That sounds sarcastic but no, honestly when I drive away with my dozen doughnuts that I'm about to eat in the next 4 hours I have a huge smile on my face. I stopped in at 6:15am yesterday to buy 4 dozen mixed donuts and 3 coffee boxes for my staff. The lady who waited on me was quick, efficient, and pleasant (how can she do that so early in the morning). The other lady who had to fill the coffee boxes was also very pleasant...even though she had to brew coffee and then pour it into the coffee boxes because they don't fit into the brew machine. While I waited, I grabbed napkins and thought about grabbing creamer/sugar/etc. but decided we had some at work and left Krispy Kreme's stash alone. I also noticed how clean everything was, including the donut making assembly line which had a lovely "glaze-fall" that was a bit mezmerizing. Just before my 3rd coffee box was ready, I took my donuts and one of the filled coffee boxes out to my car. When I returned, I saw the cashier filling a smaller box with sugars & splendas as well as stir sticks. Then she pulled a new 1/2 gallon of half & half out of the fridge. When the 3rd coffee box was filled, the "coffee" lady smiled and wished me a good day as she handed it to me and the cashier walked with me to my car carrying the coffee accessories. We focus on customer service where I work and had just done a training on how to create "WOW" moments for the customer by exceeding their expectations. If I could rate the Krispy Kreme doughnut shop with zero stars I would, not because of their doughnuts, I do like an occasional Krispy Kreme but because of their service and their menu selection. The last 3x we have gone (within a 4 month period-dont eat doughnuts often) they have been out of doughnuts before 8pm. Their hours say they close at 12am, the manager says it's 11pm. So folks they have incorrect hours do make sure if you want to buy your night munchies to actually go in before 8pm because they were out of 4 selections they advertise on their menu and they were not specialties. When we talked to her manager she was flippant, didn't care and all she said was her doughnut guy leaves early. As a business owner I'd say that your not planning right if your out of your popular selections. Fine, I'm not the doughnut lady, she is but doing the right thing and making it right to keep your customers should be priority one and there was zero care in the world. read more

Stopped in today for a treat and it didn't disappoint! This National chain is the same good, fresh donuts in both locations that we have visited (Columbus, OH and Seattle)! I had an opportunity to greet/meet a few of the staff and they were very kind and had nice smiles: Kenji, KeAndra, Alma, and the manager Armida! I enjoy the opportunity to ask for names and greet the workers properly especially when they are friendly and approachable! This is our second time stopping in for donuts (original glazed donut and jelly filled...yummy!). They gave us a couple tips on best times to come in order to get donuts hot and right off the rack! We will certainly try to come between 3:30-5:00 on Saturday's which I believe they said is one of the times the donuts are being made fresh! Also, we learned that we can call ahead and ask for a special order for no extra cost even if it's just for a very small order. They don't nomally make jelly filled donuts with white icing on top but they will do it if we call ahead! Now that's what I call good service! While on yet another visit to Seattle Pottery - my home away from home - I noticed the huge Krispy Kreme sign and had to fight the urge to make a quick detour to what was once a staple food for Seattlites. It was 2.30pm when I was driving back past the pearly gates (oh, I mean the Krispy Kreme entrance) and the hunger pains from the lunch I never ate proved too much to resist. To tell the truth, I was never a huge fan of Krispy Kreme as they actually tasted just too sugary for the likes of me. So I don't know what it was that tugged at my heart strings this particular day, but I felt the need for sugar and a little comfort that only a sugary doughnut could provide. I took the plunge and proceeded through the drive thru where I politely stated my request of "1 Krispy Kreme, please". I was greeted by a courteous and cheery salesperson who repeated my order for 1 dozen Krispy Kremes. He was in shock when I corrected him and told him that I only wanted 1 Krispy Kreme and he confessed that no one had ever ordered just ONE doughnut before. Well, they have now! It definitely managed to hit the spot, however one doughnut was more than enough and something my waistline could have done without. I will probably not return because of all the guilt associated with eating junk food, but I am giving them 4 stars because the staff were fabulous, the service was fast (you don't want to keep those sugar crazed junkies waiting) and the price is right - espcially for one little doughnut! * They lose 1 star for the unhealthy fat content in most, if not all, of their yummy treats! I will not return. I had not been here in several years. Ordered online, thinking it would be most efficient. Noticed when I went inside to pick up the order that the prices for what I thought I ordered were different than what I paid online. Counter person said he was new. Didn't know what the problem was, could not fix it, and good luck in the future. Did