Stopped by for breakfast since I was in the area. This place has that old-school charm--nothing fancy, just a classic spot that's been around since 1959 and is a local neighborhood favorite in Millbrae. I ordered the fried chicken and waffle special with coffee. The interior is a bit dated with dim lighting, but that seems to be part of its character. It was surprisingly busy for a Monday morning, so clearly it still draws a crowd. I hadn't been here in a long time, and it was a nostalgic return overall.

Millbrae Pancake House is definitely up there with the best breakfast spots. I grew up local to the area but this one place I could never outgrow. If you have to wait for a seat, you'll get a number. So stay close to hear your number called. But once seated, the menu is big but simple. They highlight the pancakes but don't skip over the waffles and their other special items. My go-to is always the chicken fried steak. It's steak, battered and fried like chicken. The eggs are cooked to your preference. I have to say the potato hash are my least favorite. Only the outside is crunchy, the inside is just soft, mushy potatoes. But when you eat it all together, it's still pretty good. Instead of toast, I opt in for 2 buttermilk pancakes so I get best of both worlds. My waitress was on top of filing my coffee to make sure I had a hot cup. The waffles in my opinion are one of my favorite, buttery, fluffy but also gave a nice crunch. Definitely one of my favorite breakfast spots. Not just in the bay area, but everywhere.

Checked out Millbrae Pancake House around 12 PM on a Saturday. The line outside looked intimidating, but don't let it scare you off: I was told it would only be a 15-minute wait and it was maybe a 20 minute wait. I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak and the Swedish Pancakes. The portions are very generous, so come hungry! The Swedish pancakes were delicious, though they weren't exactly what I had imagined them to be. Still, the meal was solid comfort food. The restaurant has a great old-timey vibe that feels very nostalgic. Even with the Saturday rush, the service was fast and the servers were incredibly nice. I'll definitely be coming back!

Service was brisk for a busy Friday morning. Parking can be tight in the little lot but doable. Otherwise, side street parking is available. The food always comes out quickly. Always get the pancakes here, even if you are not hungry hahah

I took my mom here recently after she got some blood work done. It was pretty busy as usual (who doesn't come here), and we ordered coffee, and I got the banana pancakes. For this review specifically, I would have gone 5 stars, but the gentleman serving drinks gave us warm coffee, instead of freshly hot. He did fix the mistake, but it took almost 10-12 mins for him to notice us flagging him down for the issue to get fixed. I still really enjoy this place, and will continue to come back! Pancakes were solid, and I didn't leave a crumb.

Nice breakfast spot in Millbrae gives a small town feel. Your standard breakfast options (try the chocolate pancakes) with no frills service and is super busy during peak times. Relatively quick turn over and plenty of seating options for small and large groups...parking a plus!

Millbrae Pancake House has been a solid breakfast spot for me. I've tried multiple items on the menu and it's always consistently good. It's not one of those trendy, over-the-top breakfast places, but it's dependable and well executed. Today I tried the chicken fried steak and, like the other breakfast items I've had before, it delivered. The steak was crispy and the gravy was flavorful. I'm also a big fan of the Swedish pancakes with the lingonberry butter. They're light and really delicious.

Went here after flying into SFO early in the morning. We got seated quickly and the food came out very quick too. Food was just ok, nothing much really stood out. Omelettes and hash browns were decent, but the Swedish pancake (crepes) were meh. I was hoping for more flavor from the lingonberry butter but was disappointed (looks just like somebody threw lingonberries into the butter but it wasn't really blended or anything like that).

I have heard of this place and people hyping it up and decided to go. When going, if there is a line they will give you a ticket and call out the numbers for when your table is ready. The restaurant is spacious. The food was eh. I ordered pancakes that had bananas and added chocolate chips. The pancakes themselves were dry and just not what I expected. I ordered a side of sausage and they were cold.... Service was ok, could've been better. So no, this place is not it, but of course every person has their own judgement!

