This pertains to the pharmacy ONLY... I've attempted refills with this location for 3 months and have yet to not have had issues every time. I was with wal-mart for years and never had one issue. Today they called and wanted me to call my Dr. For a zero refill? That's not how it works, lol. Pharmacies contact the physicians. The grocery pick up service is AWFUL! I continue to use it because it is within a mile of my house, but EVERY SINGLE TIME I USE IT I'm either called or told when I arrive that my order isn't ready, even if I'm minutes away from my time slot expiring. This week I was told I needed to come back THE NEXT DAY because my order wasn't ready. Ridiculous! No other store does this and it's been like this for months. The staff needs to be retrained or there needs to be more people hired to pull groceries. read more

I've been shopping at this Kroger for 3 years, I don't even miss going to the Walmart in Roanoke. The prices are actually close to or cheaper than Walmart. The produce is much better than Walmart, the staff is helpful and friendly every time I go in at least 2 or 3 times they say hello. Sometimes the way things are marked is tricky and I would encourage reading the label on your item to find the price. At times I have to take the item to the cashier and ask for the price because it appears to be on sale but on occasion it's not. I once had a problem swiping my gift card at the gas pump.. Don't ever do that! It took a week to unfreeze the balance on my card!! But overall.. A very pleasant shopping experience and I love the fuel prices and points. read more

Yes, I am a fan of Kroger; let me be more specific I am a fan of the produce department, wow. I love how fresh everything looks; you can tell that the employees take pride in this department. I have to say that most every department except the meat department is stellar. Floral, bakery, deli, grocery, health and beauty all great selection and the shelves are stocked. Now for the fresh meat department, it's cramped and the meat just does not look appealing to me. I purchased a pork butt from this location and it was ok. I felt like they tricked me in how they packaged the meat as there was allot of hidden fat. I not sure about the point of their loyalty program as when I purchased over $100 the clerk says to me you saved $1.59. Big Deal! Maybe I need to do one of those price comparison shopping trips where you buy all the same things are Kroger, Tom Thumb, Albertsons and Walmart. Overall, I shop for produce here and for a few grocery items but that's about it. read more

