This salon is a little hidden gem. Not many know of the talent that resides here, but once you stumble across it, you will be happy that you did. I have a long history with this salon as a client. If you are looking for a top notch cut and color, comparable to salons you would find along Maiden Lane in San Francisco, look no further. As someone who is also a soon to be cosmetologist, I am rather pickier than most when it comes to my hair. The atmosphere is rejuvenating and calm, I always leave feeling refreshed and at ease. Very personable service -- and efficient too! I called last minute and they squeezed me in for a lip wax. Barb was super nice and even called me when I was running late to make sure I wasn't lost. I plan on coming back and getting a facial with her! I got a peek of their new addition, focused on bridal services like hair and makeup. It will be a great place for brides and their wedding parties to come, enjoy refreshments and get dolled up and pampered for their big day. Came here for a last-minute, emergency wax (lip/chin)... never heard of it before (found it on my GPS). Not only were they able to take me last-minute, they were very professional, and the prices were super! The place was a tiny bit hard to find, only because it is in a converted house! But I saw they also have massages and other services. Be sure and ask for Barbara -- she's the main esthetician (however that's spelled). One other important note, for people who come for waxing: they use HONEY WAX here, which some people don't like. Actually, I'm not a big waxer, but I've preferred other experiences where they paint on the hot wax, seem to wait a mere second, then tear the hair off. Here, they paint on the wax, wait for it to cool and harden, and then yank off the hair. I think it might hurt more. Or, at least, you don't get the little break in between the pain. I prefer the other wax more. read more

Went here yesterday for a last-minute lip wax. I called and Barbara said to come right down, and she'd fit me in before her next appointment. What a welcoming, clean and lovely space to get waxed. As soon as I layed down I wanted to stay for more treatments. -Will definitely be back. The wax was the perfect temp, and I actually like the wax they use, which doesn't rely on paper strips. It seems like you get smoother results. (My esthetician in SF uses a similiar wax for my bikini line, so maybe I'm just used to it.). I will be back, maybe even for a haircut, as I'm still looking for a good stylist after moving to Sonoma a year ago from the city The have cute hair accessories too! I loved my experience at the Kristin Maze Salon. Jackie did my color, and she is so amazing! Its been forever since I've had a proper consultation, and she listened and explained my color options, and made sure to get it exactly how I wanted it. Ive been back a few times, and ever since Jackie has been doing my hair, I have gotten compliments, not only from friends and family, but from strangers! I have been going to KMS since the fall of 2018, and I can't say enough good things about this salon. Kristen and her staff are professional, kind, and welcoming. Hair washing and styling occur in a private room (it's been that way since I've been coming here), which makes for a very relaxing environment. I have received different smoothing treatments for my hair, have purchased outstanding hair products (NEVER any pressure to buy), and have bought wonderful brushes that minimize hair pulling. I have also tried and purchased make-up (also without pressure). Scheduling is on-point, with follow-up text reminders. Recently, I received a facial, and it was the most relaxing 90 minutes I've had in a long time. I look forward to my visits and highly recommend Kristin Maze Salon! read more

I took a chance based on the great yelp reviews and booked an appointment for a cut and color and was not disappointed. When I arrived at the salon I was greeted warmly and given a brief tour and the owner Kristin came out and introduced herself. Ericia who did my cut and color took asked me a lot of questions and then after deciding with me what to do with my color consulted with Kristin on the shade, etc. I couldn't be more pleased, I loved what Ericia did with both my color and cut and blow out.
