I love this particular location because they have fresh hot donuts all the time (the only one in the DC metro that does that)! Their original glazed donuts are my favorite especially hot or warmed up for a few seconds in the microwave. Sweet, soft and delicious. They also have pretty good coffee. That's what's happening in the following; I arrived to this location disappointed that the "HOT DONUTS NOW" sign was not aglow. However, I persevered in hopes that this was an oversight. While it was not an oversight I was greeted with such joy by the voice on menu and my disappointment was met with sincere empathy. I love this location. We've always had great service here and are usually lucky to arrive when the donuts are coming off the belt. My 5 year old son loves donuts and his first ever donut was an original glazed one from here on his third birthday. Since then, he always gets excited to check out the glazed donuts on the belt and also gets tarrive out another "special" donut from the case which most of the time is something with rainbow sprinkles. This past March, we also won the Golden Dozen Pass which was for the St Patrick's day promotion. That means a free dozen glazed donuts each month for the year So now we're here more often, getting our free dozen of glazed and whatever the specials are at the time. This review is based on 7 visits around 6:00-6:15AM in the last year. I have come here in an attempt to get doughnuts for the office, and every time I have to leave empty handed. The last was today, 6/2, National Doughnut day. This place usually opens late, not at 6AM as posted. They do not have hot doughnuts in the morning, and are consistently not making them until almost 7am. Though they usually have the hot doughnuts sign on, regardless of if they actually have them. The doughnut line appears to be malfunctioing as well, so that the doughnuts are started then thrown out due to errors in the process of the line itself. This place does not sell or offer what people think of when it comes to this brand, do not come here for doughnuts. read more

Krispy Kreme is the go to place for some fresh donuts, if you're willing to pay. It's not too expensive, but it's not your typical grocery store donut pack. Donuts: When it's hot and fresh, it's the best thing ever! It's so soft, chewy, and warm. When it's not fresh, it's still pretty good, but you can microwave it too. I'd only come here for the specialties or for warm donuts. Inside: Sometimes it's messy, but it's mostly clean. Might see some tissues here and there. It's also cool to see the donuts being made right in front of your eyes with the machine. read more

Lately the cost of fuel, plus rising prices here, it's not as fun as it used to be. This store has been here who knows how long. When the "hot sign" goes on you're in luck. You'll get their donuts fresh from the line. If you go inside you, can see a good amount of this production line. It's fun and quite fascinating. This store definitely needs to be renovated though, as it is showing it's age. First off I still dig this and any Krispy Kreme location. Their donuts are very tasty. There's something special about their glazed ones, although suggest you don't look at the calorie count. Employees are friendly and efficient, although the drive through line can be backed up. Skip the drive thru window. Takes forever and they really can't handle drive thru orders very well at all. Donuts are good, as always. Just make sure to order inside and not at the drive thru. the food is good at krispy kreme it always is but this is my first time here and my last.. I never ordered from this krispy kreme before the other ones I have been to was not like this. I go up to the register to order everyone else is looking at the doughnuts and im at the register, Le is behind the register and i start speaking to her and she is not listening, and i'm just waiting there waiting for her to respond to me, but she never did. Then this lady cuts in front of me and Le starts speaking to the lady that cut me?? trust i was bouta explode. This other lady forgot her name takes over for Le, nicest lady she explains everything to me. I go in line to get my doughnuts and low and behold Le is serving my doughnuts! My only complaint is that they need to replace the lights on the bug sign with their name; they always seem to have the bulbs out on some of the letters in name of Krispy Kreme. Something is always wrong or out at this location. Ordered a hot vanilla latte, was given as ice cold latte in a hot cup. Asked them to redo it and they microwaved it and gave it back. This KK is a bit disappointing. I placed my order via the drive-thru, and the lady was extremely pleasant. She tried to make me order a dozen of donuts, which was awkward and a little annoying. Good thing I didn't, because the donuts I received were not stale, but they were far from fresh. I also ordered iced water and it tasted like grease. The good thing about this location is the drive thru is open for 24 hours. The inside is huge and they have more than enough parking. I suggest making sure the light is on before venturing into this place. Otherwise you'll risk getting less than fresh donuts like I did. read more

Happy National Doughnut Day! One free doughnut of any type ! How popular is this place? They actually ran out of their classic honey glazed doughnuts! I had other errands to run so I came back 45 minutes later to pick my free HOT glazed plus 4 dozen more. WORTH THE WAIT! Their app has a BOGO fo a $1! Two separate transactions and I picked up 4 dozen 1 doz for our household and 3 for the neighbors. I walk here sometimes if I want a doughnut or hot chocolate. I try to forget it's there though for Clarke's sake. It's a de decent location and has the usual doughnuts that you'd find at any location. Since it's winter I walk over at times when I need a hot chocolate fix. The problem is that you never know if the hot chocolate machine will be working or not. Usually it's broken more often than not when I've gone. I've got prolly a 40% chance it's available. Stopped in for my usual donut and coffee but didn't receive the usual good service. I stood in front of the donut counter for 5 minutes, three employees looked at me but not one acknowledged me or said someone will be with you in a minute. As I was going to the door someone came from back room and I had to ask if they were open. He helped me with the donuts but had to holler for a lady to check me out. His shift had ended. Then i had to listen to them argue about who's responsible for the drive up window. This is the best Krispy Kreme shop in the DC area. The doughnuts are delicious and the service is usually fast. You can see the doughnuts being made in the kitchen on the conveyor. Pretty cool to watch. You can also see that the kitchen is very clean. That's important especially with the need for Covid-19 prevention. The employees wore masks, gloves and caps. There were shields along the counters. There was plenty of space for people unlike some bakeries around here. Didn't see any hand sanitizer though. Always bring your own just in case someone needs it. The customer area for purchases was very clean. My wife and I bought a dozen assorted doughnuts. We got two of each of the following: Chocolate Iced Glazed, Original Glazed, Glazed Lemon Filled, Glazed Raspberry Filled, Chocolate Iced Custard Filled and Glazed Blueberry cake. All of them were soft and moist. Only the blueberry doughnuts were a little too sweet because of the sugar glaze. Also the blueberry flavor was kind of weak. I normally like to describe the flavor of each item, but who hasn't eaten Krispy Kreme doughnuts. Suffice to say, every doughnut we got was great except for the blueberry. That one was still good especially because it was a cake doughnut. It wasn't dry like a lot of other cake doughnuts from different shops. We have been coming here for over 30 years. The doughnuts have always been fresh and satisfyingly delicious. The coffee is another story though. We've tried it twice just to be sure the pungent taste wasn't a one time problem. We get our coffee elsewhere. The service has usually been quick except for a few times when customers were having trouble with their payment. I say don't buy things when you don't have enough money. I didn't think I could get hot delicious donuts off the belt in VA but hey, this location runs their belt so much! Their "Hot & Fresh" hours are 5:30 AM to 11 AM and then 5:30 PM to 11 PM.
