Read the wonderful Yelp reviews so I had try Krispy Krunchy. Unfortunately, the chicken was not crispy/crunchy. The chicken was moist but very very very very very very very very very very very very very salty. I can do salty but not Krispy Krunchy salty. We ended up nibbling on it and just ended up throwing the chicken away. The fries were soggy too. The biscuit was the most "Krispy and Krunchy" item. I would return for the biscuits only. The mac and cheese however was so boring it knocked a star off... as far as exciting goes, the mac n cheese fell somewhere between a dusty Thesaurus and an out of date phone book. Went there around 8pm on a Monday evening. It was empty. We were doing a take out for 4 pieces. Asked the owner if they could be all drumsticks instead of having 2 drums and 2 thigh. The owner said it would be extra charge for doing so and pulled out the menu only to his surprise where all the pieces were priced the same 1.69 if we were to order them individually. From that point i knew that he was trying to rip me off. Not even Popeyes or kfc ever charged extra for switching thighs for drums. We ended up getting the thigh and drums. Waited for like 20mins for 4 pieces of chicken where ours was the only order. The lady in the kitchen was also sweeping without any gloves and then frying my chicken. I kept watching if she touched the chicken or not. Luckily she didn't. To top things off, the chicken was fried too long and seemed like they didn't clean the chicken well. The two stars is just for the biscuit. It was a little sweet and tasted good. Won't be going back simply for the biscuits though. read more

My niece found this place. I asked her if this was the gas station place down the street. I had never ordered from there for that reason. After learning of its existence at the Liberty gas station/store and reading other reviews on Yelp, we decided to give Krispy Krunchy Chicken a try. Glad we did. Mo greeted us and made us feel very welcome. We ordered the Family Meal. Mo prepared it while we waited. Since this was our first time ordering, Mo gave us a couple Cajun chicken tenders to eat while we waited. Absolutely delicious! We took the order home to share with the family. We all enjoyed the fried chicken and, especially, the tenders. As for the other items, we liked the biscuits and the Mac & cheese side. We did not find the red beans & rice all that tasty (hence only 4 stars). We will return and will take advantage of calling in our order from the online menu. I'm not really sure what the hype is about, this place is average at best. That's not to say I didn't enjoy my lunch, but I probably just had my first AND last meal from here. Let's be clear, this is a lunch counter located inside what can best be described as a gas station. It's not clean, but it's not filthy. Staff were friendly enough, but then again, you're just ordering chicken over a deli counter. It's not kitschy or possessing any character of note...it's a gas station. I ordered a 3 piece chicken combo, which comes with fries, biscuit, and a drink. Your drink choices real quick, are a selection of cans or bottled water. Pretty standard. I opted for red beans & rice over the waffle fries (which looked average) and a honey biscuit. To be honest the food was decent, but I've had better. It was hot, the chicken was crispy, but it was pretty average. The biscuit was meh, and the beans & rice were forgettable. There's no dine in option, so you have to take it to go. If I had an option between here and say Popeye's, I'd most likely go to Popeye's. But, there's no chicken joints around this place, so if you're hankering for chicken, this place will do in a pinch. read more

Their chicken breast is fried fresh with every order and their chicken is out of this world. 100% real, natural, fresh, juicy chicken breast. It's like 95% chicken, 5% breading unlike most places like Popeyes or kfc where it's nearly all breading. I know this place is a hole in the wall and might look unappealing since it's in a gas station but if you really want to eat fried chicken please look no further than this place right here. I had seen on Yelp the gas station on 50 near us has Krispy Krunchy Chicken what ever that is. Looks like a mini franchise. Picked up an 8 pack & some red beans & rice. While we were waiting they let me try a chicken tender & biscuit. I was surprised, pretty good all around for fast food type fried chicken & sides; my rating is a comparison to the fast food places. Veg momos are good the sauce could be more spicy. Chicken is good rest of my family liked it. Make sure to call before you go pick up. The momos were few pieces short so they gave us extra fries: ) but so order by calling before going so the food is ready. read more

Was talking about fired chicken with some friends and we started talking about the gas station chicken place. I live 5 minutes away and have been driving by the place for 10 years and just never tried it. Finally tried it today and was not disappointed. I went around 3:00 and was told the person cooking chicken would not be in until 4:00. I left my order and came back at 4:00. My order was just finishing up. Had an 8 piece all white meat, 8 piece chicken finger, fries and mac and cheese. The regular chicken and tenders were delicious. Hot and crispy as advertised. The breast pieces had a lot of meat. The seasoned fries are large potato wedges with good seasoning. The mac and cheese was not so great. I will definitely go back to try the chicken sandwich. I wanted to try the wings but they were out. I'll have to try those next time too. read more

The food here is absolutely amazing. This chicken surpasses the taste of any fried chicken place in northern Virginia that I ever been to. The staff is very helpful and generous in giving out free samples which helped me choose my dinner for that night. They are well professionally staffed and the atmosphere is very authentic. The chicken tenders and biscuits are my favorite thing on the menu. I will definitely be coming back more often for dinner at this place. read more

This place has very good fried chicken. My wife is always in the lookout for real fried chicken that isn't KFC or Popeyes. And found people raving about the chicken here. Most places just serve tenders or boneless breasts, so it was nice to have traditional fried chicken . The chicken was moist and tender, with the right amount of spice. My kids that are 2 and 4 both loved the Mac and cheese, and I have to admit that I did too... it's gooey and cheesy and warm. Stop here when you get the chance, there aren't really any tables to eat at so be prepared to eat in your car or to take it all home. But that's ok, the few leftovers we had were still good cold out of the fridge! read more
