Woodam is seriously the best. We order takeout pretty often, but it's such a treat when we get to dine in and enjoy the Korean BBQ experience. This is tough to do with young kids, but it's the perfect date night activity when we have a sitter. The Korean BBQ spread is massive. I can't even explain how many sides it comes with. Everything from soups to pickled veggies to tofu. But of course, the real star of the show is the meat which is so tender and perfectly flavored. They throw veggies on the grill like pineapples and onions and this is the perfect accompaniment. Plus of course lots of sauces to dip. Bring your favorite bottle to drink and a huge appetite. The only thing was they have a very bright neon sign which was large and close to our table and felt too bright despite switching to different seats. Unfortunately, no other table was available. When I say excellent... I mean excellent! Wow. Went there on a date and oh my goodness, that is our spot. So we decided to get some Korean dishes and skip the BBQ. We want the real stuff! One thing I will mention about the BBQ, which I think is nice, is they walk around to the tables and cook the meats for you. I am not sure if that is a normal thing but I like that because I always do the cooking for everyone at the table and it takes away from my eating time. Ok on to the food... We got these yummy pork bao buns. Oh my gawsh, sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good! Juicy with every bite. Savory and sweet. I wanted more haha. We also got the Yook Hoe, amazing amazing AMAZING! The presentation was so lovely. Our server showed us the cute little quail egg. and cracked it open and started mixing everything. It's also served with pear wich gives it an even more refreshing taste. NEXT we got the Kalbijjim. The flavors in this dish were mouth watering. My friends and I had an entirely delicious meal at Woodam. We selected the bulgogi beef, which is drenched in a delicious marinade, and the chicken, which is served with fried garlic and grilled onion. We ordered the spicy variants of both proteins, but any spice was definitely mild. We polished off the banchan and 3 dishes of the miso paste between the three of us. We also asked for the squid appetizer - it's a crisp, light breading and has a noticeable spice profile, unlike our proteins. Since one of our proteins was chicken, the server cooked it for us. But they also then cooked the bulgogi without asking us if we wanted to ourselves. My party was exhausted after an atypically long work week - maybe we were giving off vibes - but they should've asked. As a party of 3, the server pushed us to order 3 proteins. I'm glad we went with just 2. The plentiful side plates help fill you up, and we ordered the app too. It was also someone's birthday, so the servers played loud music in the dining room, which disrupted our meal. Be prepared to spend roughly $50 a person if you go for the on-table BBQ experience. I was in the area for work and met up with my brother for lunch. I had never been here before and we were looking for soemthing that we don't get to go to together very often, so we opted for Korean BBQ. We started with the Mandu which is pan fird beef shor rib dumplings, which were free because of yelp! yey! Galbi and Prime rib were grilled carefully by our waitress and were cooked just right to a medium. Kimchi Jjigae was a tad salty and lacked some depth, otherwise the other stew sides were solid! I have to disagree with a few of the other reviews I saw before visiting -- I appreciated the extremely attentive service whether that was for tea, Banchan, or offers to pour out each of our stews. Today is Father's Day 2025. This restaurant completely ruined the day for myself and my family. We have two small kids, age 3 and 6. Timeline: - 6:40 I arrived for my reservation. We were told they are busy and we would need to wait. This is understandable. - 7:20 After asking multiple times, they finally seated us. - 7:40 After no service, no water, no one to take our order, we left. Wonderful find! Was so happy to discover a legit Korean BBQ spot that doesn't require one to schlep all the way to Fort Lee, NYC or Edison. Looks like they opened up over the last few years but we hadn't realized until now. Woodam is located on the main street of a small town where there's also ample parking around. Importantly, the quality of the food is excellent. We had the BBQ set which was well prepped and cooked for us at the table, and the new-ish special squid bibimbap which was a big hit... fresh ingredients, balanced marinate (including anchovy seasoning to bring out the complex flavors) and reasonable portion. Service was friendly and efficient. Very happy with our meal and will be sure to return whenever we're craving for good Korean locally. read more

