Pros: Plenty of parking around the restaurant, the food is delicious, fast service Cons: appetizer buffet is a scam. There's chicken nuggets, fries and sponge cake. I expected Asian style appetizers or something more on theme, the servers brought too much food out at once which caused chaos and confusion, the grills kept turning off, the staff didn't not clear empty dishes fast enough, they need better ventilation. You can see the smoke upon entry and you leave smelling like the food. The ambiance is nice and the place is spacious. Wouldn't recommend for a large group.

This is a fun interactive way to enjoy dinner. We had a little weight before dining so we were able to run over to Marshalls while we waited. They have a texting service that sends you a message when your table is ready so that is very helpful. They also have a nice bar area for you to get drinks or to hang out while you wait for your meal. Our server was very helpful throughout dinner and guided us through the ordering process. Service is very fast and you get items quickly after you order them. I love the sauce bar and all of the different options you have for making sauces. there was a good variety of options if you don't eat meat and eat only seafood so that is very helpful. There's also a lot of different vegetable options and meat options too. Because of all of the different items being cooked, there are a lot of sense and so our clothes did pick up on a lot of that smokiness when we left so just a heads up! But overall, this is a fun way to do dinner and I look forward to coming back.

Such a fun experience. A little pricey but worth it to try so many different items. server was very good at explaining the hot pot vs bbq & how to order. We ordered so many items to add to our hotpots. Tried many different meats & veggies. There were 3 of us & we all got different soup bases. Took about 2hrs for the meal. The place is relatively new & the decor is minimal but clean & the tables w the hot plates & bbq center are fun.

This was our first experience with Hotpot. I must say we were impressed. We were seated quickly and the waiter explained the process of ordering. It was overwhelming. The choices of meats and vegetables were appropriate. The waiter checked back several times to ensure we were satisfied. We had to move tables as the cookware was not heating appropriately. Overall, our experience was good and we will return.

Update for dinner beef menu. I ate the hanger steak, KPOT steak, and KPOT short ribs; they are all delectable. Would be great if the steak is a little bit thicker so that we can really feel that we are eating steak, else it feels like the rest of the beef. The service on a busy day is terrible; there are times that you have to wait for a long time for them to change your grill.

I wouldn't even want to cook food in the comfort of my own home. But it was my little brother's birthday, and my parents told him he could go anywhere he wanted to go. Somebody probably told him this was where cool people have their dinner. He's an impressionable youth, despite being well into his 40s at this point. I was familiar enough with Korean barbecue and hot pot to know what they are (maybe I'd seen them on the Food Network at some point), but I wasn't in the least bit interested. The novelty of cooking it yourself there at the table just doesn't appeal to me. Nor would it have occurred to me that such a restaurant would exist in this location, in a corner of the parking lot of the world's most God forsaken shopping center, home to a Ross Dress for Less, a Five Below, a Rainbow *and* a Marshalls, almost in a ditch. Did they even have to pay for this space? Is that why the decor on the inside is so fancy? I kid, but there are many aspects of this place that I found weirdly charming. All of the waitstaff look like juvenile delinquents. All of the patrons are wearing either skanky club attire, possibly purchased at the aforementioned Rainbow, or workout clothes. Not athleisure, mind you (which I don't respect either), but something you'd wear to the gym. At the front door, there's a lengthy list of rules against things like verbally abusing the waitstaff, allowing your kids to run wild, asking for your check to be split umpteen different ways, so on and so forth. You get the sense that there was something that happened here that led them to come up with these rules. The crowd when I visited was definitely colorful, but everyone seemed to be on their best behavior, for what it's worth. They give you this menu when you walk in, but there's really only two menu items, Korean barbecue and hot pot. They're both, as of 10/5/25, $31 each, or you can pay $36 and get both. I would imagine the vast majority of people just get both, since it's only $5 more, and since they force you to if anyone at the table orders both. If I were going by myself, hypothetically speaking, I'd just get the hot pot. Tossing everything into a broiling cauldron and letting it do its work is much less of a pain, and it's plenty of food by itself. I finished the entire pot and a considerable amount of barbecue, but I'm a very large man and I'd run a marathon that morning (no, really). No one else at my table did. You order by selecting various meats and vegetables from a tablet. If you wanted to, you could order one of each. I'm not sure how they'd fit it all on the table, nor is it clear to me that they brought us every single thing that we ordered. Regardless, they brought us more than we could eat. It wasn't clear what each thing was, who ordered it or whether it was supposed to go into the pot or on the grill. With the pot, it didn't matter as much. You just tossed as many things in there as would fit and let it cook for a few minutes. With the grill, you never knew quite how long to cook things. The tendency was to overcook the beef and undercook the chicken. If there's anyone at your table who's sensitive about that sort of thing, forget about it. I did enjoy the food. I went with the Thai Tom Yum base for my hot pot. It had a nice kick to it. I added ramen noodles, bok choy and all manner of random meats and seafood from around our table, including strips of beef, pork, some sort of fish, shrimp (which I had to fish out and unpeel), and, weirdly, a few whole quail eggs. It was a hearty meal unto itself. I tried pretty much everything that went on the grill, regardless of whether I ordered it. That was also pretty good. There were things that were advertised as spicy that came preseasoned. Those are probably your best bet. Many of the options are just raw, sliced meat. You can coat them in a marinade from a DIY sauce bar but, depending on what you select, your grill could end up a sticky mess. A guy came out at some point and switched ours out, probably when he saw it smoking too much. I'd eat this food again if there was a way that I could pay a reasonable amount to get it premade. But that's just me. I'm lazy, and a spoilsport. If the concept appeals to you, you might want to have a look. Certainly, it's unlike anything else in the area.

