The outdoor tables are covered with blue umbrellas to protect you from the pesky sun. So I walk into Lima with a food blank slate. I was not super hungry, but I wanted something to quench my hunger. I ordered the Aguadito soup (chicken soup with rice and cilantro) and plantains along with a Alfajores cookie (made with dulce de leche). The soup came with chicken on the bone along with fluffy rice, peas and carrots. OMG...this soup was amazing!!! It tasted like something your grandmother would prepare. I am a picky when it comes to plantain (no green, hard plantain for me). The menu stated, "golden, caramelized sweet plantain, fried to perfection). Lima had me caramelized. My ideal plantain is sweet with a crispy edges. Lima's plantains are my new favorite! Don't tell anyone, but I ate them with my hands...like a little kid. The cookie was also baked to perfection...really enjoyed my cookie. When I walked in, I was immediately escorted to a table by a friendly hostess and server. She was quiet-spoken and super nice. This was an excellent dining experience...will definitely be back...sooner than later!

My husband ordered their tacu tacu limeno which was 19.95, came with garlic rice, few pieces of tomatoes, and beef in a watery stew. My pork was cooked well, and it was really juicy, and the sauce was flavorful and paired really well with the rice. My husband's beef was tender and cooked well too. His tasted similar to a filipino dish. Servers were nice and attentive. Prices are a bit steep for the amount of food they give you, but it could just be the area they're in. Next time we come, I would like to try their ceviche! Overall, it was a good restaurant. Parking can be a bit tough since parking spaces are tight and there's also a boiling crab in the same plaza; people can definitely park better too.

Majority of seating is out doors, plenty of shade, fans and misters there were also heaters sitting around when cool weather strikes. Our waitress was kind and knowledgeable about the offerings , she was sure to check in with us through our time here. The arroz mariscos was my favorite dish, topped with the spicy sauce they served separately, I did noticed there was 6 muscle shells but 3 of them were empty. we also had the following: causa limena - it was good I really liked the civiche on top, the chicken salad wasn't too amazing and the potato was intresting, the juice at the bottom was delish! arroz chaufa - this was a fried rice dish , it did have a little cinnamon in it so beware if you don't like cinnamon/ lomo à la hauncaina- I tried the noodles which were a great texture- they sauce it was served in was okay- wasn't crazy about it and I didn't try the meat but heard it was amazing! tacu tacu - pan fried potatoe pattie toooed w onions and cilantro, loved this dipped in the spicy sauce we had on the side! papa andinas -not a favorite, tastes plain with lots of flavorless seasoning dusted on them- they were okay once dipped in the sauces served on the side but the potatoes them self needed salt and maybe another seasoning to make them pop sarza criolla - just a mix a red onions, cilantro and seasonings- a few dishes were already topped with this mixture. 10/10 recommend checking them out !

Lent is a 40-day period of spiritual preparation for Easter, beginning on Ash Wednesday (symbolizing the need for repentance) and ending before Easter. Its main goals are reflection, repentance, and renewal. After observing Lent, our treat was brunch at Ciclo (Four Seasons Hotel). Ciclo hosted Easter Brunch and an Easter Egg hunt including the hotel's lake-level ballroom. The celebration included live music and lawn activities for hotel and brunch guests. The brunch included a cold buffet, hot buffet, carving station, benedict station, and dessert buffet. You also could order customized omelets from your table. Ciclo's brunch features gluten-free and vegetarian choices. OMG...the Four Season's Hotel and Ciclo restaurant looked as though a lush bright flowered garden had been quietly grown there. Flowers spilled over every surface from the hotel's entrance to the Ciclo restaurant out onto the patio. The floral arrangements were stunning. They also served as a beautiful backdrop for photos. In addition, we ran into ole friends at brunch, which was a pleasant surprise. The standout for us was the lamb chops (one of my favorites) and callosal-sized shrimp. The sweet potatoes and ham were memorable as well with perfectly spiced sweet potatoes. All desserts were good today, however, the Oreo cheesecake and sugar cookies were the highlights. Our server was so attentive and pleasant. Also, Abribal, the restaurant manager, came over to inquire about dining experience. Such excellent service... Dining a Ciclo today was superb! The Suya was a off the menu item and an award winning dish. The cabbage was so flavorful. The desserts were 100/10. The watermelon and papaya salad I can eat EVERYDAY!! The ceviche is so unique. So this fit the vibes and aesthetics for a nice sit down Caribbean meal for date night, celebration, or just because. However, two things: they had "valet" for a man to back our car into a spot which we could've done & then tip as you like. It felt very odd and unsure of how much to tip despite the quick "put it in reverse" idk if this is just a thing here in Austin. But he was pushing is QR code for Venmo the whole experience. 2nd, it was way too loud and dark to see or even have a convo. Loud music and all the conversations blurred each other out. Man I wanted to get out of there ! As for food, they did ask if we were okay with spicy but man all the food was spicy that it masked all the other flavors. Super cool to incorporate suya as we've been watching and hearing about it in food shows but I don't think it was used in a way to complement the food. It was just like bam I am suya ! My fave was the beef patties. The tapas are very small. Smaller than photo size prob so make sure to order enough or asks your server. The chicken was very hefty and was given bbq sauce to help mild the spice. Nice to have but it did not pair well with the Caribbean flavors. The price is decent compared to what we have but compared to Austin prices a bit higher. All and all looks cool, nice place to experience maybe once, but a pass for us next time.

It's challenging to replicate the same experience locally, as these restaurants lack access to the fresh, local ingredients that define their unique cuisine. Casa Colombia does a good job replicating a true Colombian dining experience. Their menu is extensive with some very interesting offerings. Scanning the dining room, I noticed that their portions are huge. We started with a shrimp cocktail, an empanada, and their version of a rum - mango martini. The small option for the shrimp cocktail was bountiful and easily shared. The housemade cocktail sauce was a perfect accompaniment. The empanada was a tad dry, but their spicy salsa sauce was a great addition. Our "martini" was sweet but very satisfying on a warm afternoon. We did want to try their ceviche, but they are using tilapia as their fish. Quality Seafood is not too far away, and I'm sure that they could offer a better-tasting white fish than plain ole tilapia. We split one of their house specials, the Bandeja Paisa Tipica. This is a traditional Colombian dish, and it is a meat lover's dream served on an oversized platter. Our platter arrived with a chorizo link, beef sirloin, rice, red beans with pork, a huge fried chicharrón, an arepa, a sweet plantain, a slice of avocado (well, there's the only healthy portion), and a fried egg on top. We struggled to eat about 70% of this feast. It's going to take a few visits to the gym to work off this lunch. Dis & Dat: Parking is a breeze as they have their own parking lot. They do offer a happy hour that begins at 3 PM. A definite 4-plus star experience.
