One of my favorite places to eat at. The service is always great. The food is even better.

Yummy food. Large menu to choose from. Sandwich came quickly. It was huge and needed to cut it up and take half home.

"best" fish dinners....cod, perch....they also have the best clam chowder!!!! service is great!!!read more

Many folks around town have raved about this little restaurant bar so we gave it a shot. Service…read moreupon entering was welcoming, many open tables and lots of seating options. The bar was quiet, calm, dark and cold but seemed like a chill vibe. Our waitress was okay, service was quick and she did her job well but didn't smile and wasn't very talkative or seemingly friendly. We asked what her favorite appetizers were and we ordered the Loaded Potato Balls based on her recommendation - they were great! 10/10! Loaded with flavor, very moist and served with 3 sauces - ranch, spicy ranch and sour cream. The ranch and spicy ranch were not great - tastes like they're bottled not homemade. The sour cream though, that was a good compliment. We both ordered the Fried Chicken Sandwich - 10/10! They're hand breaded, juicy and tender chicken breasts topped with lettuce, tomato and mayo on a perfectly warm brioche bun. Our meal was served so hot, it was perfect. I would absolutely go back just for this sandwich! The homemade chips for the side were great, crispy and lightly seasoned. I had the tater tots with mine and they tasted freezer burnt, wouldn't get them again. We also had a side of their house made coleslaw and it was perfect, ice cold and a great balance of flavor. Draft beer wasn't super cold - it would be better served in a frosted glass. Overall- it's good, we'd come again! Next time we'd sit at the bar top as the bartenders seemed to enjoy more casual conversation and friendly vibes with their customers.

I've been there twice now…read more First night (Saturday) there was very loud, derogatory rap music playing. Families with kids eat there, they should not have to hear stuff like that. It was very hard to communicate with the server due to the noise. The actual menu is a lot smaller then what is shown on their website. Especially fish options. I had grouper tenders which were small and mostly breading. Not worth it. Fries were excellent. Tartar sauce appeared to be pure mayo, no sign of relish or lemon at all. Ketchup, mustard, and salt were the only condiments on the table, not sure if anything else was available, like cider vinegar or even pepper. It's a pub, you would think all that stuff to be automatic. Second night (9 pm Sunday) I tried to go elsewhere because of my previous night's experience, but not many other options. Most of Alma was already closed. Tonight there was no music playing, so I was able to have a conversation. I had the olive burger with steak fries, my son had boneless wings with Thai sauce and waffle fries. Everything was very good, and a good value for the money. I guess I need a third night to be a tie-breaker.

Basically took my drink to the outdoor patio (which was nice) and ended the night. Although I can't confirm my family member who likes to drink alot said the place was undergoing sewer repairs in the basement.

We started with the Santa Fe nachos and fried pickle chips. The nachos were already soggy when they arrived, and the pickles were cut far too thick and not crispy at all. The portion of sour cream was also too small for the size of the nachos. We didn't finish either appetizer. For my entrée, I ordered the Train Wreck Burger with onion rings. The name ended up being fitting, but not in a good way. The burger was bland, and the fried egg that was supposed to be part of it was barely noticeable. I only ate about half. My son's hot honey chicken sandwich was just average and overpriced, and the fries that came with it were clearly overcooked and not fresh. They were taken off the bill, which was appreciated, but didn't change the overall experience. The restaurant itself was clean, and there are plenty of seating options including booths, high tops, and a bar. The service was polite, but overall the experience felt very underwhelming. For the prices they charge, the food quality simply isn't there. We left disappointed and won't be returning.

Not really that moist. Pulled chicken nachos......the chicken was cut up frozen chicken, NOT good. Also had queso on it which was really runny and made the nachos soggy. We chose the bar. * The lady that waited on us was nice and attentive. * Good beer selection, really liked they had two reds on their menu. And the beers were good. * Hand battered boneless chicken breast as very god. Would get again for sure. Big chunks of meat and light batter and a Buffalo sauce that was tasty but not all Tabasco. * The poutine fries tasted good. * And the beer flight in served in a neat little book. What could of been better: * The other waitress that just stood at the end of the bar glaring. * The loaded tater tots were not crisp and would fall apart. Kind of mushy. * While the poutine fries tasted good, the fries were big curled potato wedge type things. Not crisp and not quite the right thing for poutine. Overall I would go 3.5 stars. But Yelp doesn't believe in halfsies. It was better than 3 but just shy of 4. We will try again, as it's a cool little place off the beaten path.
