I stopped by with a large group (around 20 people) on Thursday night. We were taken straight to a private room so we had a lot of space with two waiters assigned to our table. The restaurant itself was such a large space with nice seating. Service throughout the meal was good but a bit slower. For appetizers, we had plates laid out for us to grab from. The eggplant items and spring roll I think were the best. We all got a large plate of salad which felt very generic with no Thai flavors. For my main, I chose the chicken in red curry. The curry was good, a bit mild though. The chicken itself was a little bit dryer than I was hoping for but flavor was good. I do also wish they had more veggies in the dish as well but the ones that were in there were well cooked. It would have been nice if there was more eggplant and hopefully also some bamboo shoots as well. Finally, for dessert I had the warm chocolate cake. Lemongrass is a beautiful restaurant! I went on a cold Friday evening, but the restaurant was well lit, warm, and had a pianist playing by the door. I was with a large party and the staff did a spectacular job splitting up the tables in sections so it was not all one server's responsibility. I tasted the House Spring Rolls after a friend had one left over. Now, I always love a spring roll, but I did not care for the filling or taste of theirs. Maybe just because it's supposed to be an elevated spring roll? Not sure. I ordered the salmon with the seasonal vegetable which was green beans. The salmon was seasoned well and cooked to perfection, for me! The green beans were undercooked but had a good flavor with garlic butter and seasoning. The mashed potatoes also left more to be desired. I wish they were lighter, whipped more, and not as bland as they were. The Moscow mule that I ordered tasted like a classic mule so that was great. Overall, I felt pretty neutral about my experience. I thought the venue was beautiful (and larger than expected as the restaurant continues to go back with a separate party area), but I did feel like it was a bit overpriced. I have always wanted to try this place and got the opportunity to last Monday for a work dinner. Bonus it was also downtown dining week. I couldn't snap any pictures since I was with colleagues but everything was as beautiful as it was tasty. I started with the shrimp dumplings which were my favorite. Then we got a house salad with vinaigrette which was very tasty. For my main course I got the beef tenderloin which was cooked to perfection. For desert I got the chocolate cake which was a little underwhelming but my boss and coworker also got deserts and they were both so beautiful. One looked like a chocolate shoe and the other one was a raspberry desert with a beautiful white chocolate decoration. Lemongrass is a Unique Plant with a Fragrant Citrusy Aroma, this Restaurant brings some of the Best Thai Flavors that I've ever tasted in my Life. My buddy Colin told me that this was arguably his favorite Restaurant in the Syracuse Area. After witnessing the Syracuse Orange come back and beat the Virginia Tech Hokies in Overtime, we made our way to Downtown Syracuse. Me, Colin and Sam had to wait for Colin's brother Jack to join us from Work to partake in this Meal. We walked into this Extravagant Atmosphere, Photos of fish hanging on the Wall as soon as you walk in to one of the most Elegant Dining Settings that you will ever set foot into. Once we sat down we all ordered Drinks like Sam getting an Espresso Martini, Colin getting a Cocktail called Under the Fig Tree. Gin, Ruby Port, Sambuca, Fig, Honey and Lemon. My Drink was a unique one called the Rahi Roha, a bright orange drink that had Thai Tea infused Rum, Hazelnut Cinnamon Orgeat, Orange Liqueur and Lime, also a piece of Toasted Star Anise floating on Top. I took my first sip and it was Creamy and Smooth, it was like drinking an Asian Orange Creamsicle, it was so good I ordered a 2nd one halfway through Dinner. For our Appetizers we split Dumplings that were packed with Shrimp over a smooth Black Bean Puree with Crispy Garlic and Sesame for Crunch and sauces of Balsamic and Dark Soy for balanced flavors of Spicy, Tart and Salty. Colin wolfed down half a dozen Oysters topped with Lemon and Sriracha Hot Sauce. Also sharing some Spring Rolls filled with Shrimp, Pork, Mushrooms and Bean Sprouts with a Sweet Carrot and Chili dipping Sauce. I recall taking a bite and the crunch was pretty Loud, that's how Crispy they were. It was time for our Entree's; Colin's brother Jack got a Butter Chicken Curry that was loaded with Spice. Colin himself got the Seafood Combo, Tender Lobster and Scallops that had a bright red