Let's start with "you can't beat the breakfast deal!" The Milbrea Eggery selections include protein, eggs cooked your way, hash browns and your choice of buttermilk or Swedish pancakes. A great value meal. We came in Father's Day early morning 7:00 open and first in line. By the time we left 8:00 or so there were still plenty of open tables. So not sure if we needed to make first seating. Parking lot and street parking nearby. Servers came right away to take any drink orders coffee, tea and water etc. the service was good. Refilled water and coffee a couple times during our meal. We ordered Chicken fried steak and eggs, nice and juicy patty with gravy. Eggs cooked perfectly over easy. Nice portion of hash browns Supreme omelette, chunky meats, mushrooms, cheese pretty good but a bit too much sauce. Maybe ask for sauce on the side is better? Corned Beef hash and eggs, nice portion of corned beef. Not overly salty. Perfect over easy eggs. Not bad at all Swedish pancakes, house specialty. Thin cakes with lingonberry butter. You don't need syrup! So tasty! Buttermilk pancakes, thick and fluffy. We all enjoyed the food and had a bit of leftovers to take home.

This place is a staple of the area. I got the pork chops and eggs which were all really good! The food was cooked perfectly which was paired with hashbrowns and I chose the side of Swedish pancakes! The hashbrowns were cooked really well and the Swedish pancake was really soft and had a good berry butter on the side! 10/10 will always go back

I had a great experience at Millbrae Pancake House! The service was excellent they truly went above and beyond when there was an issue with my order. They fixed it right away and even let me take home the corrected order at no extra charge, which was such a thoughtful gesture. The pancakes are delicious! My fiancé and I love splitting them as a little breakfast dessert after our meal, they're the perfect treat. Just a heads up, they can get pretty busy on weekends, so depending on your party size you may have to wait a bit. The wait is worth it though, especially for the food and the friendly service!

Stopped by for breakfast since I was in the area. This place has that old-school charm--nothing fancy, just a classic spot that's been around since 1959 and is a local neighborhood favorite in Millbrae. I ordered the fried chicken and waffle special with coffee. The interior is a bit dated with dim lighting, but that seems to be part of its character. It was surprisingly busy for a Monday morning, so clearly it still draws a crowd. I hadn't been here in a long time, and it was a nostalgic return overall.

Millbrae Pancake House is definitely up there with the best breakfast spots. I grew up local to the area but this one place I could never outgrow. If you have to wait for a seat, you'll get a number. So stay close to hear your number called. But once seated, the menu is big but simple. They highlight the pancakes but don't skip over the waffles and their other special items. My go-to is always the chicken fried steak. It's steak, battered and fried like chicken. The eggs are cooked to your preference. I have to say the potato hash are my least favorite. Only the outside is crunchy, the inside is just soft, mushy potatoes. But when you eat it all together, it's still pretty good. Instead of toast, I opt in for 2 buttermilk pancakes so I get best of both worlds. My waitress was on top of filing my coffee to make sure I had a hot cup. The waffles in my opinion are one of my favorite, buttery, fluffy but also gave a nice crunch. Definitely one of my favorite breakfast spots. Not just in the bay area, but everywhere.

Checked out Millbrae Pancake House around 12 PM on a Saturday. The line outside looked intimidating, but don't let it scare you off: I was told it would only be a 15-minute wait and it was maybe a 20 minute wait. I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak and the Swedish Pancakes. The portions are very generous, so come hungry! The Swedish pancakes were delicious, though they weren't exactly what I had imagined them to be. Still, the meal was solid comfort food. The restaurant has a great old-timey vibe that feels very nostalgic. Even with the Saturday rush, the service was fast and the servers were incredibly nice. I'll definitely be coming back!

"Half a fried chicken" that came with my chicken and waffle.

I ordered the chicken and waffles, which comes with half a fried chicken. I got 1 smallish breast and 3 small wing/drummette pieces. Another person in my party ordered the same and got 1 breast, 2 thighs, and 1 wing. When I pointed out the obvious discrepancy to the waiter, he said the kitchen portions it out and that's just how it is.

This was the #1. I forgot to take a pancake picture

Service was brisk for a busy Friday morning. Parking can be tight in the little lot but doable. Otherwise, side street parking is available. The food always comes out quickly. Always get the pancakes here, even if you are not hungry hahah

Millbrae Pancake House has been a solid breakfast spot for me. I've tried multiple items on the menu and it's always consistently good. It's not one of those trendy, over-the-top breakfast places, but it's dependable and well executed. Today I tried the chicken fried steak and, like the other breakfast items I've had before, it delivered. The steak was crispy and the gravy was flavorful. I'm also a big fan of the Swedish pancakes with the lingonberry butter. They're light and really delicious.

I took my mom here recently after she got some blood work done. It was pretty busy as usual (who doesn't come here), and we ordered coffee, and I got the banana pancakes. For this review specifically, I would have gone 5 stars, but the gentleman serving drinks gave us warm coffee, instead of freshly hot. He did fix the mistake, but it took almost 10-12 mins for him to notice us flagging him down for the issue to get fixed. I still really enjoy this place, and will continue to come back! Pancakes were solid, and I didn't leave a crumb.

