Our waitress was super kind and gave us a walk through and guided us through the experience since it was our first time. I really enjoy the buffet/all you can eat style since you're in total control of how much or how little you choose, especially when trying something new. First time, came on a Sunday at noon when they opened. We told the hostess first time and she made sure the waitress knew it was our first time so we got a very quick friendly rundown. We got the hot pot and the bbq. Definitely take sometime to explore. We missed a few things til almost the end. Example we forget we could get special deli meat for the hot pot - which was ok as we loved the veggie selection so we didn't miss out too much!! Great place for mushroom lovers. Very fun dining experience! We decided on the bbq and hot pot which were both phenomenal. There is something so fun about making your own soup right in front of you! If you have never been to K-Pot, you need to stop what you're doing right now and get there. Hands down, this is one of my top 5 restaurants in Syracuse, NY. I love the atmosphere, the energy, and the overall experience. This is a Korean BBQ-style restaurant where you cook your own food right at the table. While they do have a small section with already-prepared items like rice, French fries, and a salad bar, the main attraction is definitely the grill. What really stands out to me is how kid-friendly this place is. If you have younger children who may not want the grilled items, they offer chicken nuggets, fries, rice, and other familiar foods, which makes this a great option for families. (Already cooked) This is the perfect spot for birthday dinners, family nights out, girls' night, guys' night, or even just lunch on a random Tuesday. I love the interactive aspect of cooking your own food--it makes dining here fun and memorable. They also have a flavor chart on the wall that shows you exactly what sauces and ingredients to mix together to get different flavor profiles, like hot and spicy, savory, or sweet. I love that little detail. They offer ramen as well, which I haven't tried yet because ramen fills me up quickly and I want to get my money's worth from the grill. We chose both the broths and the grill for our dinner meals. Mine was the herbaceous, my husband chose the spicy one and our daughter chose the mushroom. We tried each other's broths and I clearly won. Service was all you can eat but the dirty dishes did pile up as our server was MIA vs. other servers. The place was clean and the offerings were abundant, allowing for choices of seafood and meats. We all liked the rib eye on the grill and also the ribs. Personal preference for my husband was the beef tongue. You can do Grill or Broth or both, but the entire table has to get the same option. We chose our proteins and sauces and weren't quite sure if we were supposed to get the veggies or not. Turns out we were able to get vegetables along with the protein. Everyone is served white rice on the table. We had a lot of fun trying pork, beef, chicken, shrimp and a mild white fish. The meats were marinated and very tasty. There were a few items for dessert that you might see on a Chinese buffet...but I passed on those. There was also some fresh fruit which was nice after the meal. Yesterday went for lunch with friends. I didn't know what to expect but our server was very nice and explained everything. We chose to do just the Korean bbq. Everything looked very fresh and had a good variety. My favorite was the marinated beef (spicy but not overly hot). I also tried the shrimp, pork and chicken. We were given a bowl of white rice to go along with the entrees. I wish I had gotten some vegetables to grill with the meat but I didn't. I definitely will next time. By the end of our lunch the grill was very messy so I think we should have seasoned it more with oil so things would not stick. That would be a good tip to have the server give customers especially when it's their first time. They had some fresh fruit and cream puffs for desert. They ran out of ice cream cups. I was excited to try KPot with some friends who haven't done Korean BBQ dining before. I have to say our experience was...poor. This was a 2.5/5 star experience, but I'm rounding up to 3 because we had an entire meal comped (charged for 3 dinners instead of 4) which was a generous and appreciated gesture, especially because we did not request it. The Good: The buffet was clean, organized, clearly labeled, and had a wide variety, offering different cuts and kinds of meat, some plain and some with added marinades. We only did BBQ but they had a great variety for hotpot add-ins as well. There were many sauces and toppings available, plus fries and chicken nuggets for anyone not feeling adventurous! I do wish that staff actually gave instructions or showed you how to cook at your table instead of just having signage. I felt that some of the cooking instructions were contradictory or unclear, but the food was delicious. We especially liked the