Living in San Francisco I have been fortunate to trying different cusines from around the world. I have enjoyed anything from the curated fancy rare cuisine to the hole in the wall place which serves international food and became a Michelin Guide restaurant. One thing I do enjoy is an All American breafast. The best All American breakfast places are usually found outside of San Francisco and are most likely in the middle of nowhere in the heart of America . There is a place has been serving one of the best all American breakfasts within a TMZ ( Twenty Mile Zone) of San Francisco. Here you will find classics like the Hawaiian waffle, The banana waffle, and the blueberry waffle which all comes with whip like some in SF. They also serve savory omelettes like the mushroom and cheese along with the chili and cheese omelette. They also serve breakfast all day. It is located in Millbrae and it is called the Millbrae Pancake House. Although Millbrae is known more for its great Asian cuisine you will find this American classic restaurant on El Camino Real. The Millbrae Pancake House has been serving great American breakfast since 1959. I ordered the half/half &eggs which came with hash brown, sausage and bacon. I also ordered a side biscuits and gravy which were savory and delicious. I then I had a short stack of buttermilk pancakes which were tasty and dripped in syrup and not too sweet. Lastly I had the strawberry waffle which was berry good and the waffle was flakey like some in SF. Come to the Millbrae Pancake House for a taste of America. Went to the Millbrae Pancake House and didn't have a long "wait"to get a table and ordered the half/half & egg "plate"came here for the buttermilk pancakes and that's what I also "ate" and the Millbrae Pancake House food had so much flavor it makes America taste so "great" So come on a stroll out of San Francisco and plan a "trip"to go to Millbrae where the pancakes are like Benson Boone made to "flip"and watch the pancake topped with melted butter and watch it get "whip" like some in SF and watch the syrup drop and "drip"

Breakfast with my favorite person! Nothing beats comfort food and hot cocoa at Millbrae Pancake House
    Liona L.

My fiancé and I are true breakfast connoisseurs and let's just say... if you have not had the pancakes at Millbrae Pancake House, you are seriously missing out! I grew up in San Bruno and my partner is from Hawaii, so for him to say these pancakes are better than Zippy's is honestly a miracle. Millbrae Pancake House reminds me of the good old days of being a kid and having breakfast with your family after Sunday church, celebrating life before starting a brand new week. The ambiance is authentic and comforting, and the food matches it perfectly. Simple, classic, but still sophisticated in its own way. There is truly nothing better than fresh, soft buttermilk pancakes made with love, paired with eggs, bacon, and sausage. And let's not forget the hot cocoa! Forever grateful for the mountain of whipped cream on top of that rich chocolatey goodness. Without the staff, there is no home. So thank you to the hosts, servers, cooks, and bussers for always being attentive to the little things because those small details are what make customers continue to return time and time again. Highly recommend!

A neighborhood classic! Perfect for a morning when you're craving traditional breakfast food and don't want to make it yourself. The inside is cozy and was packed with people. I always get a scramble but wanted to try their Eggs Benedict. The hollandaise sauce was delicious, although I would've preferred the muffins itself to not be soggy by the time I get it. The pancakes were a hit, of course, and warms the soul every time. Our party was seated in less than 30 mins on a busy Saturday morning. Parking was tough in the lot but there's plenty of street parking by the park.

Haven't been here in a few years, but everything still looks the same. Has a real old school diner feel. Service and food were great. Came on a Tuesday morning once it opened up at 7 and there was already a line of folks waiting as well. Got the supreme omelette which comes With your choice of toast or pancake I decided tog eat the butter milk pancakes. Also comes with hash browns which were very crispy. Pancakes were good, but the omelette was really good. Great spot for breakfast. Be careful coming early in the morning because it was freezing inside the diner.

The two thin pork chops were supposedly marinated, but I couldn't tell from tasting them. They were over cooked--dry, tough and needed some herbs.
