They start you off with complimentary bread which was tasty. I loved the French onion soup and the margarita pizza appetizers. I got the honey garlic rib entree and was pleasantly surprised the ribs were very meaty and tender! The fried were great as well. My mom also enjoyed her filet mignon. We were greeted warmly, seated quickly, and our waitress was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. The food was excellent. The stuffed squash blossoms were absolutely delicious, I could have ordered another plate! I also had the meatloaf with veggies and mashed potatoes , which was flavorful and perfectly cooked. My husband ordered the Kingsley Burger and loved it. The only miss for me was the watermelon drink. It looked refreshing, but it tasted more like sparkling seltzer water than the fruity drink I was expecting. My only criticism is something I wish all restaurants would change: calculating suggested tip percentages after tax instead of before tax. It can make it seem like you're tipping less than you actually are. Overall, the food, service, and ambiance were wonderful, and we'd definitely come back. Worth the drive to Kent!

We really liked the place that was in the location previously and we're always scouting for new restaurants so I was pleased when I saw some notices last weekend that Contempo was having a soft opening. Usually, I would wait a few weeks for a new place to get into a groove before posting a review because the first few weeks is when a place works out the kinks of starting a new operation, but I'm going to go ahead and rate this place now, even though they've only been open a week. After I saw the menu, I knew I had to try it and I was very impressed. We stopped by on a Friday and it was completely packed! Our waitress said they had not expected such a turnout but they managed it well. The renovation inside is lovely and I like the brightness and the soothing colors. The menu is great...there's something for everyone. Being married to a Turk, I gravitated towards the Turkish offerings but don't worry about bringing a group with varied tastes here. In addition to the wonderful Turkish food, there are burgers (which looked and smelled great), chicken wings, pizza and pasta so there are lots of options. Service was very friendly from start to finish. They have a full cocktail menu and the bar scene already looked lively. We started with some ezme, which is sort of like a Turkish salsa with tomatoes, peppers, onions and herbs. It was a little spicy, which I liked and was great with the terrific bread they serve. We then had some cheese borek. This is basically cheese stuffed in a phyllo type pastry and rolled up. They were very good. Sometimes they can be greasy or oily but these were not that way at all. I liked them very much, although if they were a little more done, they would have been even more amazing. After filling up on appetizers, we could barely finish the entree we split, which was the mixed grill. This featured doner, chicken shish, lamb shish, lamb adana & kofte (sort of a meatball). Everything was very good...particularly the lamb adana and the chicken shish. It came with pilaf and bulgur and a small salad. It was plenty for the two of us. Again, it's not really fair to rate a place that's only been open a few days but if I didn't know they just opened, I would still give them this rating. We can't wait to come back and taste more of the menu. (I'll note that the other reviews for this place from blank profiles with only one review and show locations in Maine and NY, so take that as you will)