Don't judge a book by its cover cause the outside looks mid but the inside is BANGING! I've been to a KPOT in Florida and I'm so glad they opened one in STL! Interestingly, the menu was a little different but they had a lot of the same offerings. The service was prompt, the food was great, and my crew had a fabulous time. Definitely coming back :)

A pleasant experience yet again. I will say this time I went with a bigger party for lunch time and the portions they send out for bigger parties were the same and when I went with a party of two total. This put you in the position of having to take turns to eat instead of being able to feed everyone at once. I suspect it's in an effort to reduce food waste, but I would just adjust the portion based on the party size.

We went there last week and because the grill does not work well they offered us both BBQ and the hotpot for one price! We ordered some drinks at the bar. The waiting was about 40 minutes. Always love this place. They opened a new location in West County and want to try that soon as well.

My first time doing a joint all you can eat KBBQ and Hot Pot in St. Louis! As a vegetarian, I was ecstatic there were vegan broth options as well as plenty of sides. The mushroom broth is so savory and has a great umami factor, I could've drank the entire thing. There is a two hour maximum but it was plenty of time to cook the food and be completely stuffed. Will be back!

    All finished!

Got to try the very highly recommended Kpot for my birthday weekend! We originally tried to go to dinner Friday night but once hearing the wait would be 1 hr and 10 mins we decided to come back the next day and try again earlier and do a late lunch. This worked out great! Arrived around 2, were told 30 mins wait. Took a seat at the bar right up front and ordered a drink while we waited. Bartender was nice, (obviously very busy) and the drinks were tasty! I went with the Lychee Martini (lychee purée, Absolut & Saki) Once at the table we were greeted promptly by our server Kelly and instructed on how to use the tablet to order our food for Hotpot & Bbq (we did the combo cuz why not for $5 more?) I got the spicy tom soup base and he went with the miso ... I think mine was better :) The atmosphere here busy busy and they have a very modern interior ( neon lights, black grey decor) Every table was filled so the place was busy from the moment we got there til the time we left. The bf went to the sides buffet and grabbed us some of their wings and these were great! We ordered maybe 30 things for the table... definitely were full and stayed satisfied the entire time. The experience was a great one and we will for sure be back to do this again! Only negative I can say is the restrooms were kinda busted and need a bit of repair but considering the amount of people moving thru each day i can kind of understand this would happen and would be hard to maintain constantly.

We got there for an early dinner and we are glad we did! By the time we left, it had gotten very busy. If you don't leave smelling like you've taken a sauna in a bbq steam room, are you even hotpot-ting? We all got hotpot. My broth was the tom yum. All you can eat was a bit spotty. We ordered several items that never came. But that's ok, our waiter was really good and helped get some of our missing items to our table. We wish there were a few more items offered, but having all you can eat will limit the variety. Would come back, it's a great deal!

I've been wanting to try this place for a while and glad I was able to finally go today. Upon arriving there is a small parking lot directly in front of the building but there is plenty of parking off to the side. When entering I noticed the outside needed to be cleaned up as there was broken concrete, and cigarette butts near the door. Entering into the doors there is a small lobby and another set of doors that takes you directly to the bar and hostess stand. There are some seats to sit at in the event they are really busy. There was debris that looked like it was swept up into a pile but not discarded. We were seated immediately, and we had a party of 4. The server came over within 5 minutes to explain how everything works and to take our drink orders. My family and I did the hot pot and Korean BBQ . I ordered the Thai Tom Yum broth and ordered all the meats and veggies I wanted. The broth was spicy, but not overly spicy. It reminded me of a spicy tomato soup. The meats for the Korean BBQ were ok. I liked all the spicy options as those seemed to be seasoned. Our server was Jaylen. He checked on us occasionally. He was friendly but his service could've been a little better as we had to always ask for refills even when it was visible that our drinks needed to be refilled. I will definitely try this place again, as my family liked the experience.

