    Oxtail and Jerk Chicken Combo

I am no expert when it comes to Caribbean food, but I really enjoyed it. I brought my friend who loves Jamaican food here after we got a recommendation, and we both really liked it. It was my first time having ox tails, and they were tender and flavorful. The food came out pretty quick and they have a few picnic tables outside to eat at. It was pretty expensive however for what we got imo, as one plate of ox tails and jerk chicken with rice, collards and plantains was around $30. There was a lot of food and it was delicious though.

Tony's Jamaican Food is an absolute gem! We had a 5-star experience from start to finish. We shared a Jerk chicken, rice, beans, and veggie meal, and added the Jamaican sweet bread. The jerk chicken had great flavor, and everything was cooked to perfection. It was the first place we went to once we landed in Austin, TX on Valentine's Day 2025, and it did not disappoint. We highly recommend Tony's Jamaican Food for anyone looking for authentic and delicious Jamaican cuisine. Thanks, Ashley & Lindsey Head Visiting Austin, TX from San Diego, CA

You take certain foods for granted when you come from Miami and are not as easily found in other places and Jamaican food is one of those. I was craving some brown stew chicken and came across this place in my search so off I went. I went for Sunday lunch...it wasn't crowded. Place is big, plenty of seating and looked clean. Service was good & fast. Prices and amount of food also decent. The food was delicious. Rice looked to have a different type of bean from what I'm used to but what do I know...it was still delicious and super flavorful and I left none behind :) Will be coming back here for sure when I need a Caribbean fix.

Tony's is so good! Everything is seasoned well and good portions. The service was quick and friendly. Nice food truck, had an area for people to sit and enjoy the good food. My first time, but it will not be my last. We all had Oxtails, rice and peas, with cabbage and plantains. Delicious!!!

This local food truck serves really good jamaican food at a conveninent location. Street parking only, and there are a few tables nearby. Food was cooked right then and there, so there was a little bit of a wait. We went early in the morning when it opened so they did not have their Beef Patties yet, be warned! Food we got: - oxtail large plate: oxtail was super tender, but I felt like it was a little small (4/5) - jerk chicken large plate: I was shocked to find out that I enjoyed this dish way more! The chicken was super tender and juicy! The flavor profile was perfect, came back for seconds (5/5) Personally, I felt like the portion was a little small for the price. The cabbage was delicious, but they were more rice heavy.

Tony's Jamaican food has a nice outdoor space, with covered seating. I tried the curry chicken and the jerk chicken. I enjoyed that the meats were tender and had good flavor. I also appreciated that all meals come with rice and peas, veggies (cabbage, carrots), and plantains. I think for the price, it's a good deal. The staff were friendly too. There is some free street parking nearby.

This place has been clutch for a minute. Find me a better oxtail in the city than here? Rice and cabbage are tasty. Only gripe, is that sometime the things you're craving are out. Good for them, not so much good for you when your mind is set. Rating: 4 - 4.5

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I never ever write reviews but this was just the most rudest person I've met in Austin. I walked up and had a big smile on my face and he doesn't acknowledge me at all. In fact he looks past me and gave someone their order and walked back to the back to talk with his coworker. Like I'm not even there. So I had to get his attention on multiple occasions until he finally FELT like taking my order! Mind you he has looked PAST me MULTIPLE times with a rude demeanor. His face in the picture is how he kept looking at me. Mind you...I'm literally the happiest smoky girl ever. So this just ruined my experience here. I'm upset because the food is amazing haha. But yeah no I will never come back...

First time having Jamaican food in Austin, and was pleasantly surprised. I got the jerk chicken plate which came with 2 decently sized pieces (only one leg piece), with rice and beans, plantains, and some veggies. It was a well portioned meal for $13 and was seasoned well. My only critique is that the chicken tasted a LITTLE bit dry on the inside. There was plenty of sauce and seasoning on the outside. Maybe it's because I'm Pakistani and am used to eating halal chicken that's naturally more tender/juicy. But my friend and I came 10 minutes to close and was still met with decent service, and I can tell that the people running the truck are genuine hard workers.

Ordered the oxtail meal for the first time on ubereats and it's absolutely delicious! I don't eat Jamaican food all that often but now I definitely have a craving for it. The oxtail with the combination of cabbage, plantain and rice goes perfectly together.

Oxtails are good. Plates kind of small for the price. Okay flavor. Would like to try other location. Service was good.

I tried the chicken fajita taco, but unfortunately the chicken was pretty dry and didn't have a ton of flavor. It also came with beans, which I personally don't like on my tacos, so I probably wouldn't order that one again. The pastor, however, was really good! I can definitely see that being one of their staple tacos and would order that again. As far as the sauces, I actually preferred the red sauce, although it was more orange in color. It had a really good flavor and was my favorite of the two. The green sauce was a little too spicy for me, and I just enjoyed the flavor of the orange/red sauce more. I also really enjoyed the rice! It was flavorful and tasty. It was $3 for a side and the portion was pretty small for the price, but I'd still say it was good. Overall, I'd come back, but next time I'd skip the chicken fajita taco and stick with the pastor.

I ordered 2 steak tacos and horchata, both very delicious. The horchata is milky and sweet but not crazy sweet, and topped off with cinnamon. I got them on corn tortillas and I'm glad I did: idk if they make them in house but somebody in some house is making these because they definitely aren't store bought, and if they are I want to know where! I tried the orange habanero and creamy serrano salsas. The habanero was spicy off the bat, while the serrano had more of a lingering burn. Both paired well with the steak. They have a little bar, too, though I did not imbibe this time. Seems like they have a decent selection of agave spirits, and even Campari behind the bar (iykyk).
