On 2/2/2026, I dined at Texas Roadhouse. I chose their restaurant because they were doing a benefit in which all the proceeds would go to the American Tinnitus Association. The benefit was also held to honor the legacy of the restaurant's founder, Kent Taylor. The parking lot at the South Lindbergh location was somewhat difficult to navigate for two reasons: they were busy and there was still a lot of snow on the ground in the St. Louis area. My advice is to get there before the dinner rush hour. Most of my experience was positive except for the table size. If you are a party of one, you can expect to be seated in one of their small booths. The tabletop is cluttered with condiments, menus, and advertisements for specialty drinks like their mocktails. Even though they were busy, my wait for a table was less than five minutes. My server was attentive and acknowledged me within a minute of my being seated. The meal started with rolls that have a honey butter glaze on the outside. They are served with cinnamon butter. The butter itself adds to what would otherwise be an ordinary dinner roll. I ordered water and coffee. Kudos to my server for asking me if I wanted lemon with my water. That hardly ever happens. Coffee was strong, but not bitter. For my first side, I chose a house salad with Caesar dressing. I was informed that all salad dressings are made in-house. The tomatoes were fresh. They used a variety of lettuce, so it wasn't all iceberg lettuce. The croutons had just the right amount of crunch. In addition, the salad had a nice blend of shredded cheese, red cabbage, and carrots. For an appetizer, I ordered fried pickles. They were lightly battered but a little on the salty side. This is something I'm very picky about--I'd rather have other spices like pepper than salt on my food. They were still tasty. When I go back, however, I'll make it a point to order a different appetizer. The fried pickles are served with either a basic ranch dressing or a thousand island-based sauce that has some kick to it. Both are good, but I prefer the latter. I did have ample time to finish my salad before the 12-oz, Fort Worth Ribeye arrived. It was well-marbled and flavorful as advertised. I ordered it medium. My server asked me to check the steak and make sure it was how I wanted it. The steak was somewhat thin, so it's to their credit that it was cooked to perfection. The ribeye comes smothered in mushrooms and onions unless you request it otherwise. I asked for my onions on the side and that turned out to be a wise move. I also ordered a baked potato which was loaded with sour cream, butter, bacon bits, and cheese. I ordered my dessert to go. The server suggested apple pie. It comes with caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream. It's good, but it's also very sweet. Overall, I had an excellent meal and great service. Experience: Stopped in during the week with the family to grab dinner. Was greeted at the front and requested seating for party of 4. We were called for our seating but I was unable to tell who was seating us. It was actually awkward as so many people was walking by and none was signaling or stated to follow them. I looked back to the attended to asked who were we supposed to be following. She had to quickly scanned the area herself. When she pointed out who we were following to our table, then stated "she grabbing bread and utensils, she will be right with you." The lady did not have a pleasant face. Seemed like we were going to cause her an hassle to serve us, or she was forced to come to work. I understand that people have lives outside of work and I dont know what she have going on in her personal life. She walked us over to our seat and I kindly requested a table instead of a booth due to my mom's inability to navigate it. Needless to say, she created a scene and had attitude when I asked about a near by table. I offered to wait in the front until a table opened up although seeing some that were emptied. The MOD was kind enough to seat us at a different boothe that didn't have a step up, although that wasnt my request. I went with it nevertheless to say. Our Server: Ethan saved the night! I almost left because I hate the feeling of embarrassment or feeling like I am a bother to others. I told Ethan about our experience and he apologized. He was so soft spoken and seemed genuinely sweet. He gave us recommendations and checked on us frequently. I ordered a steak, however it was not done to my liking. Was overcooked more than I would of like and I actually didnt care for the mushrooms I added to it. I wrestled with the idea of sending it back due to earlier experience. I'm glad I brought it up with Ethan because he actually encouraged me to send it back because "he wanted me to enjoy my meal and have a great time." I'm glad I did, because the replacement was DELICIOUS! It was brought out by the manager and he waited at the table for me to cut into it to make sure it was just right. I'm glad I didn't leave because I ended up having a great time with my family and we all enjoyed our meals. I've been here several times now and the food is good. They have quite a variety of foods available, so you're sure to find something to eat even if you're picky. But beware they use a lot of MSG in their seasoning so if you have problems with MSG, then you should ask them to leave it out. It's a loud restaurant with lively music and occasionally the wait staff comes out and does Line dancing in the aisles. It has a fun playful vibe. They even offered me to join them in the aisle dancing. I would say it feels like a family style restaurant with a little bit of bar. They offer cocktails, mocktails, wines, beer, and so forth. There are TVs throughout The wait staff is so friendly at least three of them said hello to us on our way in. And wished us a good evening as we left. I gave it four stars instead of five because I want to reserve the five stars for excellent, high-end dining. read more

