The huge wings are fried to a crunchy crisp (non-greasy) and tossed in a rich, tangy, and spicy sauce with a slight garlicky sweetness. They're so incredibly tender and succulent that juices oozed out of the wings as I took each bite! I'm spicy food lover, and the "Hot Spicy" was more like a mild medium to me. As you take a bite, you can feel a slight tingle of heat hit your palate, but it quickly dissapates after several seconds. The only drawback is once the wings start to cool, they absorb the hotsauce and loses its crispiness. So make sure to devour them piping hot! 2.5 STARS - My review is for the pre-packaged chicken only. During a recent visit to Kukje, I noticed they had Korean Fried Chicken! Since I'm a sucker for chicken wings, I had to try it! I ended up getting the Hot & sweet chicken ($7.99) which came with about 10 wings. Maybe I should have gotten the wings to order, since I wasn't impressed by these wings. They weren't crispy at all. Instead they were mushy and the coating was soggy. Probably from sitting under the heat lamp. I will give them another shot though since the other types of chicken also looked amazing! I feel like this place has gone a bit downhill over the years. It is now called "Only Chicken". We paid $27.90 ($30.34 after tax) for 24 pieces of "Original fried chicken mixed". However, the pieces are definitely smaller than what we've received here before (I'll post a picture). This ends up being over $1 per piece of chicken. The chicken tastes well, but I feel like it is overpriced. This price includes the $1 per sauce that you pay, which is pretty overpriced for sauce (the non-spicy version is just BBQ sauce). The customer service was also not on par with what we expected. My wife asked over the phone what they recommended. "How would I know that?" was the response. After we decided on what we wanted, she asked if this order would be enough to feed two adults and two young children. The response was "Again, how would you expect me to know that?". The owner and employees could use some training in customer service. It's fine to not know something, but your tone and the way you convey this to customers will leave an impression. A better way might be: "It's really hard to say exactly that because it depends on the customer's appetite and I don't want to mislead you, but usually this is enough to feed a family of 4". Me and my friends were looking for a place to eat when we visited Daly City. While looking through so many restaurants on Yelp, this restaurant was the one that caught my eye. We searched for it and it took us a while to find out that it was located in the market. They also sell sushi, bento box and much more! Each one of us ordered different flavored chickens and were satisfied to the max! Their little appetizers that they give in the beginning is also delicious! We would have ordered more of the appetizers but we were on a budget. As for the service, it was very fast and the servers were very nice. There was absolute no problem with customer service. Love me some KFC, Korean Fried Chicken! Located inside the Kukje supermarket now I don't have to go all the way to K-town Sunnyvale to get my fix. Shout to Cherylynn N for putting this on the map. Ordered their half and half chicken (honey and spicy),12 wings for $10 . Only Chicken is also only takeout! So after the 15-20 fried to order wait, they wrap your wings in plastic. So instead of having crispy and light wings, they ended up soggy from all the steam. Still good, they came with pickled daikon. The honey was more sticky than sweet and the spicy wasn't that spicy. Tasted like they used a wet batter before frying? Don't worry San Tung, you still got the best wings in the city. OMG the Soy Sauce wings! These are very badly named :D, but if you like sweet and rich sauces (like, what most places call Sesame Chicken), these are *fantastic*. The Hot & Sweet wings are almost as good. Note that this place is *inside* the Kukje Market. And that it smells terrible. And that you can only buy a minimum of 12 wings of any given flavour. I have been dying to try this chicken for months now and was finally able to put in a to-go order! We ordered two large orders of their original fried chicken (drums & wings combo) and the hot & sweet chicken (wings only). I forgot that you have choice of sauce for the OG chicken but forgot to ask which ones. They gave us a honey mustard one by default. These were by far some of the best wings I've ever had. Pretty good price, maintains a crispy exterior (even within 30min-1hr!), and good flavors. The OG chicken actually tastes pretty good on it's own, but better with sauce. The H&S is much tastier though. There is something satisfying about the caramelized sauce they coated it with. One of the most memorable details for me was the fact that the girl behind the counter was very patient with us, looked over our order, and found a better deal for us based on their packages. Much appreciated! Highly recommend. I will definitely be back to try more of their chicken! read more

I strolled into Kukje thinking I was only going to get some groceries to make my family some spicy tofu soup for dinner. Instead, I came out with a bag of groceries and 2 boxes of fried chicken wing goodness. I ordered 1 12 piece wings with garlic and parmesan and 1 12 pieces honey flavored wings. These were both good...but my family liked the honey flavored wings even better! Lightly battered and fried to a crisp, the chicken was still moist inside. The original fried chicken was moist and delicious with the honey mustard. The black bean noodles were also great. I'm definitely considering their catering but will need to plan accordingly. Fried chicken that's been out well get soggy and will have to be toasted. Service was ok, it was busy when I was there. The service button helps if you have it. read more