get the mgr upon request. She never asked what I wanted, (I just wanted a couple dozen of the plain glazed donuts), and that was that. I left without comment and with the thought that this was a perfect example of how to lose a customer, not just today, but as well as in the future. And when a customer is dissatisfied, as I am, they tend to tell 8 to 10 people, vs a customer who is happy and tells two or three. There are lots of options in Seattle to buy donuts. This heightened adoration and great reviews are solely for the original glazed donuts. I could eat a full box of it, I could make a pillow out of it just so it can be in my dreams. Let me tell you a dramatic story, after a failed attempt of searching for a food truck in the SODO area, walking in the rain. I figured to at least eat something, so there it was, standing right there like the gates to heaven. A krispy kreme chain. So I went up to the counter, and got the glazed original donut, who can't do without it? No one. I munched on the baby like there's no tomorrow. After my blood sugar levels were pumped, I started jumping with joy (inside of course, I don't want to alert observers that I was in fact mentally crazy). These donuts does things to you. Especially if they're right out of the oven, a fresh warm batch, oh the things I would do with you, hold you like a frisbee and swing you into my goal (in my mouth). The glaze was melting with my hot fingers, the donut was soft yet the outer crust was crispy (from all the coagulated sugar). I also love the raspberry filled donut, with each time, a sweet jam fills your pie hole, yes please (sprinkle some powdered sugar on that baby). MHMMMM Fun fact: I just realized that if their sign was flashing red, it means they just recently baked fresh batches. I just knew about that. I came here yesterday morning to pick up 2 dozen donuts for my 3 year olds birthday party. I told the girl taking my order I wanted one dozen of the original and one dozen of assorted flavors, when I started picking my assorted flavors and was only at 5, she told me I only had 2 left and I said why I should have 7 more, then she said oh you only wanted 1 of each?? Uhhhhh yeah when did I ever say I wanted 2 of each?!?! Then she rolled her eyes and acted like I was in the wrong!!! So who doesn't like a warm doughnut for free? There really aren't many things I like more then fabulous pastries and I like them even more if they're free. The Krispy kreme in sodo is my favorite because it has ample seating and the staff here seem to be pretty nice. I always keep my eyes pealed as I drive down first avenue for that glowing red sign, that's the que for all us doughnut freaks to go running into krispy and snag a freebie, on the house, still warm out of the oven or fryer or whatever they put it in doughnut. Their originals are still my fave though I've tried many a variety and I continue to go back for an occasional sugar rush. Fair warning to all those of you who have read about Paula Dean's Krispy Kreme bread pudding recipe, I have made it and it calls for butter, cream, eggs, krispy kremes and condenced milk... yup you read that right that spells d-i-a-b-e-t-i-c COMA all over it. I come here once in awhile, since it's relatively close to where I live. They were having a 2 dozen for $13 deal, in honor of Friday the 13th. Whenever I come here, about 40% of the donut trays are empty. It's mainly just glazed, and some nasty filled donuts that nobody wants that are left. Whenever you ask if they're going to be putting out more maple bars, or speciality donuts, they reply with "what I have out, is all I got right now". Bruh. It's not like I'm coming in 10 minutes before closing. It's literally 2 PM, and you can't manage to put anything but glazed donuts out? At first, I thought that maybe it was just a busy day. But NO. Every time I come here, it's always the same empty trays. I rarely ever use public bathrooms, but I really had to go that day. I highly regretted the decision after stepping foot in their disgusting ass unisex bathroom. You'd think that since it's a keypad locked bathroom, that it would be clean. NOPE. It had to be the worst bathroom that I have ever stepped foot in, in my entire life. If you think I'm exaggerating, go and see for yourself. It's worst than a gas station bathroom, and that's saying something. There was urine on the floor, urine on the toilet seat, and basically urine everywhere. It's basically a type of bathroom, that you would see in the horror movies. The donuts are the same as any other Krispy Kreme, and they get rock hard the next morning. They always only have 1 person working the front, so expect long and slow moving lines. One time, there was only one guy working and he had to do the drive thru, and work the front. I felt bad for him. This location is a franchise, and you'd think that they would hire more workers considering how busy they get, but nope. The only reason I'm giving them a 2 star rating, is because there was ONE friendly employee the first time I visited. Other than that, they'd only get one star from me. read more

I don't like any other doughnut at Krispy Kreme except for the plain glazed ones (surprise, surprise). Calories? Who cares? Sugar?!?! What's that? It honestly doesn't matter when you're having only the best doughnuts in the world. So unbelievably good, tasty, creamy, etc. Anyways, the store is fairly plain.