If I could give raté the store 0 would be better was at this kroger store yesterday with my kids, scanned my kroger card left my car keys on the counter beside the cashier and tried to place my kid properly, only to get my keys back and found it missing on asking the cashier (Rayne) she denied several times seeing the keys but she had intentionally hidden it, she made me waste 30mins looking for the keys, i even went to the supervisor to ask but I was really sure I kept it beside the cashier while she was attending to me, how she thought I would believe the keys suddenly had legs to walk away was a mystery to me, she finally gave it another staff to give it to me when she noticed i wasn't ready to leave the store. Why wait almost 30mins before releasing the keys that was with you, what was her intentions? Be careful of your belongings when visiting the store. Worst meats EVER! Chicken thighs purchased were already rotten expiration date was three days away, returned it, received replacement, replacement was rotten by next a.m. In refrigerator. Bought skirt steak, there was more fat than meat. Called store to complain about beef, butcher thought it was funny. I guess Kroger doesn't care enough about quality. I have had two absolutely horrible experiences shopping at Kroger and it does not seem to get any better! Last week I found a live fly in a package of Vanilla Loaf Cake I picked up from their Bakery section. Luckily, the nasty fly caught my attention just as I was about to pay for my groceries at self check out. I called over the Employee and brought it to her attention and her attitude astonishing. She was extremely rude. Yes, she took the item off from my list but, she did not apologize or offer to possibly get another package- or anything! When I was leaving, she practically stood in my way and gave me a very disrespectful glare as if the fly was my fault and I had nerve for mentioning it!. Very Rude! This evening was no better! My son and I stopped in quickly to pick up a few items, when we were racially profiled! Not only did the employee come over the speaker requesting Security in the section we were shopping in but when we were at self check out, the Attendant raised the volume on the scanner I was at, to the point it was practically shouting at me and half the store for each item I rang up. These actions are not only unnecessary they are deplorable! Shame on you! If you wished for your customers to feel unwelcome, and discriminated against! Rude cashiers that absolutely hate to see anyone get in their line and it's not just the young teenagers. I had one of the rudest cashiers last week who was far from a teenager with a Russian accent ( I failed to get her name) if I was not in a hurry I would have spoke to the manager but why bother they do nothing. Most of the time I bag my own groceries and never see a manager on the front line or anywhere. This place is only financially successful due to location if another store opens maybe then they will improve. Also do not order a cake and expect to get what you ordered. I ordered my sons birthday cake and when I picked it up it was nothing what I ordered!!? I had no choice but to take it since it was the day of the party. Four months and they still haven't figured out how to manage through a pandemic. The grocery pick up curbside service is simply terrible. Like others thT have commented I've waited upwards of 40 minutes, had to come back the next day and once they failed to pull my order completely. I cannot remember the last time I had a decent experience here but today was the last straw... we are in a pandemic and being forced to wear masks but Kroger has no interest in doing their part to protect people. The station to wipe down your cart had trash all over it bc no one can bother to empty the trash can... and then as I am checking out the cashier, with no gloves, found it appropriate to reach inside my bag of lettuce and touch my lettuce to check for the code! Try to use the online order Service. We're told order will be ready at 5 PM. Received call at 4:30 PM that the order would not be ready at 7 PM. Arrived at 7 PM to wait another 45 minutes still with order. Found out that half the items we needed were out of stock??? Went to customer service to get a full refund. Less and less impressed every time I come here. Parking lot is always a mess with carts, produce is never stocked and we've tried coming various days and times to see if it improves, it doesn't. Then when we got up there to check out and that was a whole experience. There was two lights on but only one person at their register checking someone out. Then as we were able to be the next guest to check out apparently the other cashier was bagging for the woman who was at the one and didn't think to get on her on register when there was a line. Okay, I'll let it go, you're helping your co worker out. Our curtesy clerk gentle man just threw our items in the cart sloppy (I've been a bagger too, not how you do your job) and squished our bread. Then three of the employees came up to our cashier Alicia's register and proceed to vocalize their complaints about their raises they received and one gentleman in a Beanie saying he punched a wall and his buckles hurt because of how upset he was over his raise. I get it, you hate your pay and job but don't do it in front of a customer. I won't go back here. Sadly their meat department is great but everything else not impressed. read more

I cannot remember the last time I was in the store and saw the produce section more than 50% stocked. Ridiculous. Wanted to get some ham from the deli. Guy working the counter asked for some help from another employee. He happen to ask the guy I saw preparing something at another table. I had just see this guy talking to another employee and while doing so wiping his face off and scratching his head several times. He arrives at the lunch meat section puts on his gloves and asked if I needed help with something. (Do I tell this guy he is clueless bc he doesn't have sense enough to wash his hands?) I plead the 5th and went to grabbed ham from the Meat department. No managers in sight in the whole store. If they were visible they did a poor job of making themselves known. My pregnant wife used the bathroom by the Pharmacy and said his was filthy. Awful visit! read more

I feel like this store is steadily going down hill. They are often under stocked. There are way too many displays scattered throughout each aisle, making it difficult to navigate if there are more than two people on that aisle (and reminds me of shopping in a cluttered and unorganized Dollar General). The last two times I've been here, the grocery bagger and the cashier have been complaining about coworker(s) right in front of me. Not everyone who works here is terrible. There are quite a few wonderful people working here that are always super friendly and very helpful. read more

