    6 Count Assorted Doughnuts

I stopped by Krispy Kreme doughnuts for a couple doughnuts my good friend. We ended up getting a half dozen and smashing three each. The quality of the done is a pretty fantastic, pricey but worth it

To be honest, I am on the fence with this Krispy Kreme location. As much as I love KK, this location falls short on all things that make you crave a Krispy Kreme doughnut the most.... 1) Don't expect piping hot glazed doughnuts coming off an assembly line and being made fresh in-house or 2) The flashing red "HOT" sign blinging that will make you cross three lanes of traffic for their enticing, "OG" vanilla creme addiction -- is nonexistent, no where to be found! As mentioned before, they don't make any donuts on site. They are all shipped in from the Alexandria, Virginia main store.....so no fresh & hot ones here! What you get is a good selection of doughnuts delivered to a box retail (storefront) for sale....which is no different than buying them in a grocery store in my humble opinion. Although this location offer a good variety of KK doughnuts, besides the famous HOT "OG" doughnuts, it's the monthly special or holiday select doughnuts that are what may peak my interest to stop here every now and then. Otherwise, catch me at the original Alexandria location or Dupont Circle storefront that at least makes them fresh as well. I ordered 3 - original glazed, 1 - raspberry filled doughnut & a small coffee. The donuts were decent but they tasted like any Krispy Kreme you could buy from 7-Eleven, Safeway or Walmart sadly. The coffee for the most part, was a no go. It tasted burnt, watered down and like they didn't use enough grounds. In all, just an OK visit....3 Stars at best! Nothing I will be going out of my way for anytime soon. The employees were nice tho' and the store was super clean!

The is is a new location which I think has been open or less than or year. I had meaning to come in for a minute, but I never had the actual free time for sweets. Obviously I've been to their other various locations over the years, and I've grown to love their delicious treats. So tonight was the night and I decided to go for a couple of my favorites. I ordered 2 strawberry iced glazed, 1cake batter, and 1 original kreme. The cake batter was a new flavor to me, and it has a vanilla type creme inside and it was quite tasty. Of course it wasn't as good as the strawberry iced glazed, but still delicious with it's 350 calories. I saved a single strawberry iced glazed and original kreme donut for another day- perhaps tomorrow.

Really high-quality and thoughtfully curated flavors…read more When we ordered the banana cream, they had to check if it was still in stock which was a cheeky sign on how tasty the donuts are. Our donut was light and fluffy, with a creme infused with real banana. You can tell that they are being thoughtful on their approach to artisanal donuts, and it really shows up in how they elevate this classic dessert. Its rare to find donuts that balance complex flavors, sweetness level, and good crumb but all of those things are what make it distinct fom others, especially chain restaurant donuts. Of course, these are probably made the day of and ours was a large and substantial size. Its definitely a treat-yourself type of moment to commit to the price point, but we weren't disappointed. My take on high‑price‑point food in Union Market is simple: that's exactly where you'll find it. So once you let go of that once you enter, you have a more pleasureable experience by allowing yourself to indulge and try to find the thing that will really fulfill you. And they did that for me. Thank you beautiful ladies who helped me select my donut!

Not $60 doughnuts .... And also described as not dreadful??…read more cinnamon struseul was best of the bunch and was still just okay. But wow were the rest disappointing (super frustrating bc they look very pretty). All of them felt old and dry, the buttermilk glazed (which tasted like it had citrus glaze icing) and the citrus cake (way dense) were the driest. Chocolate ganache doesn't even taste like chocolate more chemical than anything. Service was extremely slow when all they had to do was place doughnuts in a box -- also seemed like customers were an inconvenience. Overall absolutely go buy other doughnuts. Don't waste your money, product to cost ratio is 1 star.

The Glazed Cider Donut, Brown Sugar Bourbon Donut, Mocha, and Matcha Latte Donut are my favorite!…read moreThere's a galore of cake and yeast donuts with over 20+ classic and seasonal flavors. Best of all, there are mini donuts that are 1/2 of the size of the regular donuts (they have both!). The Classic flavors, mostly cake donuts are in the back while the seasonal yeast donuts and specialty pastries (croissant donut hybrids) are in the display case in the front. The issue is that while the donuts in the front are neatly labeled, the labels are teeny-tiny for the donuts in the back and impossible to read. I wish the labels were larger and there was a large menu for the full list of donuts (instead of the small chalkboard for just seasonal donuts). The super fluffy and moist cake Cider Cake Glazed hit the spot! Even though I prefer warm cider cake donuts, I didn't mind that it was room temperature. I couldn't resist the temptation to save the donut for the kids and noshed on the full donut not even leaving a crumb to spare! Nom nom nom. The seasonal (Sept & March) Brown Sugar Bourbon donut was fun to try. It was topped with delicious maple cinnamon frosting with a custard filling. While I couldn't taste the Bourbon flavor, the donut was tasty. The Mocha Donut filled with Mocha buttercream hit the spot! The seasonal (March) Matcha Latte cake Donut was divine! The seasonal (Oct) Caramel Apple Crumble Donut hit the spot with a maple salted caramel frosting and apple pie filling. I wasn't a fan of the Salted Caramel Cider or the Chocolate Cake donuts. They were a bit dry and after a couple of bites, I threw in the towel on both donuts. I also didn't like the Hazelnut cream donut (not a Nutella or ganache frosting that I expected). The Matcha donut filled with strawberry cream (April special) wasn't that good, the cream was way too sweet. Will come back for the Glazed Cider and seasonal donuts!

I made a same-day reservation on Open Table and was seated immediately. I ordered the scratch soda in guava, as that was the current seasonal flavor. It was delicious!! I'm not sure how homemade soda tastes better than normal soda, but I thoroughly enjoyed the drink especially with the flavoring. I ordered the goat cheese burger that comes with balsamic onion, lemon aioli, and fries on the side. I know goat cheese can be pungent and not palatable to all, but I've had it in burgers before and loved it so I thought I'd try Founding Farmers' rendition. I was actually not a fan. I knew I don't like onions and asked for the balsamic onions on the side, but I think I was most turned off by the lemon aioli layered with finely cut lettuce. I usually don't think I'm a nit-picky person, but I think the aioli made the lettuce soggier. I overall didn't love this burger's composition. Aside from this, the patty was juicy and tasted good with the goat cheese which was the main objective of the burger anyway. All in all, I think Founding Farmers is still a worthwhile restaurant to check out while in DC, but I won't order this particular dish again.

The salt levels were unbalanced in my juicy Lucy burger, the cornbread was lacking any sweet, the falafel burger was too think and had a dry patty, my Paloma needed fresher grapefruit that hadn't been soaking in simple syrup, my friend found her gnocchi heavy and lacking herbaceousness and acid. Not one dish clearly succeeded, except bizarrely the cinnamon sugar bacon lollis. The wait staff is relaxed and attentive, while the vibe inside is of hungry diners having (just) a good time.
