My favorite place to order lobster from on UberEats. I'm a huge fan of the Lobster Salad Roll and the Lobster grilled cheese. I can't speak much about the ambiance or service as I have yet to come in person. But the food is chefs kiss!

Lobster Dip and *Lobster Bisque

First time trying Mason's on a Friday night- I ordered delivery. I'm a born and raised New Englander and had a craving for lobster bisque. So I ordered a bowl of bisque, add lobster chunks for $4 (total of $12) and the lobster dip ($12). They also let me add a buttered roll for no extra charge. First off, applause for packaging. The buttered roll was nicely wrapped. The pita chips for the dip were packaged in a nice box, and the soup and dip in good takeout containers and nothing leaked. First up- the bisque. Legit 10/10. Perfect color, consistency and taste. That creamy soup with a hit of ocean and sherry. I don't think I would add the lobster for $4 again. While I LOVED the lobster chunks there was about two, maybe 3. Not worth the $$. But the bisque would be and is amazing without it. Size was okay for $8. The roll was an AMAZING add on- soft and perfectly grilled and buttery and I dipped it in the broth and was so happy. That elevated it to 11/10. The dip was delish- tangy and creamy as well. And a good portion of dip and chips for the price. But there were no seafood chunks in it and honestly I didn't get a lobster taste- it could have been labeled a seafood dip and I wouldn't know the difference. But that aside- so good, so creamy like a thick seafood queso. I was really happy overall so Inwill absolutely be trying the lobster rolls and updating my review!

What a great little place to get something different other than the normal steak and BBQ here in Austin! The establishment was clean and the staff was very helpful. As is with buying lobster outside of the New England area, it is on the pricey side, but I knew it would be before arriving and was pleased with the quality of the food. We had Connecticut rolls and I got a side of lobster Mac & cheese. My wife got the lobster bisque. Everything was very good and flavorful. Great stop in Austin!

My experience was great. I loved my lobster roll. It was freshly made in the kitchen. Tastes delicious. Bread was soft. Service was friendly and fast. I will be back

Wednesday 7/24/2024 Been wanting to try this place out for nearly a year and now was my chance. The customer service was helpful and friendly. I got the Connecticut roll $20.50. Pros: - The lobster had good quality and taste. Cons: - The butter was lacking and it definitely needed more of it. - the bread was average and a bit burnt. Usually the bread is supposed to be soft & warm but they failed to meet that standard. Overall, for $20 the lobster roll did not have good execution. It took around 3-4 bites to eat and I'd give it a solid 7/10. I'd best describe it as the worst best lobster roll I've had when factoring in the price point.

Patio dining was a pleasure.

We walked in after a concert at Moody's ACL to a clean restaurant with polite service. We order two classic lobster rolls. It did take a while to make, but the results are excellent! These were crazy bold tastes with big lobster flavors, and the bread was perfectly toasted. These are not cheap or big, but completely worth it for the flavor!

Quick and easy ordering on a Thursday afternoon. Roll was loaded with lobster and tasted great. Ate it about 30 min later and the bread wasn't soggy. Would love to come back again to try their Connecticut roll!

1/15/2024 Mason's Famous Lobster Rolls 200 Congress Ave Austin, TX 78701 The store front is actually on 2nd Street off Congress. The place consists of an order and prep area with a long narrow seating area. It was MLK Day afternoon and the place was empty. I ordered a cold Classic Roll and waited less than 5 minutes. There was a generous amount of lobster chunks in a warm toasted roll. The lobster wasn't very sweet, maybe it would have been better warm with butter. A fast good value lobster roll. Maybe repeatable.

Mason's was an interesting experience. Whenever I walk by this place it's busy, so I had to check it out. Came around dinner time on a Saturday. Was not busy at all. Food is ordered at the counter. Super casual environment. Asked for recs/favorites and was given an unenthusiastic reply. Went with a Connecticut Lobster Roll and the Grilled Cheese. Their beverage selection is limited and nothing that pairs great with the food. Both were good. Not enough lobster for my taste, and quite pricy taking that and the service into account.

Lobster rolls here are quality but are a little small so don't expect to be full off of one roll. The lobster bisque and New England clam chowder looked really good and seemed more reasonable priced so I want to try that next time I'm here! Service was quick and the restaurant was cute but had very limited seating fyi.

