I will start by saying when you the lights on, you know to cross lanes, u-turns or must go is a Must. It's been a while; however, they have a large parking area. From the appealing sights of the flashing light on the building sign to the donuts on a conveyor belt dripping with hot glaze. This is just from looking in from the window. Gotcha licking . We were greeted with a pleasant hello and smile and the aromatic smells of a variety of hot donuts. The server was helpful in her suggestions for favorites and prices. The cup of coffee, was decent with my hot donut because I couldn't wait. The decor is very nice and it provides a view of the main attraction, yes the donuts. They have some new and finger smacking flavors - Oreo; NY Cheesecake and Strawberry Cheesecake . Let me end by saying they also have restrooms, however only one commode and yes it waa clean. Only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because it's not the doughnut's fault and they were delicious. Waited 25 minutes in the drive-thru. This is the third time this has happened. Then I received incorrect items. The establishment is under-staffed for the volume they do, especially in the evening... Oh, and on one of the aforementioned times when I waited extensively, staff members were observed walking out and taking "smoke" breaks, where they passed a joint as the line grew longer. None of the employees wear masks when they are helping you or handing your food and they require us to wear masks to come in .. other family members of mine have been disrespected by the staff here. I had a coupon for a free donut for this location, 5 employees and only one other customer in the building. I had to wait about 10 minutes for the employee to make the other customers coffee and they employee was cleaning the coffee machines as he was in no rush to get to me. Finally it's my turn, I ask can I get any donut. I pick one, they have some issues with the coupon. Three employees later, "yeah it doesn't work with that donut". Ok I'll take anything at this point. This store lacked customer service and lost our business today. We simply asked if they served the Reese's donuts and all we got a short and rude "no" We asked oh you don't? And another rude "nope." A male employee comes on and proceeds to tell us it's a corporate product and their a franchise and they never had it. No apology or offer for assistance. I had many fond memories of going to Krispy Kreme with my dad. The memories were fond partially because they don't serve beer so Dad couldn't get wasted but also because the donuts were delicious and they contained enough sugar to keep me bouncing off the walls for a week. When my son was old enough I started taking him there and he loved it. They still don't serve beer. He loved the place and I felt like I was passing down a Southern tradition that didn't involve guns, racism or redneckery (well, not too much redneckery anyway...) That all came to a screeching halt a few years ago when my boy came home from school with some Valentine's Day cards that were actually coupons for a free donuts. "Wow! What a great marketing tool" I thought to myself as my son told me he wanted to take his dad out for a donut. Unfortunately, the coupons must have a secret expiration date written in invisible ink because the Donut Guy behind the counter told us they were expired. I informed him that there was no expiration date printed on the coupon and asked him to show me where it was. He agreed that there was no expiration date on the coupons but insistedthatvthey were expired anyway. The look on my son's face was heartbreaking. His plan to take Dad out for donuts was thwarted by some magical runes that mere mortals could not see. These runes said that Krispy Kreme was a heartless company that just made up the rule on the fly. Since then, we have not set foot in a Krispy Kreme. My son has become a Dunkin' Donuts fan and I have quit eating donuts altogether (mostly...I still occasionally visit a mom and pop donut shop). This is what a donut shop should be like! It was an amazing experience to take the family and see how the fresh donuts are made. When that hot and fresh sign is lit, you need to yank the car over and eat some of these things. I personally like the blueberry cake and the original glazed. Just before 8:30AM on Monday Jan 1st I went thru the drive thru for my first visit at the Mandarin Krispy Cream store. As soon as I placed my order I was shocked and disappointed at the attitude and arrogance of the guy taking my I order. He was unfriendly and gave nothing but short arrogant answers to any question I asked. The management needs to screen their employees better before putting them in front of the public. Anyone who knows me well knows that I LOVE donuts, and Krispy Kreme has some pretty tasty ones. Are they the best I've ever had? Heck no! But when it comes to donut shops in Jax, well, there really aren't any. You can't go wrong with these little delights, but my favorites are the glazed cream (or is it kreme?) filled and the sprinkled...hmmm, and the plain glazed are darn good, especially when hot off the conveyer belt..oh,.and the raspberry jelly filled...and tonight I tried a apple fritter that was sooooo tasty...ok, they are all pretty great. Sweet, delicious, and happiness are the smells upon entering into this Krispy Kreme. This location has been renovated and is very clean. The donuts are always fresh and pillowy soft. The always have fresh donut holes in cups and the staff is always very friendly. I probably eat more Krispy creme than I care to admit but when your in the mood you just can't help it.
