kind of shocked not only because it came first but because of the portion size {smaller then norm}. But when I tasted them, I realized it wasn't about the size but the content. AMAZING. I absolutely enjoyed every bite. The owners were very pleasant and when asked were eager to share the different chili sauces they make in house for me to take home. Next trip I plan to try the Sushi.