sauce of Tamarind Chili that made a flavorful punch of both Sweet and Tart. Me and Sam both had the same dish in mind, Khao Soi (no Beef included). Instead, it had a lot of other good stuff like Lobster, Scallops, Chicken, Eggs Noodles and Bok Choy. Every time I took a fork full, I could feel that intense kick of spice as it hit my Lips and clashed with my Tongue with every bite I took. My mouth was burning, I was sweating while enduring the Heat, but all in all it was really Good Food. To finish off the Meal, I basically had a Cinderella moment as I had a Dessert called The Lost Slipper. A Chocolate Cone as the Heel filled with a Hazelnut/Chocolate Mousse, Triple Layered Chocolate Mousse on the Toe with a Chocolate shaped Butterfly perched on Top. A Nutella glazed Rice Krispy on the bottom holding it all in place. On the side of the Plate was a Sorbet of Prickly Pear on top of a Chocolate Chip Cookie. The Sorbet counteracted with all the richness that was going on with the rest of the Dessert. I ate it well before Midnight and while it didn't fit on my foot it fit well into my Stomach. This is by far some of the Best Thai Food that I've ever eaten, one of the Best in the Syracuse area. Lemongrass can use its Fragrant scent to lure newcomers and out of town People into their Restaurant. Their Thai flavors and Flair are to die for. !!! read more

This was my second time here, and I came for Downtown Dining Week. Personally, I think it's one of the best spots downtown; however, it's on the pricey side. I ordered the lobster dip as my appetizer, the salad with peanut dressing, and the gra pow with shrimp. I asked for my main dish with a few more long peppers. In my opinion, it could have been a bit spicier. Butttttt...I learned last year when I ordered my green curry extra spicy that they do not play!!! There was an unbelievable amount of long hots and then chili peppers on top. I think I drank probably 2 gallons of water (see picture for evidence--I rarely say anything is too spicy). My friend and I shared the raspberry tart for dessert. It's not included, but the desserts here are truly spectacular. Service is always top notch and the vibe is upscale, yet casual. read more

I found myself at Lemon Grass during my weekend in Syracuse visiting some of my college friends. I haven't been to Syracuse since 2017, and am not familiar with the food scene in the city. That being said, I let my friends have free reign as to where to go to eat - and they suggested here since it's a favorite spot of theirs. Lemon Grass is located in downtown Syracuse, among a number of other businesses in the area. The restaurant was pretty busy when we arrived, and from what I gathered from initial impressions this space attracted both bar patrons and diners. The restaurant is large - there's a spacious front room what contains the bar and some tables and it then gives way to another room in the back with more tables (this is where we were seated). The back room had a partition set up to accommodate a private party - but even with this it was ultra roomy (I think one of my friends said the restaurant inconspicuously takes up the length of the block it's on). The decor was somewhat modern with Earth tones, colored accents on the wall, and mellow live music playing. Even with this, the space wasn't warm - I think it had to do with the sheer size of the space, it just didn't land well for me. The menu mainly contained Thai dishes, though there was also a small selection of American fare as well. There were a *lot* of specials, but our server did an amazing job remembering them and had no problem repeating items or answering any questions we had. The majority of the dishes were flavor combinations that you paired with a protein of your choice with an emphasis on different curries. We started with a drink - they have a full bar selection as well as some seasonal cocktails. I had a ginger-based cocktail which had good flavor. Before mains, we decided to start with some apps: spring rolls and shrimp dumplings. Both were good - lots of flavor and paired with tasty sauces. For my main I decided to get the Gra Pow which was a chili and garlic based dish which I decided to pair with shrimp. The dish was really tasty - it was slightly spicy, loaded with flavor, and the shrimp were large. Service was great, food came out at a good pace and our server was really friendly. Overall, I enjoyed my experience at Lemon Grass - the food was good as well as the service. I would definitely be open to returning if I was ever in the area again. read more

