I wasn't impressed, but maybe it was just my timing. I was there a little after 1pm and the lunch rush was over. I felt that the chicken had little crunch, just kind of soft, and not very fresh. The staff are always super friendly here and true they don't know much enough but I've never had an issue ordering. The chicken is always hot and fresh and delicious. I go about once a week and always get the 4 piece tenders with a biscuit. Sides always look good too. Would highly recommend! read more

I've driven past this gas station a dozen times, seen the fried chicken sign and said "yeah right". Today I was nearby and hungry but didn't have a lot of time so figured what the heck. I recalled once when I asked some Tulsa locals where to get the best chicken in Oklahoma and found out it was at a gas station outside of town (and they were right, it was awesome). What you have to know is this isn't a restaurant and yes it is located in a gas station. Think indoor food truck and you'll get the idea. It's a tiny window off to the side and I understand that it's staffed by one woman who is only there around lunch time. We got there right after she left but she had bagged some in chicken and placed it in an adjacent hot box. We bought a bag of four huge chicken tenders for $5.49 and the cashier let us choose a dipping sauce to go with it. The chicken was still very hot, fresh and yes it was tender. Somehow they manage a lightly spiced, very crispy and very meaty tenderness that's still moist and flavorful inside. If you're used to valet parking and white tablecloths and are offended by the whole premise of food being served at a "smelly old gas station", this place isn't for you. If how the chicken tastes is what really counts to you then you should give this place a try. It's actually surprisingly good. read more

I know what you're thinking, "A chicken shop in a gas station...that's good?" This place is such a strange little gem that I had to create a yelp page for this location. For starters, they have a small kitchen set up in the gas station itself, which would usually be a concern, but they fry the food fresh in the store (when I last came in I talked to a nice lady named Elaine who was breading tenders). I'm not sure of the hours they are actually in the kitchen, but when they leave they put several packed meals in a heatlamp box that is still a lot better than the food you get at QT across the street. The chicken is good quality from what I can tell and actually tastes like home cooked fried chicken versus frozen strips. So far I have had the biscuits, chicken tenders, and jambalaya. The biscuits are the crumbly honey butter kind, which pairs nicely with the cajun seasoning on the chicken. The jambalaya was seasoned well and has entered the rotation for my lunch options in this area. I only eat fried food about once a month, but this chicken shop has just got bumped to the top of the list. read more

I have been to this location about 8 times. The service is always prompt and courteous and the food always good. The only complaint I do have is that I cannot leave a tip on my credit / debit card receipt for the employees. I would like the managers / owner to look into this. I am sure that all registers / credit card terminals are capable of performing this service with small modifications to the programs. I do not always carry cash on me and still would like to tip the employees who work hard. Thank you. read more

The fried chicken is the BEST! It's well-seasoned without being overly salty and fried to perfection without being greasy. It would be 5 stars if only they were more than a lunchtime window. They're available Monday through Friday, but I wouldn't count on them as a dinnertime option. read more

I'm from Dallas texas which is only about 3 hours from Louisiana so being a southern man born and bred, I came in this world with a crunchy thigh in hand. ha. I've been to 2 separate locations and I am absolutely blown away by the chicken actually being pretty damn good! popeyes has em beat and canes is another good choice but the colonel in KFC doesn't compare at all. gas station chicken shows there's some good finds 8n the last places one would look. This is the second time I have been to this restaurant inside of the gas station and it's a joke. The first time I went in there I asked for some chicken strips and was told how many do you want, I don't know what you want. The female that asked that question shrugged her shoulders and started shaking her head when I asked. I was so mad I was going to walk away and I should have but I didn't. I told her it was my first time there. The second time I went in there (today) and there was not anyone at the counter. I had to wait a few minutes than I walked around the store looking for something else. A cashier asked if I wanted something from there I said yah. She helped me then the other female came in from outside and said oh thanks for helping. That same female was from the first time I walked in. I would be using names but apparently they don't wear name badges, not the first time nor this time! If you don't have to go out of your way to eat their food I would definitely steer clear of this place! The customer service is not worth the hassle of getting the food.
