You can purchase Krispy Kreme donuts at most grocery stores or convenience stores, but this is only 1 out of 3 locations in the DC/VA/MD area (the others being in Dupont and Rockville) where you can see them freshly made coming out of the conveyor belt. They're known for their original glazed donuts, but they also offer several other flavors, as well as coffee, tea, and milk. The car line stretched for at least 0.25 miles (according to my GPS). I was not waiting in that so I pulled up into a lot next door and made the regular line (on foot). I made it on the line at around 7:20. I was in my cap and gown bc of the graduation donut special they had going. I was approached a few minutes later and told they weren't accepting any additional customers. At this point, it was 7:30. Also, there was a sign on the window that said graduation donuts were only being given through the drive thru. Seriously?!!! That's not what the news release said. Anyways, in anticipation of them being out of graduation donuts, I had placed an order for pickup (paid $10 for a dozen). They have on more than one occasion sent the complete wrong order and acted surprised when I showed up to the restaurant to either get what I ordered or a refund. Today took the case though. I had a very simple order that included 3 different donuts to make up the dozen. When I received the order it was a holiday themed assortment. They didn't even try to give me what I actually asked for. I drove to the location and the manager had an attitude with me like I was the one that packed and sent out the completely wrong order. I was not offered anything to compensate me for having to drive to their restaurant to get my money back. I will no longer be ordering from this store. I would give more stars, but had a few issues lately. The companys website says they close at 11pm, but that the drive thrucis 24 hours. I have driven there several times and the drive thru is closed at 11 or even 12. In addition to that, I finally went there yesterday 2/27 in the open hours. We ordered half dozen donuts, 3 glazed and three jelly. While they were fresh and delicious, 3 of the jelly donuts didnt have jelly. I would love a credit for those, or at least an acknowledgement. Their coffee is great too but unfortunately if you come in about an hour before closing time, they usually only have regular coffee available, they don't brew flavored coffee after a certain time. They have plenty of parking, seating space and a drive through. Their bathrooms are usually clean and spotless, which is a bit surprising for a "fast food" sort of a establishment. During the daytime they get 5 stars but anytime after 9 it stinks. They don't have much of variety and the staff is not very helpful. It's 1:00 in the morning, the day before my friend is leaving the country. She turns to me and says, "Dude... We need to go on an American adventure!" I look at her, look at the clock, and raise my eyebrows, "Ugh... Where are we gonna go?" We dodge truckers and speeding cars in the rain and trek down 495 until we see the Alexandria exit. Stop light after stop light hits red and our enthusiasm dims as we fear we'll never make it... Suddenly, we see it. Glowing red and white is what we have built up to be heaven: Krispy Kreme. We turn into the parking lot and stop: we have to take a picture- proof that we made it, that we had arrived, who cares that it was 2am and no one else was in sight- we were there! We pulled around to the drive thru and were speechless. A tall sign showed a picture of every donut we had ever dreamed of: glazed, sprinkles, chocolate cake, jelly filled, creme filled, cinnamon bun, the list goes on. After ordering two glazed, the woman over the speaker asked us, "Is that it?" We both roared with laughter and I told her, "OH NO! WE'RE ORDERING MORE... A LOT MORE..." We scanned the menu and shouted out whatever looked appealing. In the end, we ended up with 12 scrumptious little pieces of heaven in a box. Order a couple drinks to wash down the sugar and we were on the road again. About 45 seconds later, it hit us. Post donut bliss: The sugar coma. I was driving and I almost passed out from the wave of pleasure that washed over me. I could tell the passenger felt the same way after seeing her smile and hearing her make a noise that is only appropriate for adult videos. Five minutes later, on the highway, we are both singing at the top of our lungs again and digging into more donuts. I love Krispy Kreme in general - as far as this specific location, I would give them three stars. Who doesn't like Krispy Kreme? I don't know what to put here... the lady didn't understand what I said over the speaker in the drive thru, so I drove up to the window for my order. I didn't understand her either. I did my best to convey that I wanted 3 donuts, and a cup of coffee with sugar and milk. Wait... wait... wait... This chick was taking her sweet time... Early this morning (8/3) a friend and I decided to get some doughnuts from Krispy Kreme. It was around 1:10am when we arrived there. Once we pulled up to the speaker in the drive-thru, we were told to "hang on, it's busy." It wasn't that busy, there was only one car in front of us, and you should never tell a customer to "hang on." He came back about 5 to 8 minutes later and asked "what do you want?" OK. Now my friend and I are looking at each other in annoyance at this point. We stated that we would like 2 dozen assorted doughnuts. After getting through the first half dozen or so doughnuts he tells us "that's unavailable" or "we're out" repeatedly at almost half of the doughnuts we wanted to buy. Finally, after ordering the doughnuts the guy (Frank Amponsah) asked if we wanted any drinks. We ordered a Pibb Extra and a lemon strawberry chiller. After ordering everything he asks us to RE- STATE what we ordered. He then asked "you said diet coke?" At this point I'm already frustrated and ready to just say screw it and yelled "MR PIBB" out of our window. We decided to just drive up to the window and order because we figured it would be quicker that way. (We were wrong.) When we got to the window, he asked us what we ordered again. We told him our entire order again. We got our doughnuts, some of which were incorrect but we didn't feel like going through that mess again so we took them. We got our drinks and instead of the Mr Pibb I had ordered, he began to hand us what appeared to be Hi-C or pink lemonade. We told him again, that we wanted Mr Pibb.