The staff was friendly and professional. Waitstaff (not our waiter) came across the restaurant to remove no longer needed dishes. The bus-man had a keen eye and continuously returned to full our water glasses. The waiter gave us time to read the menu and have conversation and then come back with info on the specials. The food was well prepared and tasty, although the paneer cubes were entirely too large. I ate the specials red very with fish lobster and scallop topped with fried egg noodles. The chocolate can can for dessert was creative and tasty too. The cocktails had creative names and flavor combinations. The ambiance is nice. It was a large restaurant without feeling overwhelming. So glad that we made reservations for New Year's Eve at Lemon Grass. We arrived a few minutes early and only waited about four minutes before our table was ready. I haven't been here since they moved and wow, it is beautiful! I can't believe how large the restaurant is. We had a wonderful table in the back and we could actually hear each other Talk . We had Outstanding service by Rachel our wait staff. The food was 10 out of 10. My granddaughter who has not eaten Thai food before was very happy with her braised short ribs with a side of mashed potatoes. She also thoroughly enjoyed her strawberry sundae for dessert which had pieces of peanut brittle in it. I ordered red and yellow curry with chicken and seafood, and it arrived with lobster tails . The curry was simply delicious with just enough spice, and the dish was served with rice noodles on the bottom and fried rice noodles on the top. My husband had a tofu dish with curry that had enough heat for him, and he loved it One of the highlights of the dinner was my slipper dessert, which looks like a high heeled shoe made of some kind of chocolate a cookie with the foot plate sitting on a rice crispy treat served with cookies and a little pot of creamy deliciousness. When you get to the heel, it is filled with mousse. A beautiful and delicious dessert. And I found a parking spot not far from the restaurant making it a perfect night. First off, the wait staff here was excellent. Now for the food ... 1. Fail: Can't get a steak cooked the way you want. At these prices I should be able to get the steak cooked to my preference, not the chef's. 2. Fail: Overcooked the sword steak. Again, the food should be cooked to the customer's preference not the chef. The sword steak was so over cooked it was flavorless ( yes you cooked all the flavor out ). Our waitress was friendly and helped with ordering choices but I really commend the team effort from the whole staff; they all helped each other. We ordered the calamari and oysters for apps the calamari was crispy yet light (10/10). I hate oysters but my boyfriend said they were also 10/10 but wished they served both the vinegar sauce and hot sauce instead of only hot sauce. We both got the filet with massaman which was packed with spices and flavor *not spicy but clearly had a mix of different spices in it*. The entrees were $40 each but the serving you get is huge and they include a lot of meat in it so I'd say it was worth it. For dessert we got the infamous chocolate can-can (10/10) and the warm chocolate cake (8/10). The cake oozed lava which I loved but the actual cake itself didn't have much flavor for me. The burnt sugar ice cream stole the show for that dish. Overall I would highly recommend eating here, it is one of Syracuse's finest. read more

After years of wanting to go, I finally made it to the LemonGrass for Dining Weeks to see if it was worth the hype - absolutely! Didn't realize how big it was inside, with fun art and decor on the walls. We started with 2 fun drinks, which did taste as good as they looked! Our apps were lobster dip and spring rolls, the dip was kind of lackluster but the rolls were good. Then, we ordered Bangkok Beef and Red Curry to split. The curry had great flavor, especially adding the coconut milk on top. The beef was great too, an added $10 to the $40 3-course meal. We ended wirh one of their famous desserts, the cancan, and a warm apple bread, although a bit pricey, worth it for a date night and of course, have to feed your phone and social medias! We had an amazing anniversary here last night. The ambiance was perfect and I love the new spot they moved into. It's so much more spacious than expected. Service was great. Food was extraordinary. We started with the steaky bacon. The fried sweet buns were the star of this dish. I could've eaten them without anything else. I got filet mignon with prig pow and my partner got the lamb rack. Both were cooked flawlessly. Finished off with homemade sorbet and the apple bread pudding. The sorbet was so light and refreshing. Apple bread pudding was rich but not too