Had an amazing dinner at Texas Roadhouse last night. My son had the chicken fried chicken with green beans. He said it was very good. The cream gravy paired nicely with the chicken. My wife had the Texas roadkill. There was also no complaints about her meal which included a Caesar salad and the green beans. I had the 14 ounce ribeye cooked exactly the way I ordered and I paired mine also with the Caesar and the green beans it was all very good. Our server Lee took very good care of us. Our waitress was very nice, the staff even did a weird line dance randomly as we were there - a trick they use when the kitchens backed up !! Loved the little extra lore and things like peanuts to round out the entire experience. TRH is always hit or miss. This time we had a good experience. The food was fresh and tasted good. Our server AG was kind and attentive and others came around to check on our table as well. We initially came for the early dinner specials but got the time wrong. It ends at 5pm and we arrived afterwards. Put our name in online and it said 20 minutes but it was a bit longer than that. Once we were seated our service was pretty great. The rolls came out super fast and are one of the best parts of Texas Roadhouse. My friend got a beer and a steak and I got the steak kabob. Both were good although I think the cut of meat used for the kabobs wasn't the best. The green bean side I got was also really nice. Everything felt clean and half way through our meal the servers preformed a dance. I don't know if that is something they usually do but you could tell most of them didn't want to be doing the dance so it felt a little awkward. Love Texas Roadhouse typically, but just too much negative added up to being a poor overall experience. The visit was on Mother's Day, so they were crushed. However, some things regardless cannot be excused. The parking lot was packed and offered challenge. However no issues with debris. The major hurdle was use the "join waitlist" feature which has worked flawless in the past. Unfortunately it did not push out our table was ready well past the time frame. The super hostess staff owned the mistake and sat my party of five in minutes. The dining room is typical and was clean. Our server tried as hard and was completely overwhelmed and apparently green. He was very nice and worked hard the entire service, but he was in the woods the whole night. Bread was put on soon after the waiter arrived, it took a while. Everyone ordered waters, that took a while. I had a free app and got the fried pickles. It took way too long, but they were slammed. No complaints, they were good. Entrees ordered and needed water refills which took a long time. An expediter brought out the entrees. They forgot my loaded sweet potato. Took a while, flagged waiter who apologized. Everyone enjoyed their food. The potato took almost 10 minutes, but was so yum with burnt marshmallows. Time to close out, complimentary app on bill. Waiter apologized and said it took manager approval. He was pretty quick to resolve 15 minutes before close. We had been there over 1.5 hours. It seemed like plenty of staff, we saw them standing by our station. This was the most disappointing Roadhouse visit I've ever had and I frequent them. The food was on par, the service failed. 2.5, rounding down with multiple issues. I will give the chain a break for a while. read more

Came with a large party early on a sunday and it still crazy busy and took 45min to get seated. We had to tell them multiple times we needed accommodation for 2 kids and they still sat us in the bar area and the high chair we got was useless. The food was ok as expected. We ended up having to get it to go because the wait too so long. Splitting the bill with my family took multiple attempts too and delayed us another 15min. My sirloin steak was cooked medium on 1 side and well on the other side. Would have preferred a more even cook and the med rare I requested. Rolls were amazing as usual. Make sure to check in with them closer to your end of wait time so you are definitely in the cue. The wait was kind of a struggle, but the rest of the dinner was a good experience. called this location at 12pm on Sunday 6/14/26 to do waitlist seating for 4pm. have never had an issue with this method before, but was informed they could only do it 1hr ahead, ok so called back at three to waitlist for a party of 15, was told party was too many, WHAT! I went on and waitlisted 7, then my granddaughter called immediately to waitlist 8 and was told because they had waitlist for 7 at 4pm she would have to call at 4 to waitlist for 5pm. mind you they had no idea we were the same family or did they, It is now 3:30, She called Roadhouse in St. Charles Mo. for 15 people and they said, sure how about 4:30 which was what we did, and had the service was magnificent. Obviously some restuarants make their own rules as they go along. needless to say the St Charles Roadhouse location will be our go to from now on! OK, so let me start by saying that I am not at all a fan of franchise restaurants. I travel quite a bit for work and get stuck eating at mediocre franchise restaurants quite a bit. One of my subcontractors gave me a gift card and after about three years, my girlfriend and I finally came in. The fillet and ribs we had were outstanding, the atmosphere in the bar was very relaxing, and the level of service was five star, especially our bartender Brendan. As someone who is an avid local supporter, I do love Texas Roadhouse. Their steaks are affordable, the food is good, and the service has always been good when I have visited. The place was packed, this was right after the holidays so lots of families were in town. We waited about 30 minutes for a table and were texted when our table was ready. We started with the rolls and butter which are always a solid 10/10. I got the 8oz sirloin with a baked potato and Caesar salad. The salad was fresh and not a ton of dressing which is preferred, and the potato was cooked well. I only get sour cream on mine and it's always delicious with the sea salt. The steak was perfect, cooked medium. My mom got the NY strip and ended up getting a more of a fatty cut. That was our only issue. Don't sleep on TRH :) read more

