I contacted Krause after hours via their website and promptly received a call the next morning and was told that they could send someone that afternoon... which was amazing! A couple of hours later, I received another call saying that they could come out even earlier and, basically, were on their way. Upon arrival, the technician, Brian, was friendly, professional, and thorough in discussing all of our needs and physically looking at the locks that we wanted re-keyed. He promptly and efficiently performed the service and made sure that I tried the key in every lock before he left. It was a very stress-free experience and a pleasure to have Krause Key and Lock perform this service for us. And we were able to support a neighborhood company to boot, which is always nice. read more

Great service and always treats me well. We've gone several times to have keys made, and they work perfectly for a very reasonable cost. Today I had a mortise that I flipped around to go into our door - well, I screwed it up and it wouldn't work anymore. We took it in to have them fix it - 5 minutes later walked out with a working piece of equipment - and they didn't even charge us. Unbelievable Honesty!!!! I called Krause to have a service call to help unlock an old closet door as we do not have the skeleton key. So we had bought a used car that came with only 1 key. We headed to the local hardware store to have copies made. After 45 minutes of 2 guys trying to find the right key, the keys didn't even work. I had them come replace locks to my apartment and this locksmith was one of the rudest people who I have ever met. He was very rude to me on the phone, and spoke to me in a slow, babyish voice like I was a little child. When he was actually at the apartment, all he did was complain about how he had to replace the locks...which is his job. He could at least be a little more courteous. WOW!! I wish everywhere had customer service like Krause. I locked myself out of my car and they were there within minutes. The stupid tax for locking myself out was 54$ (which seems to be the going rate) but the info I got from the gentleman who unlocked my car was worth it. He not only unlocked my car quickly but he told me where to get spare parts, and to go get a spare car key made. Hopefully I won't lock myself out again. Yesterday, 3/28/13, my wife was locked in the bathroom when an old lock became completely disabled. She had not even used the lock. I called Krause and referred to it as an emergency. Within 25 minutes help arrived...courteous, professional and optimistic. It took awhile because the lock was a mess and firmly in place. The job was done beautifully, even cleaning up minor wood shavings. I considered the charge reasonable. I wish all of our experiences with the service industry were as good. read more

It was recommended to me by Dean Porter, a real estate agent that had nothing but excellent recommendations (and he is a great real estate agent too!- he was recommended to me as well). They came to my house to have all my locks changed. It ended up being very cheap because they did not have to change any hardware and therefore would not charge me for all those locks. I just had to make a change of key (he explained to me how to do it and gave me the tool). In addition to that, the guy was super nice to my dog (who is a barker) and me. I highly recommend a company that is so honest and trustworthy. I will call them anytime I need help with keys or locks, and will recommend them to everyone. A+! read more

I couldn't get my front door lock to lock or unlock with the key. Thankfully the back door still worked but they came out same day and with 1/2 hour had changed the lock and it now works beautifully. He even explained how the lock worked. I've lived in this house for 7 years without really know how it worked. The price was extremly reasonalbe. read more