garlic shrimp, Kpot pork belly, and Kpot sauce. The restaurant itself was spacious and well lit. They also have a full bar with some fun drinks, including the Electrik drink series of spiked Red Bull concoctions and bubble teas. It's very reasonably priced per person for an all you can eat meal. The Bad... Firstly, pretty much all of the front of house staff were on their phones. I saw guests come up to check in while the hostess was sitting at an dining booth texting, and she had to be alerted by another staff member (who was also using their phone) to get up and greet them. This is poor customer service. I work in food service myself and phone use like this is always a bad look. We were told that there would be a 20 minute wait even tho there were many empty tables in view, which I assume was due to staffing. We agreed to wait but then were seated within 5 minutes. Turns out, the hostess seated us at a table where they had already seated another customer. This resulted in an awkward situation for everyone, and we were sitting at the table for quite a while before any servers or staff members came over to greet us or explain what happened and why our table was not being served. This incident was in no way the server's fault, but she was clearly frustrated and spread thin. She was very kind and friendly at every interaction but unfortunately, whether the restaurant was understaffed or just very disorganized, we went long stretches of time without seeing her or being checked on by other staff. At one point I had to go find someone to turn our table grill back on after it randomly turned itself off while we were still in the middle of our meal. Additionally, when the host first sat us and gave us plates, mine had a grain of rice stuck to it. I pointed it out and it was replaced, but later I saw the cup of water I was given had a grain of rice in it too. I get that rice can be pesky, I've had grains make it all the way through my dishwasher at home...but this is a restaurant. One dish is maybe understandable, but seeing it twice makes me wonder how well their dishes are actually being cleaned. Finally, I ordered a drink that really tasted awful. Not "I don't like this" more like "something is wrong with this". I let the server know that it didn't taste right and she told me she'd talk to the bar but "they have a strict no refund policy". I appreciated that she went to make it right and they did end up comping the drink as well after admitting it was made incorrectly by a new staff member. Overall, this restaurant has some major issues to work out when it comes to service and dining experience...or they had a really off night tonight. Having been to Kpot quite a few times, I was excited to introduce our friends to the concept of Korean BBQ. Im sorry to say that management completely fumbled the ball on our attempted visit on Friday 10/24. We had a party of 5 and asked the hostess for one of the 8 top tables with 2 grills due to one person in our party having a seafood allergy. We were told "no, its against policy". We asked to talk to the manager and again we were told "no, its against policy ". We would understand if the restaurant was packed out and folks were waiting to be seated, but the main dining room was half empty, and there was NO ONE sitting at any of the tables on the other side of the bar where the larger tables are. We specifically went early to avoid the crowds but the manager was obstinate and made sure we knew that "he was the manager since February and that's the way it is". His only offered solution was to have the grill changed out "more often".... so your telling me that the person with a severe allergy has to sit and wait, while 4 others cook their food and then wait some more to have the grill changed out? I guess the folks at Kpot need some re-education concerning cross contamination and allergies. The concept of Korean BBQ is catching on and there are more and more options opening up, I'm sure we can find somewhere else willing to accommodate food allergies. read more

We went over to KPOT over the weekend for BBQ for dinner, and came back during the weekday lunch for hotpot. Very delicious for both! I don't have much to say for service except for birthdays. It's a very popular place to go for birthdays, there were about 7 birthdays celebrated while we were there. They sing and bring a large glow up sign which is fun. Nothing specifically wrong with the service, it's just that once you're seating and know what you're doing, you get your own meat, cook your own food, and that's it. If you need someone to check up on you frequently, this is not going to be for you, but if you like uninterrupted meal out, it's perfect :) I especially appreciated and was amazed by the various proteins! All their marinated pork bellies were amazing, their Kalbi was a bit on the sweet side for me, but tasty, and the bulgogi was good too. I especially liked the thin frozen beef belly. Yum! Personally for me, I wouldn't want to pay the weekend/dinner price for