heavy. Truly unique dining experience in Syracuse. Walkable from my hotel. Well designed them without being over the top. Sat at the beautiful bar. Brian greeted me right away for my drink and then listed all their specials. Had three of the Black Manhattans. Elevated Manhattan that used Montenegro herbal liqueur. I'm a fan of that. Started with the oysters. Six shucked and super clean tasting oysters. Came with lemon and their hot sauce with onion crisps. Thought it was very well presented. This is more than a Thai place. Its food elevated with Thai characteristics. I was torn between the prime strip and the roasted duck. Brians showed me pics of the prime strip and it looked amazing. But the duck was an award winner so went with that. Award winner it was. This might be the best dish I have ate in the entire state of New York and I have ate a lot, especially 2024. Everything comes out fast too. They sous vide it all day which is a good thing. The duck meat was so tender. Portioned and cut for breast pieces and two drummers. Skin was crisp. Meat was so tender. Chili tamarind sauce for the bak Choi and the fluffy rice. All around well done start to finish. Brian really takes care of his patrons, greeting them by name and knowing their drink preferences. If you live here, why aren't you frequenting this place? If you're here for work or leisure, come have a dinner. It was nice a well lit too. A big over head continuos window kept it bright in June. Much better experience this time around! We started with the shrimp dumplings (totally different this time and way tastier,) and moved on to soup and salad. The corn chowder with lobster was really good! I would have liked it to be a bit hotter, but the flavor was spot on- delish! I got the roasted orange duck and my partner got the Prig Pow with filet. My duck was delicious! It was a bit sweeter than I had expected, but still very, very good! I would have loved a temp preference for the breast, as I like duck cooked medium. My partner really enjoyed his dish, he said it was perfect! I got the Black Manhattan which I enjoyed enough to order two! The second one came and tasted a little different and had an orange twist and a bit of a bitter flavor added, so not sure what that was about, but it was still enjoyable. We had a wonderful dinner at Lemongrass Grill. We hadn't been there in 20 years and so, this was our first time in their new, expanded, space. We had a wonderful dinner! The wine list was as extensive and delicious as ever. Our wine selection was not available so we were upgraded to a more expensive bottle for the same price. All of our dishes were delicious! From the red curry, the stir fry dishes and our friend had the duck, which she said was out of this world. The service was top notch as always. It was wonderful to see one of our favorite restaurants was as terrific as ever! I would have given 5 stars but the selection of vegan dishes was slightly limited this time around. On a cold night we were downtown and were about to head home. We were hungry and walked by Lemon Grass. We decided to do an online pick up order and my sister in law ordered a few different options such as the scallion pancake, dumplings and another seafood dish. When we went into the restaurant to pick up our meal the staff were kind and the atmosphere was more on the higher end side. It was like an oasis. The food was excellent and the scallion pancakes were my favorite. We look forward to trying more! read more

I had the opportunity to have a wonderful dinner last night. The artwork throughout the restaurant and bar is beautiful and a delight to experience. Our server Aaron was absolutely delightful. He had full command of the menu offering the best of what you have to offer. He was attentive and has a hospitable spirit. The Bangkok beef had incredible flavor though was very tough. Not was I was expecting. The special Kao Soy was fantastic with the combination of lobster, chicken and a scallop. The shrimp dumplings were great with the toppings of sautéed garlic. The steaky bacon was wonderfully flavored with the sweet buns as an accompaniment. Why I rated this Lemon Grass low was the management. My guest and I whitenesses a few interactions with the staff of him swearing and being overly critical. The fact that I could hear and see this was truly awful. He has white hair glasses and walked through the restaurant with hands in pockets. Unfortunately unprofessional and a poor representation of a restaurant of this caliber. Shame on you. Our reservation was at 5:00 I would hope you would interview the staff in a focus group to gather their thoughts, it my be enlightening. read more