First time and didn't know what to expect, I was just super excited to try it out with my co worker who absolutely LOVES texas roadhouse and audible GASPED when she found out I had never been. I told our waitress Margarita it was my first time and she thought I meant to st. louis and when I tell you she hooked it up? SHE HOOKED IT UP. ALL THE STOPS. I was so full from the bread. I knew I made a divine terrible mistake, but so worth it. There were about 3-4 birthdays so the place was full of energy and life. I got the whole experience to say the least. But it didn't end there! The manager came by and said she heard it was my first time and gave me some coupons and peanuts for next time??? And THEN Margarita came out with some bread for me and to my surprise it had to have been more than 10 rolls!!!!!???? I'd never been here despite traveling to and from STL for over 10 years! Usually if I want a cheap but decent steak and I'm in the area, I go down the street to Lone Star Steakhouse. I came here for an early Friday dinner. The place was bustling but I was seated quickly with a basket of warm rolls with cinnamon butter. My waitress (with a trainee t-shirt on) was quick but a little obsequious. I knew what I wanted and ordered immediately. I got my Caesar salad quickly. It was very wet, the plate was sweating with condensation. It tasted better than it looked. My thick-cut sirloin with loaded baked potato came shortly after I finished my salad. There was a large knob of gristle (which my dog loved later with HIS dinner) attached to my steak. The steak was ok but VERY salty. The potato was also only okay--for a loaded baked potato it was pretty mediocre and flavorless. All in all, I think I'll go down the street for a steak instead of here. read more

Loved our first time at a Texas Roadhouse! For a chain restaurant, the steaks that we got were delicious and quite affordable especially due to the quality of the food! We got the ribeye and prime rib, and a kids meal for our 2 year old toddler. The prime rib and the ribeye were both one of the more tender and flavorful renditions I've had this year - for $25 each that includes 2 sides, I'm coming back asap. The place was so festive American - coming here was perfect timing because I had just gotten back from an almost month long trip to Asia, so this place felt like a welcome back meal to us lol. Oh and we came to celebrate my toddler's 2 year old birthday. This is for sure going to be our new tradition going forward. Service was basic and a tad slow and they forgot to bring a side and a drink to us, but it was fixed quickly. the self checkout tablet at the table helped speed up the efficiency at the end. I got my family together for my mom's 77th birthday. There was 10 of us. I put our name on the waitlist at 11 in the morning reservation at five got there a little before five and let them know my whole party was there. We then waited another 10 minutes for a table. They walk us back to the table and they put us in two separate booths with our backs to each other. I have a party of 10 how are we supposed to talk and see each other with our backs to each other? I didn't say anything at the beginning, cause I wanted everybody to enjoy their dinner. I then went and found the manager in a red shirt. he was a young child and told him my issue and he told me that that's their policy. They don't put tables together. I went on to say last year you put the tables together for us. He said I don't know this is our policy now and that was it so I will never be back there again. Joined the wait list on line with a 30 to 40 minute wait arrived at 5:43pm and checked in and 15 minutes later were seated and greeted by our server who took our drink and appetizer order. Had two cocktails and potato skins and ordered dinner two sirloins one with shrimp accompanied with two salads which had boiled eggs on them ( nice touch) and corn and mashed potatoes for the other two sides. The hot rolls with honey cinnamon butter were delicious. The place is huge and packed with people, televisions , music and a bit loud. Very affordable for a casual dinner. Ordered the bone-in Ribeye. The outer 1"-11/2" was nothing but Gristle and the only part of the steak was the part next to the bone. The gristle was piled up and the size of a tennis ball. The manager said, there is nothing we can do, you ate the steak. No, I didn't, it is piled up here that isn't edible!! This place has the most rude manager. We called to put our party on the waitlist for 8 adults and a high chair. We were told come in at 5, that is when we can accommodate you. We got here and none of the seating worked. When speaking with the Manager, all she would say is "the baby counts" Yes that is why we said 8 and a high chair. We made a reservation for 8 people this past Saturday at the Kirkwood location, and although the entire party was there, we waited over an hour to get seated. The restaurant seemed very disorganized. We watched four or five young people who work there just hanging out at the hostess stand, doing nothing but laughing and having a grand ole time. When we were finally seated, we all ordered our meals, but the entrees came out first; we had to let our server know that we did not get our salads. Of course, they brought them out when almost all were finished with their entrees, and we did get a small credit on the bill, but the overall experience was less than what we have come to expect from Texas Roadhouse. We have always had a great experience at Texas Roadhouse (never a bad meal), but the Kirkwood location really needs some management attention. Affordable food that tastes just fine. Theme is also on point and the other merchandise they have is snazzy. I bought some peanuts and they were good, perfectly salted. Entrees and appetizers I found to be only but decent tasting, but my family did enjoy the food. Staff is hyped up and they checked in on us often, our server was mighty patient. Restrooms may need a bit of updating though, same thing goes for the seats. A decent place with decent food, but the staff is awesome here. read more

This place is very popular and I'm going to tell you why. 2. Eat the endless rolls and order a steak. Don't count calories. The broccoli is steamed and seasoned like they used butter. Yum. 3. It's a very casual restaurant with decent prices & decently seasoned food. It's not a fine dining establishment, so manage your expectations accordingly. I'll leave it at that.