For my wife and I, this is our favorite place to get Korean fried chicken. Instead of ordering from the restaurant, we generally call ahead to pick up unless we're already at Kukje for grocery shopping. I find that an order of 12 pieces sufficient for two people. My go to order is 12 pieces of the original fried chicken wings with honey mustard sauce. When ordering in person or calling in to pick up, just know it takes about 20 minutes for your order to be ready. I would come back here in a heartbeat and wished they opened just a little bit later (like 9:30pm). read more

I love wings and korean food, so I was excited to give this place a try. It's located inside a grocery store so don't expect anything fancy. It does have a dinning area with tables. I came here with my boyfriend a couple of months ago (forgot to leave a review). We called in our order for pick up (only the younger guy speaks English). We only had to wait a few mins after the promised time. We got a dozen of the Hot & spicy sweet wings. It wasn't spicy, but we both loved it! It had a nice crisp to it, even though we ate it 30 mins later. The flavor was great. For the price, flavor and what you get, I would definitely say it's worth 4 stars. Other reviewers complained about service and what not, c'mon, it's inside a grocery store and ran by an old korean guy, what did you expect? My bf came back recently and ordered the same thing, but he said the sauce came on the side and didn't taste the same...miscommunication??? I'm definitely coming back for my wings! read more

The chicken here is finger licken good. It takes about 10-15 minutes for them to make it so I just walk around Kukje market and start browsing the home department where they have all their kitchen and bath stuff. I always order the hot sweet and sour boneless chicken. The price is pretty steep but it does come with a good amount of chicken and sauce. They also give you a little container of pickled daikon. I can freaking eat that stuff like candy. It's sooo good. My recommendation is to get some kim chi fried rice over at Bart Grocery to complete the meal. : ) read more

So I came upon this place since Bon Chon was closed on Tuesdays and I'm sure glad I found this place. I am a big fan of fried chicken; especially Asian fried chicken -notably Korean. I didn't know what to expect actually since I have only heard the name of this place and seen some photos on Yelp, but nothing much. Fingers crossed that it was good. So I came with a friend of mine to get some chicken, and to my surprise it was in the Kuje Super Market (Korean Supermarket) that I visit from time to time but have never noticed. It's just a small restaurant front inside the market. I ordered the original and the soy sauce variants offered. The price was alright in my opinion (12 pieces for $13). The soy sauce is a must. I am used to Korean fried chicken (KFC) from 99 Chicken and Bon Chon; however, this place def does fare well with those established restaurants. The chicken is medium to juicy for the meat, and they do give you dipping sauce for the regular fried chicken. I reckon the KFC would be great for parties, friend outings, with rice, and with drinks (beer, soju, etc.). There are also party trays you can buy in bulk, 25+ wings for regular fried or flavored. The somewhat downside I could find with this place is that there wasn't a place to eat. So this isn't a place you would go and sit down and eat (then again, it's a store inside a supermarket... would be much better to enjoy elsewhere). So you would have to take it home to enjoy -not to worry though since the fried chicken does stay crispy for awhile (the chicken was in the box for a good 25 min but still crispy, must be due to the store owner letting the chicken cool for a bit before closing the box... he def knows what he is doing with the fried chicken). I was so excited to walk into the super market and finally try the "Famous Fried Chicken".......We arrived at 11:30am on a Sunday... So disappointed.....No customer service form grumpy man behind counter.....first he purposely he made use wait almost by walking back and forth behind count doing nothing and just looked at us without saying a word....finally looked at us with a such a negative attitude.....we were afraid to ask a question.....we finally asked a question and he just did not give us an answer....finally a customer behind us answered our question. We ordered the 3 pcs. and 2 pcs. of Original Fried Chicken Legs at $5.99 per pound...Total was $14.02. I wish the fried Chicken could make up for the bad customer service....its was very dry and greasy as if they reheated the chicken in the oven from the night before...Better off going to Popeye's Chicken at least they are happy when you walk up to the counter. read more

Ok, finally tried it. Took a full 20 minutes. Maybe we ordered wrong. "Seasoned mild chicken wings" 50 pieces for almost $39. It was 'ok'~ not bad. Just not great and I probably expected too much. With that being said, I think it was over-rated, and over-priced and I doubt I'd order again. Plus the long wait meant I did some shopping and spent an extra $40 on groceries.
