Okay, this was a fun find on road trip from Arizona back to LA. Kreem has both regular and vegan ice creams. The vegans two that I tried were on the very sweet side so keep that in mind when ordering the size. They had Ube which I haven't heard of so I got that to start. Really tastes and purple fits Palm Springs for sure ha. The vanilla was not my fave. The texture seemed off and it tasted like powdered sugar ice cream. I would've done 5 stars if the vegan options had at least one plain flavor to try. A sweet, cool little ice cream shop around the bend on Palm Canyon Drive. The decor is spot on. Ice cream flavors are so inventive.. like Lavender Coffee and Decaf, decaf coffee ice cream! Who does this? Kreem does! The vegan flavors for my husband were great but tasted a little thinner... could use some more fat somehow? Still very good. I tried the lemon merengue and I'm not a tart flavor fan but it was so creamy that it balanced well. Surprisingly, it tasted great next to rosemary. Both classic and fun ice cream flavors offered--I quite enjoyed the rosemary. One negative: they do not allow you to 'split' a single scoop, so if you're hoping to sample a couple flavors then you're forced to order 2 or 3 scoops (more than I wanted). Really cute decor and ambience in this small ice cream shop. Flavors are very limited. I came to try the Ube. Nowhere on the menu does it state that it has marshmallows in it which I do not like. The menu says the Ube is vegan. So I am assuming that the marshmallows are vegan. I didn't particularly enjoy it. To be honest, the Ube ice cream that Trader Joe's sells is far better. Nestled on the south side of Palm Canyon Drive, this shop has been one of the places we have wanted to check out for some time -- super happy that we finally did! The store is a perfect mix between a coffee shop and a craft ice cream shop. They had a fun selection of traditional flavors along with unique flavors...we ordered fruit loops (with actual cereal pieces) and confetti. Very interesting ice cream place that is unique in the spices that are used to augment the flavor of their ice cream. I tried 3 flavors, the Java chip, Lavender Coffee, and the Thai Tea ice cream. The java chip was very good, had an interesting coffee flavor with some chocolate chunks. The Thai tea ice cream was a miss, there was some kind of spice that is added and/or a spice that is missing, but either way it doesn't match traditional Thai tea or Thai tea ice cream that I'm more accustomed to trying. Ended up going for a scoop of the lavender coffee which was a very refreshing and delicious combination. Again, I'm not sure what spices and/or herbs were used to make the ice cream but most flavors are guaranteed to be different from anything you've tried before. It looks like the menu gets changed often, and they now allow multiple samples at this time which I definitely recommend to see which ones fit your palate. Do not pass this tiny place up, it is so easy to miss but do not do that. So many great traditional and unique ice cream flavors as well as vegan options made with coconut milk. I was born in the 70s and the bubble gum ice cream is the kind we grew up with not was a kid now would expect so make sure they taste it. The ice cream held up to the 105 degree outside temp. There aren't many places to get vegan ice cream in Palm Springs, so I was excited to hear about Kreem. Unfortunately, they don't do a great job with their vegan stuff. The vegan chocolate cookie ($4 for a scoop) was watery instead of creamy. The chocolate flavor didn't really come through. The ube sounded great in theory, but it's loaded with mini marshmallows, which gave the ice cream a weird, slimy surprise in every bite. Without the marshmallows, this might have been good. The service was efficient, but not particularly friendly. That's a pattern I noticed in Palm Springs, so I won't hold it against them. read more