the hotpot as I prefer the veggies in hotpot, and I get more "bang for the buck" with bbq because I can pack in more meat that way Don't be wasteful and grab only what you can actually consume. You will not be able to take any left over home. If you can make it out there for weekday lunch, I would do that since it's a little over half price. Instead of pictured menu on Google and Yelp, it is $20.99. I should have looked at the sign, but that was what I was charged. Went during opening week and I'm SO glad that Syracuse is getting this wonderful addition! The aesthetic in the restaurant is pleasing and there is a choice of picking korean bbq, hotpot, or with a small upcharge, both. We did not feel the need to indulge in both so we went with korean BBQ (though the hotpot broths looked great). Everything is self serve including meats, vegetables, and a sauce station (there is an extra station for hotpot with more options like dumplings, noodles, etc.) but I LOVED the self serve aspect. At a lot of AYCE places, the meats are ordered per table and a definitive serving is brought out (which may be too much or too little to your preference) but here, you can get exactly how much or how little you would like of each item. And I am not used to being able to grill this variety of veggies too! Before the days of COVID/at some restaurants, a server will cook the meats for you, but here, you do everything yourself. They will change the grill out for you which is very nice. What an amazing restaurant. Passing by, we stopped by Syracuse for lunch and were greeted by a friendly Arianna. There were only a few tables occupied inside so we were quickly seated. Jill came by, explained us how everything worked and even took time to walk us around the raw bars. Opted in for both Korean BBQ and Hot Pot, I picked a little bit of everything to try first. Everything was fresh and absolutely delicious. The highlights for me are the spicy marinated squid and bulgogi marinated meats. The sliced ribeye was also spectacular. I was excited to hear that Syracuse was getting a hot pot/Korean BBQ spot. While I can't confirm one didn't exist before, this one was hard to miss, opening in the former Tilted Kilt and facing out to 690. For a recent guys night, I suggested we check it out, especially as it was a Tuesday night and not likely to be as busy as a weekend. Its location off of Erie Blvd. is terrible and easy to miss. It's behind Chuck E Cheese adjacent to a Hampton Inn, but if you don't notice the sign, it's easy to drive past. Upon entering, you are greeted to a really well done interior. Bright lights, neon signs, a beautiful bar, and some great smells all welcome you into what is sure to be a fun evening. Our server was TOP NOTCH. Knowing we were noobies, she walked us through the whole process, explaining our meal options and then took the time to walk us through the entire buffet line so we got familiar with their offerings. When we had an unexpected person show up to our party, she moved us to a bigger table with no complaint. We opted for both the hot pot and bbq so we could get the full experience. For a $5 difference, it seems like a no brainer. Since there are quite a few options for diners here, I'll provide some quick hitter reviews of the items I tried: Miso Broth - excellent Grilled Steak - good Grilled Pork Belly - good Grilled Garlic Chicken - very good Sliced chicken for hot pot - good Buffet options for hot pot - excellent Sauces (especially my homemade peanut sauce) - very good The sauce area has recipes to make your own sauce mixes. I was pleasantly surprised by the hot pot . They had a good albeit not overwhelming variety of ingredients and sauces. Usually I only get the marinated short ribs (Here it is LA style galbi). Aside from the many parking spaces to choose from, the restaurant was disappointing to say the least. When you walk in, you're greeted with a modern and trendy atmosphere. However, the employees and their lack of professionalism dampened the awe of the newly renovated restaurant. If you're new to this type of cuisine, you'll most definitely feel lost and out of place because the workers are either lost themselves or oblivious to ensuring their guests feel comfortable and at ease with all the chaos that comes with the buffet style lunch. The food are all out and in the open for anyone to grab and there are random condiments that no one seems to know what to do with. I've been to many restaurants that are specialized in Korean barbecue and majority of them have employees who serve the meats and sides you want to your table. To me, this seems more hygienic and organized. However, this is not what you get when you eat at this location. It is the exact opposite. Although I was not impressed with this restaurant, I'm glad there's something new to the area. Reasonable and always fun to have hotpot. Services was clean and everyone was patient and kind. Just wish the kimchi was not as sweet as it was. But we enjoyed the meal with family very much. read more