Nice breakfast spot in Millbrae gives a small town feel. Your standard breakfast options (try the chocolate pancakes) with no frills service and is super busy during peak times. Relatively quick turn over and plenty of seating options for small and large groups...parking a plus!

Went here after flying into SFO early in the morning. We got seated quickly and the food came out very quick too. Food was just ok, nothing much really stood out. Omelettes and hash browns were decent, but the Swedish pancake (crepes) were meh. I was hoping for more flavor from the lingonberry butter but was disappointed (looks just like somebody threw lingonberries into the butter but it wasn't really blended or anything like that).

I have heard of this place and people hyping it up and decided to go. When going, if there is a line they will give you a ticket and call out the numbers for when your table is ready. The restaurant is spacious. The food was eh. I ordered pancakes that had bananas and added chocolate chips. The pancakes themselves were dry and just not what I expected. I ordered a side of sausage and they were cold.... Service was ok, could've been better. So no, this place is not it, but of course every person has their own judgement!

This is a gem look at the karats(carrots)

On the menu under the buckwheat pancakes it says whole wheat. Which is it? Buckwheat or whole wheat because those are two different things.

That's something you need to ask the restaurant but I do believe it's whole wheat is what I have When I order pancakes

    Do they take over-the-phone reservations?

They don't usually, it's first come - first served. I've gone with large parties before and usually show up early to give them a head's up and they have been able to seat us together after a bit of a wait.

    Is there halal options?

Not to my knowledge, though it couldn't hurt to ask your server. Also, based on the taste, I'd…

What's happening to the waitresses during this quarantine? Are they ok? I'm thinking of you guys and hope you are ok.

    I'm not sure I haven't been here!

Are they open on black friday?

I just called, they are not answering. If your close you should stop by :) get there soon, the lines get long fast!

    Anything here gluten free?

    I think the water is.

At my seat (depicted) you get live behind the scenes of a kitchen. Me personally, I enjoy watching my food being cooked in front of me, so I enjoyed it. I originally went because of looking at the prices on an image on yelp. It was $16 for sausage, eggs, hash browns, and pancakes. That's a great deal! But, once I got there inflation kicked it up to $18. Not the biggest difference to deter, but just letting everyone know the real price. I got pancakes, eggs, hash browns, and bacon (depicted). The eggs were good, pancakes were very good, hash browns were okay, and the reason for 4 star instead of a 5.... the bacon. The bacon wasn't crispy and cooked to order. It was chewy and I guess they cook it before and then heat it up on the griddle after. It is super noticeable from the taste, but especially from the texture. I would recommend this place to anyone, but just be aware with the vital advice I wrote.

My pork chop dinner included soup or salad, slice of toasted and buttered sourdough, potatoes or rice, vegetables and choice of dessert. All for just under $30 before tip. The meal was as expected for a '60s coffee shop. Salt is the dominant seasoning. The turkey and rice soup was a smart way to use leftover ingredients. The boiled red potatoes were good. The two thin pork chops were supposedly marinated, but I couldn't tell from tasting them. They were over cooked--dry, tough and needed some herbs. DH had the cheeseburger with potato salad and praised the meal. He also devoured my dessert--ice cream with chocolate sauce. Service was friendly and efficient, making me want to return. Next time I'll have something like a sandwich or burger.

So, coming here, first off, ALL the people who work here are wonderful. Very kind, professional, helpful and they act like they want to be here. I was helped quite a bit by Yesenia, and she was amazing, took great care of me! So kudos to management for what seems to be that, in turn, they take good care of their staff. It was a fairly long line to order and, at first, I sorta wished they had table service instead -- but it ended up moving fairly quickly and was very easy to order. They give you a number and you choose your own table, either inside or outside. On a Saturday morning, although it was busy, there were plenty of tables. My coffee came right away and it is good coffee. And I was told its Crepevine's own branded coffee, organic blend. My Thai crepe came not too long after. It usually comes with both peanut sauce and pesto. But I don't like pesto (and what does that have to do with Thai anyway?) so I asked for it to be prepared with just the peanut sauce. Unfortunately, that got lost and what I was served came with no sauces at all in the crepe. They were happy to take it back and have it re-done and it came out and a short time later with the peanut sauce inside ... and was nice and hot -- and delicious! The side salad that comes with the crepe usually has balsamic vinaigrette but I noticed that one of the menu items is a Thai Salad so, in keeping with the theme, I asked if they could put the dressing for that salad on my side salad and they said no problem, and it was very good -- a lemongrass dressing. The home potatoes were decent although I like mine well done with crispy edges, which these weren't, so I'd probably ask for that next time. And, btw, the value for the money is really good -- they give you A LOT of food! I actually couldn't finish everything on the plate. That all said, I don't think I'll come here on a regular basis, don't live nearby, but I'll definitely come back again, maybe when I have a guest in town -- it was a good meal at a good price and with excellent service and atmosphere, and the few minor problems I had were solved very quickly and efficiently, so 5 stars well deserved.
