Ayden and the whole crew tonight deserve a huge round of applause. Drinks and food was above board. We had the charred oysters and Boil for 2. Everything was amazing. Additionally the crew handled a rude and toxic diner with grace. Had the food not been excellent, she would have ruined our night. She was a solo diner loudly on her phone from the moment she entered and couldn't even pause long enough to give her order to the server correctly. A family of 5 nearby were with small children caused less of a disturbance. Through it all Ayden smiled and served her and delivered excellent service to all his other tables. Tried to order Calamari, Onion Rings and Fish N Chips basket. All appeared on their website menu. Tried to order online and neither calamari or onion rings could be found. Called them instead and asked what the deal was. They said they were 'out' of calamari and onion rings so they didn't appear on the online order menu. Hung up and tried to order online two Fish N Chips baskets only. The online menu said to choose two sides. I picked Potato salad and Cole Slaw for one and Cole Slaw and Sausage for the other. Placed order Got a call a few minutes later saying they were 'out' of Potato Salad. Told them to swap in another Cole Slaw. Online confirmation said order ready for pickup at 645-650. I arrived at 645. Restaurant was practically empty for a Saturday night at prime time. It became obvious they hadn't started on the meal yet. I was told it would be a few minutes. At 705PM (20 min later) they finally came out with it. I didn't inspect it, just took it home. Opened it up to see the Fish N Chips baskets were missing the 'Chips'... I mean seriously... WTAF is with this place? Too annoyed to drive back and fight with them, so we just ate what we had. It tasted OK, but really disappointing overall. Who the hell runs out of chips?? read more

Such a fun place! It's casual and friendly. If you want to get your hands dirty and experience a little Louisiana Seafood Boil in Arizona this is the place! You can choose what you want in your boil bag...shrimp, crab, lobster, crawfish, mussels, clams. You can add corn, potatoes, sausage, etc. Then you choose your sauce and spice level! We LOVE the trifecta sauce, it's the combo of their cajun, lemon pepper, and garlic sauces! It's delicious! We've actually thought about ordering just the sauce to go so we can cook with it at home, it's that good! You get your bibs, gloves if you want them, seafood crackers, picks, paper towels, and a bucket! Your bags come out steaming and then you go to town!!! It's messy goodness and fun to work for your food. My daughter and I usually split a bag. Last time we did 1 pound of shrimp and a 1/2 pound of mussels and that was hard for us to finish. We probably should have done 1/2 pound shrimp and 1/2 pound mussels since we also added corn and potatoes, just for reference. They have a large menu of things and also a kids menu if anyone isn't ready for the boil in a bag, but that's what we come for! We write our name on the wall when we come and the kids enjoy finding our names from past visits while we're there! I like they serve their wine in small mason jars which goes with the theme of the place. I also really like their cocktail sauce, it's sweeter than most. The service has always been great! Our family went to Angry Crab Shack for the first time this past week and we had a great time! Our server, Shane, was phenomenal. Super knowledgeable about the menu, helpful in getting us exactly what we wanted, and friendly. The restaurant is really fun and our kids loved the atmosphere. The kids loved their meals with the mac n cheese and chicken tenders, but they aren't big fans of spice so they passed on the fries. My husband and I loved our boils. He got the garlic sauce on his and I got the trifecta, and both were delicious! We loved everything we had here and we will definitely be back! read more

I placed a pick up order for shrimp and lobster. I got home and they didn't add the lobster at all. I doubled checked my order and they did charge me the extra $18 for lobster but it was not included. Taste was great but I don't think I'll ever order for pick up again. read more

Walked in for a service of 5, was promptly seated and had to wait five minutes before we were approached by our server, Ayden. We ordered our drinks and food. There were 3 other tables when we sat, and by the time we ordered our food they had finished and left the restaurant. As you can see in the picture, no one was there so the place wasn't busy. Brought our drinks and forgot one of the drinks that my sister ordered. Ok, that's fine we will let it pass because it happens. Brought out the rice and it was freezing cold. Again.. we let it pass. The final time we saw our server was when he brought out our shrimp boils (they forgot our two boiled eggs btw) and then he went off to the other side and we never saw him again. Didn't give us bibs or gloves. Did not come back around to refill our drinks or ask us anything. We had to flag someone from the back to get us the gloves. In the end, we had to walk up to the counter and wait there before our server eventually came over to have us pay (he was behind the bar talking to other people). Had to tell him to take off the eggs from the check, to which he responded "Oh you didn't get your eggs?". To top it off, Ayden had the audacity to say "Thanks for the tip" to my 17 year old cousin as we walked out. It's funny, because we paid for the food, not for the service at the end of the day given how we were treated. I'm a huge tipper but the service we received did not warrant a tip at all, especially since we spent exactly 2 minutes in his presence. Very unfortunate experience as we have been to the one in Norterra and did not have an issue. Oh well! read more