Me and my 3 co-workers came here on a weekday for lunch. They open at 11:30AM which was perfect for us - and we were the only ones to be there for a while until lunch "rush hour" started. We ordered several dishes from their lunch menu special, and everything was super delicious. The experience was somewhat soured by the fact that our server seemed a bit confused and didn't bring the right dish, even though I was the first to place an order in our group. However, another staff was super kind and helpful, therefore able to remediate the overall lunch experience. While I wanted to try Dol Sot Bi Bim Bap, I was brought regular Bi Bim Bap - it was tasty regardless, just not in a sizzling stone bowl like I was eager to try (that's the main difference between the two dishes). My colleagues had Bok Kum Bap (fried rice), Kimchi Chige (Kimchi soup) and Gook Su Bokum (noodles with veggies & choice of protein); we also ordered Ssam Buns for the table to share (and that was my favorite!). Whilst this place is on a seemingly busy street, there's ample parking in the back of the building. Entrance is still only through the front of the street. Since we really enjoyed the food - and the pricing appeared reasonable, at least for the lunch specials - we do consider coming back here to try something next next time. read more

That said service was good and the owner was constantly present , my only disappointment was my dish came out significantly earlier then both of my friends . The mandu came with 6 dumpling , all were nicely crisped and flavorful. The Pa Jun was excellent - think of a deep dish Chinese scallion pancake.. excellent! Last night our neighborhood group went out to Woodam for a group dinner and we couldn't have been happier with the food and service. The place is beautiful and there's plenty of seating. Because of the way Korean BBQ works they don't have big round tables, but tables of four/eight so every four people gets their own grill. That was the only down side to last night as the 15 of us couldn't chat the way we normally do. Our section of four ordered the dumplings, Korean calamari, and Korean chicken wings to start. All I can say is BRAVO. The appetizers were all excellent-amazing flavor with just a hint of spiciness. For our entrees we shared the Spicy Bulgogi, Spicy pork and boneless short ribs that we cooked ourselves (well, I cooked for everyone). The thin sliced pork and beef (bulgogi) cooks in a little more than a minute and the thicker chunks of short rib takes about twice the time, but it's really nice to just take your time and chat while you're cooking and eating. The marinades on the meat were really delicious and they can modify the spiciness from mild to Wow. Wifey had been to other Korean BBQ places previously, but it was my first time...and it will NOT be my last. Can't wait to go back and try some of the other options. Woodam is a Korean restaurant with some non-traditional aspects. Something funny we noticed is that they refer to "Kim bap" as a "sushi roll," but will list a very traditional name like "o jing aw ti kim" on the same page. While you can taste that the appetizers were not fully traditional, they still tasted good! The Korean fried chicken had great, crispy skin with a nice bite. Our "sushi roll" with soft shell crab also tasted pretty okay. I liked how the seafood pancake was quite fluffy, while pa jun is traditionally pretty thin. The main reasoning for the 3-star review is that the majority of my table ordered the soon doo boo but we were all underwhelmed. The broth did not have a deep, whole, and complete flavor. My Korean friend described it as, "someone read a soon doo boo recipe online and attempted to make this." Our banchan also did not come out until RIGHT before our entrees. I'm used to receiving them right after we order. This is not to say Woodam is a bad restaurant! They are relatively new and maybe are still working out some kinks. Some other tables ordered the kbbq and that looked good, so maybe I'll have to give them another try in the future. read more

After waiting so long for it to open, we were so excited to have a k-bbq spot locally. The place is very clean and loved the new style of the bbq grills. For the first time at a k bbq spot we didn't leave smelling like bbq! We had reservations. The quality of the food and meat was very good. Well seasoned and the servers give you the option to cook yourself or have them do it. The banchan was okay and very fresh but a bit lacking in variety. We started following Woodam on social media after their collaboration with Crazyhungryasians as everything looked so good. There is plenty of parking in the rear and the ambiance when entering is clean and inviting. They had these cute Santa Claus hat chair covers and festive music playing at a nice low level. We liked that each person gets their own set of side dishes. We usually don't eat all of the different types of sides at Korean restaurants but my wife ate everything including my kimchi and radish and the attentive wait staff brought us more. My wife had the regular lunch box with spicy pork bulgoki. Very generous portion of meat and beautiful presentation like the pictures we saw. I had the premium lunch box which comes with an extra entree and appetizer. Everything was excellent and the prices were very reasonable in this age of skyrocketing prices.