A Great Hole-in-the-Wall Korean Spot…read more I was really in the mood for Korean food, and as Korean culture has become more mainstream, I've noticed that some Korean restaurants have started to feel a bit commercialized. As someone who cooks Korean food myself and spent time living in Korea, sometimes you just want a simple, authentic, no-frills spot that focuses on the food. Thankfully, Asian Kitchen Korean Cuisine, located at 8423 Olive Blvd., St. Louis, MO, delivered exactly that. I knew I was probably in the right place as soon as I walked in and was greeted by one of the owners, whose direct and no-nonsense personality reminded me of many family-run restaurants I've visited over the years. It gave the place a lot of character. I kept my order simple and went with the beef bulgogi, while my sister ordered the chicken bulgogi. Both came with rice and kimchi. We also shared an order of vegetable potstickers, which were fried perfectly. Everything was delicious. The food had a homemade quality that felt comforting and authentic. The bulgogi was flavorful, the kimchi was satisfying, and the potstickers were easily one of the highlights of the meal. We ordered everything to go, so unfortunately I didn't get any photos, but the food definitely spoke for itself. One thing to keep in mind is that there may be a bit of a wait, but that's because the food is prepared fresh. If you're willing to be patient, it's well worth it. Overall, if you're looking for solid Korean food in the St. Louis area and don't mind a straightforward, family-run atmosphere, Asian Kitchen is a great choice. 4 out of 5 stars.

TLDR: Good Food, But A Lot of Red Flags…read more I had been wanting to try Shabu Day for a while and finally made it out. The food was honestly really good -- but there is a lot this place needs to fix before I can fully recommend it. The first thing that hit me when I walked in was the smell. And not in a good way. It smelled like a sewer. Not what you want when you are about to sit down and eat. It lingered the entire time we were there and was really hard to get past. The front of the restaurant looks okay at first glance. But once you sit down you start noticing things. The tables are wobbly and clearly rigged up with makeshift fixes. Extension cords are running visibly across the floor which looks bad and feels unsafe. The menus and sauce bottles were sticky -- like they had not been wiped down in a long time. Little things like that add up fast. I caught a glimpse of the back of the house and it looked grimy and dirty. That is a problem at any restaurant, but especially at a place where you are cooking your own food right at the table. The staff were not very welcoming either. They were hard to find when you needed something and did not seem very interested in making sure you were having a good time. Now here is the thing -- the food was actually fresh and delicious. The broth was flavorful and the ingredients were good quality. That part genuinely impressed me. But for the price they are charging? The total package is just not there yet. Good food can only carry a restaurant so far. They need to clean things up -- literally -- before I come back. UPDATE: One more thing worth mentioning that I think is really important. Shabu Day is strictly all you can eat -- and that is the only option they offer. For most people that is fine. But for anyone with a medical condition that limits how much they can eat, this format is a serious problem. You are being charged full all you can eat prices for food you physically cannot consume in that quantity. That is not fair and it is not inclusive. A lot of restaurants in this space offer a la carte or smaller portion options for exactly this reason. Shabu Day should do the same. It is a simple change that would make a big difference for a lot of people and would show that they actually care about all of their customers -- not just the ones who can eat the most. Clean things up, fix the smell, train your staff to be more welcoming, and give people a fair way to order. The foundation is there. Now build on it.

There's something incredibly comforting about sitting down to a bubbling hot pot when it's freezing outside. The first time we tried the extra spicy Sichuan broth, and the second time we went with the chicken broth. Mixing the two creates the perfect balance -- rich, flavorful, and just the right level of heat. We've also tried the sliced chicken, shrimp, and fish. My personal favorite combination is cooking the shrimp and cod together with lots of vegetables. The veggies are fantastic -- especially the corn on the cob, chestnuts, and broccoli. Another fun feature is the toppings bar where you can customize your sauces and garnishes. I love adding sesame seeds for extra crunch, along with chili oil, fresh cilantro, and spring onions. And honestly, even just slurping down the soup at the end is a treat in itself. The service is really great. The ambiance is a bit average, but once you're immersed in the whole hot pot experience and enjoying the food, it honestly doesn't matter. Kinda bland, but again I don't love the other offerings. The other people I was with enjoyed the shrimp, lobster balls, and mushrooms. I probably wouldn't come back because I also don't love the cooking aspect. This would probably be really fun if you were with people that had the same pallet/weren't picky
