Yes, it is a little divey, but I like it !!! I have had a good experience every single time I've been here. The food is incredible, and incredibly priced. Hard to believe such a tiny kitchen can produce so much food from such an enormous menu. The soups are ALWAYS good too. The bartenders and cooks act like they are actually happy to be at work, unlike some surly servers I've experienced in The Cities. Good food is what happens when the management makes good decisions and the staff has a decent work ethic !! You are only a stranger once here. Everyone of the locals I have ever talked to here were anxious to hear about me, where I was from, and what I was doing in the area. There are some gaming machines, and lots of live entertainment. Not a place you want to go if you're in the LGBTQ+ community. A regular patron of the bar physically and verbally harassed me in front of staff and they simply looked the other way. There's also two urns on the bar shelf that I'm pretty certain is against health code. read more

10/17/2020 I was very disappointed arriving to pick up my take-out order, at Kro Bar. None of the staff were wearing masks, even while interacting, and mingling with mask-less customers. At this time and place in Wisconsin, I would find it hard to justify this practice. Offering to help carry my order out just added insult to injury. My co-workers said they probably have a hard right clientele, which would make the staff uncomfortable following the masking guidelines. Pizza was good. read more

The Kro bar is a nice little stop if you need a cold beer or a bite to eat. Don't ask what is good on the menu as the reply is "if it wasn't good it wouldn't be on the menu." With that I went with the daily special. The chicken Philly and fries which was really really good. Fresh hoagie bun and grilled chicken with peppers, onions, and cheese. If I could give this place zero stars I would. While the food is not completely unbearable, the service is. We went in on a Friday evening at 7:30pm for their "famous" fish fry. We decided we wanted to sit on the porch outside, so I went in and asked a waitress of there was service on the deck or if we would have to order at the bar, she said to go to the bar. After waiting for nearly 15 minutes the same waitress who knew we were waiting came to take our drink orders. We then waited for another 10 minutes while she entered them into the P.O.S. system before she came back for our food orders. Keep in mind we stood at the bar this entire time! It took another 90 minutes before we got to even smell any food, there were 3 other tables who had been waiting since before we arrived for their food. Once they where served, it took another 30 minutes for our 5 orders of fish to come out, and another 20 for a sausage and pepperoni pizza. On top of the wait, It was hands down the worst service I'd ever had. Every question to the wait staff was met with a snarky attitude and when I asked the owner about it all he had to say was "It's a small kitchen." This place is horrible I will never come back, and neither will anyone I was with. And they cut their pizza in squares... Heathens. read more

We stopped at the Kro-bar a couple times while we were ATVing in the Brule, WI area. This bar appeared to be popular with the locals. The first night that we stopped was for burgers and drinks. It also happened to be GB Packers football night, so all the locals were dressed in green and gold (Go Vikings!!!!!). The locals were friendly, and the food was good. We also stopped on our last day for breakfast, which was also very good. The bar has the usual pool table, juke box, and is a good place to watch the big game. They also have a larger open room attached to the bar that would be good for larger groups or parties. The morning that we stopped, a large group of elderly locals stopped in for breakfast. The bar also has a large outdoor patio/smoking area with a fire pit. This bar is located right on the main highway in town. They have a large parking lot area and if more parking is needed for larger vehicles or vehicles with trailers, there is a public parking lot across the road. This bar also has a small party bus available to rent for bachelor parties and other events. read more

I have to disagree with the previous poster. As knowing this bar from working there as a young adult and the owner , Viking fans are just as welcome as Packer Fans. Dean (the owner is a diehard Vik fan). You won't get mauled if your wearing purple, trust me. . . They have live band every Sat. night. The energey at the K.B. can go from one extreme to another depending on the crowd. Nov. durning hunting season it IS a favorite hangout for the hunters. The bar ratio is about 5 men to 1 woman from mid Nov. on! So if your looking to pick up a man dressed in blaze orange that hasn't shaved in a week they are all over! They have great daily specials, good Sun. Bloody Mary's (with shimp) and fair prices. The KB will always be a fav! read more

Will never go back. Cold, bad food, absolutely terrible service. Took almost two hours to get food. Place wasn't busy. Waitress was extremely rude. Never check in, cooks brought out the food and slammed it on the end of the table while cursing about having to do so. We left feedback with what seemed to be a manager or owner, only to be told basically to leave. The experience was appalling, and I wish I could give it zero stars. Stay away unless you have hours to wait and not get any service. read more

an isolated dive bar set deep in the woods near the Brule River in wisconsin. the Kro bar is like one of those places you see featured in a scary chop-her-head-off-and-bury-her-body-in-the-woods type movie. its dark, creaky and musty. it smells of.... well, i dont actually know what that smell was. the patrons that frequent this bar are serious fisherman who spent a long day on the Brule, or hardcore Packer fans with guns and hunting caps on.... was i intimidated? hell yes! if i hadn't walked in with 3 of my very big swedish male cousins i would've been way too scared to enter through its doors.... strangely enough, once you've clinked glasses and christened your first beer you've made a bar full of new friends already. extremely nice people once you get to know them... however, i would NOT advise vikings fans to come in here ever. i'm not even joking around. you won't make it out of those woods alive. read more