The grilled shrimp po boy was excellent with plenty of shrimp on a good roll with a nice low level spicy mayo. The crab legs in a bag also got great reviews. Our server Megan deserves an a +++++++++ She wins at the life and the serving game. Probably one of the best servers I've ever had in my life. She was amazing. She showed our friends (and us) how to complete crack and crab and lobster open. And all the parts to eat and not eat. She was very attentive and friendly. And my daughter made friends with her. She brought out a lobster for my daughter to touch and hold. Then she let my daughter help her cash out our table and her last table and had her working on the computer and handing people their bills. So cute. She even gave my daughter $5 for helping her. It's needless to say my kid was spoiled last night! This was my first time to an angry crab shack and have always wanted to go. The fried pickles were awesome. Our lobster tails, shrimp and crab legs were amazing. I loved the gumbo. They were out of oysters which I was sad about but I basically wanted everything on the menu so it helped with process of elimination. Our friend suggested this because there are none in Prescott and her husband's friend was visiting from England. Everyone writes on the walls and tables of the restaurant so we did our part as well! I liked how there were sinks in the lobby for washing hands after eating. Extremely smart. I hate going to the bathroom 3 times while I'm eating shellfish to wash my hands. ALSO! I've never had the pleasure of using shell cutting scissors to get into my crab legs. I'm used to using tiny forks. I never want to use a tiny fork again. Really though, I can't get over how amazing Megan was. I live in mesa and would be willing to travel back to this location just to have her again as a server. read more

I'm from out of town but visit Phoenix frequently. I have been to another location before. My visit was so subpar I am writing this review as I cash out. Restaurant wasn't packed at all and we were seated immediately. Our waitress was Ash... nice enough but wouldn't say friendly. We started with an order of Cajun fries, extra Cajun seasoning. The fries were hot and freshly made but we had to ask for more seasoning as you could barely see any seasoning nor taste the seasoning on the fries. We also ordered the wings "boiled sauce " lemon pepper. Wings were a complete disappointment. Looked half baked almost, not tossed in butter as the waitress said they would be.... Also barely any lemon pepper seasoning. It appeared the cook shook the lemon pepper seasonings once over the basket and sent them out. Yet again, we ask for extra seasoning..... to which Ash did go to the cook to get some. No joke.... We were brought maybe 3tsps of lemon pepper seasoning. At that point I let her know I no longer wanted the wings... Never touched them . We app got the plain pound of shrimp in the bag. Everything else you would traditionally get in a bag you will pay for separately such as per potato, corn cob, etc. There was music going so gives Cajun feel to the place. read more

It is a little on the pricy side for dinner, but was reasonable for the types of seafood they offered. We got a custom seafood boil with shrimp, crawfish and some extras like potato and corn. Everything was hot, fresh and delicious, and it was a ton of food. I have had seafood boils before a few times, but never where they toss it in sauce also and the sauce our server helped is pick was delicious. have passed by this crab shack for a few years and we finally decided to go last week . i grew up in new england and spent 40 years on both atlantic & pacific coasts and made a living fishing for cod ,salmon and shellfish = lobster, oysters , clams , mussels & crabs . i have lived in phx. for the past 20 years , and wanted to give the crab shack a little slack knowing we live in the desert , but still expect reasonably fresh seafood here cooked properly. wanted to go for lunch , but this location does so little business , they do not open until 3pm. . ok , so we went on a tuesday. looks like capacity is 100 or so , at 4:30 we were the only customers there [we were about to find out why ]. first the good = the waitress was friendly . that's it for the good . the bad = for appetizer we ordered 6 grilled oysters for $16.- two of them were smaller than your thumbnail , the other 4 i'd classify as small. all were flavorless . $16.- ? a massive ripoff . for entree ,my wife ordered shrimp and crab special bag combo , i small red potato ,1/2 ear of corn , 1/2 lb. shrimp and 1 snow crab cluster, = $35.- potato wasn't cooked enough , shrimp and crab were edible but forgettable . for entree i have been dying for good softshell crabs ,so i ordered the softshell crab basket , $18.- which stated 2 breaded crabs which comes with french fries and 1 side .i chose coleslaw . i also ordered a side of onion rings. the breading ? on the crabs was unidentifiable to the taste but looked like cornmeal , the crabs were way undercooked and were wringing with oil , horrible garbage ate part of 1 and that was all i could stomach , the $6.- onion rings were hot circular oily and tasteless .the french fries were the highlight of the meal ,as they were at least edible. so for $80.- plus tax and tip , we got about the worst attempt at a "seafood " dinner. yes ,we left a good tip for the waitress as none of the horrible food was her fault. when we got home we both felt a bit queasy for several hours. instead of going here , we suggest you just throw your money in the toilet and save your time and gas $. as i said in the beginning - at 4:30 on a weekday afternoon in a highly populated and travelled area of phoenix , we were the only customers in a place that holds 100 + . it cost us about $100.- to find out why . no more of this franchise " seafood" restaurants for us. ANGRY CRAB SHACK ?