Austin Rotisserie is hands down one of my favorite places in the world. I've been eating their food…read moresince they were a tiny little pop-up behind the Infinite Monkey Theorem winery, when it was literally just the two of them, a couple of pop-up tables and the rotisserie. It's been amazing so see how far they have come! The owners, Sophie and Eric are genuinely the kindest and most hard working people I've met. The care and attention to detail they put in does not go unnoticed and is unmatched. The entire menu is incredible and every single dish is worth trying. The Kinda French quesadilla is probably one of the best things I've ever eaten in my entire life and the guacamousse sauce is You can't go wrong with any of the sandwiches either (the Poulet Roti Baguette and the Parisian are my personal faves ) and of course the traditional Rotisserie chicken- don't skip on those potatoes either- they are SO good and really tie everything together. I unfortunately don't live in Austin anymore so I don't get to visit them nearly as often as I'd like to, but I always recommend them to locals and anyone visiting- seriously some of the best food you'll ever have, and always served with so much love and care

I think it's great that Fareground has a French fast-casual spot in Austin. I tried their chicken…read morebaguette sandwich and had mixed feelings. The bread had good flavor, but it was a bit hard to chew. The chicken itself was okay, though it leaned a little dry. I did see them add sauce to the sandwich, but I wish there had been two to three times more because the overall sandwich still felt pretty dry. Because of that, I wasn't too tempted to try their rotisserie chicken meal, but I do like the concept and think that with some changes it would be a solid spot.

We bought some burgers from the Mr. Sandwich food truck while on Rainey St. with some friends…read more The burgers were good and tasty. Not sure if all the burgers are always cooked well-done, but that's how ours were made (and was never asked if I wanted otherwise). Also ordered a side of fried plantains that came with a small cup of ketchup. They were harder than I was expecting, and not to salted. Next time I think I'd just order the fries. Waited at the window to order for several minutes while the guy took a phone call, then had a hard time hearing him take my order since he was still on his call and had his mask on (pandemic issues...and maybe this is where he asked how I wanted my burgers cooked?? Who knows, couldn't hear him!). Then it took awhile for the order to come out. By the time I got the food and back to our table, our friends had already purchased and eaten their food from other food trucks, so that was a bummer. Good option if you're in the food truck park. Just be prepared to spend time waiting to order and get your food. Tip: ask if you can have your burger cooked medium or medium rare. If you prefer it that way, of course.

The good: This is a food truck located on the busy party…read morestreet of Rainey. There is outdoor bench-style seating. They were one of the few food trucks in this area that was open during the daytime. The majority of the other options are open later at night when the bar scene is crowded. The bad: The brisket sandwich tasted mostly of just BBQ sauce and the brisket was cut up in small weird chunks. There was melted orange cheese on it that was also unappetizing. We didn't want the caramelized onions so we asked for raw onions but the cashier/cook didn't speak English so the most we could communicate was "no onions." Also, the payment machine was all in Spanish (for selecting tip, signature, etc) so you better brush up on your Spanish if you're paying by credit card! There were cigarette butts on the ground and on the tables and a homeless person hanging out at the benches as well. I ordered fries at first but they were sold out. The interesting: The sandwiches are open-faced.

Last week I was on a break from keto, and my husband read my mind. He took me here as the first stop on a rainy Friday night date. I know they have good sandwiches, but they also have their "bait shop" schtick. They're not near any significant fishing spots, and I didn't see any evidence of bait, but whatever. Their sandwiches are good, so they can get away with it. While I ate my sandwich on the patio, we discussed the novelty nature of many Austin businesses, and which ones can hold up and which ones are pure hype. I ordered the Club sandwich. It's not a true triple-decker club, but it was the sandwich that had the best variety of fillings in my opinion. Everything you'd expect in a classic club, but easier to eat because it wasn't stacked absurdly tall like other clubs. The sourdough bread was very crispy, and the meats, cheese, and vegetables worked well inside. On the side I got potato salad which I like more than their other option, which was chips, but the potato salad wasn't anything special. Their patio was the perfect spot to enjoy a rainstorm. They have some glider chairs off to the side that are good for lounging on, but when it really started to rain we moved in to the center of the patio. I'm glad I got a chance to try Handsome Dan's. I doubt I'll be back anytime soon because huge sandwiches like this need to be an occasional treat for me, but if you're in the Springdale area looking for a satisfying meal, this is it!

When I was out to dinner with two friends, they both highly recommended R&B's Steak and Fries…read more Apparently, they're best known for their Philly cheesesteak sandwiches. Having enjoyed plenty of authentic Philly cheesesteaks over the years...many of them in Philadelphia itself...I approached this food truck with a healthy dose of skepticism. As soon as I arrived, I met Armand, who told me that he and his brother started the food truck about seven years ago. He was warm, personable, and genuinely Texas-friendly, which immediately set a positive tone for the experience. Ordering a cheesesteak is a simple three-step process: 1) Pick your cheese. 2) Choose your toppings. 3) Be polite and place your order. (I loved that part!) I ordered the cheesesteak with American cheese and grilled onions, along with a side of fries. Let me tell you...this sandwich completely exceeded my expectations! For a moment, I felt like I was back in Philly. The bread was soft, fresh, and flavorful. The steak was unbelievably tender and packed with flavor...so good that I couldn't stop talking about it. The portion size was generous enough for two people, so I ended up sharing half with the hubs. Needless to say, R&B's Steak and Fries turned this cheesesteak skeptic into a believer.