I come here all the time in the afternoons, excellent service! My drink is made by a young lady named Savannah, & a young gentlemen I can't remember his name but he looks oriental, possibly Vietnamese. I been going in the mornings a bit more often and I am handled by "Carrie" I asked her a question about the menu, she is extremely disrespectful she rolled her eyes continuously as I asked a question. I asked for a green tea Frappuccino without whip cream, she puts whip cream on it, not only that but I found HER hair in my drink. When I kindly kept my patience I asked if she could remake it, she said " you will have to purchase it again" NEVER going in the mornings ever again. This Kroger is like my 2nd home! They have anything I need, and their staff is so incredibly friendly. I love the fact that you can download digital coupons from the app and use your fuel points to save on gas. There is also a Starbucks at this location, and that's ALWAYS a plus!!! After waiting in line to check out for about 8 minutes the bagger in my aisle strung a plastic cord to close the lane. I usually go to the Kroger on camp Bowie, but my doctor sent my prescription to this Kroger on north beach St. This Kroger is also really nice! It's way bigger than the one on camp Bowie though. I also didn't realize they had a drive thru pharmacy. But I went into the store and I didn't have to wait more than about 30 seconds till I was called up after the last customer. The staff was friendly and I was in and out in less than 2 minutes. I only wish I lived closer to this Kroger Lol. read more

My daughter (almost 4) calls this Kroger "Her Store," it's like our second home and we love it. From the floral department, Starbucks employees, butchers and check out staff we've been pleasantly surprised with the level of customer service. My husband told me that our daughter once lost her balloon while waiting at the butcher and before they left that area someone had come to them with a replacement. The produce and meats are always fresh and the shelves are rarely ever out of stock of anything. We were highly impressed at Halloween when the store manager was out on the floor, in costume, passing out candies for the kids. We enjoy the fuel points as well, I think I filled up for $1.19 recently, where else do you see that these days? There may be a few cheaper competitors nearby but for the overall atmosphere none can beat and that's why Kroger will have our continued support. read more

Latest bad experience at this Kroger happened last night. The produce bins were mostly empty but since I usually buy organic and apparently most do not, I was able to get most of what I needed. The rotisserie chickens were gone at 7:30. I asked the person at the meat counter if they had any left in the back, they did not. I was told, only after asking, that they are put out at 1:00 pm and 6:00 pm, so apparently there was a run on them last night! Got to the check out line, number 9, Steven was the checker, cannot remember the bagger's name. When the bagger walked up he stated, "I'm really fast" and proceeded to very quickly slam my groceries into the bag. I told him I prefer he go slowly and carefully, to which Steven replied, Oh, don't worry, you're in good hands. The pace barely slowed down, he put my apples on the bottom of the cart underneath many bags of frozen foods, and then proudly announced he placed my bread on the top of my cart. Apparently he didn't notice that the bread was frozen and he dropped it on my chips! Since the store was practically deserted of staff, I decided not to spend more time hunting down the store manager and called on the way home. I spoke with Kristy, who was barely civil and had a smart ass tone to her voice. I explained what happened and told her I would be back if any of my groceries were damaged, to which she replied that she would gladly refund/replace and give me a coupon (with a sarcastic tone). I explained my time was more valuable than getting a coupon and that I prefer not to have to come back because a store employee was careless. I also added that the bagger really needed some training. About that time I heard a big sigh. Sure enough, one of my apples was bruised and while it might seem petty, I just returned it to customer service in exchange for another apple. The sullen kid at customer service with his long hair hanging over one eye, was busy looking at his watch while I was explaining why I was there. He couldn't have cared less, didn't look at my receipt until I held it up in front of his face, and grabbed the new apple to keep rather than the one I brought back. Clearly he wasn't listening. There seems to be an overall problem with this Kroger employing young, smart ass, careless employees who are not trained, act as though they could not care less about being there and certainly aren't interested in helping you. I've since talked to a couple of people who shop there and they tell me they've complained to management about the very same experience I had last night. Kroger is not the only grocery store in town and although I refuse to go to the Wal Mart in Roanoke, I'm going to give the new Winco a try, will buy my bulk items at Costco and drive to Sprouts for my organic needs. read more

I use to like this Kroger, but I can honestly say customer service has gone down hill (I once rated this Kroger with 5*, but not anymore). No one offers to help you find anything, they just walk right on by and say nothing. Heaven forbid you forget your receipt and need to rerun something, they treat you like a criminal. I hardly shop in here anymore...I would rather drive 15-20 min away and do my shopping than deal with poor attitudes. read more

We have shopped at this store since it was new, but it has steadily gone down hill over the past 18 months. Their produce often looks picked over. Stock shelves often are often disorganized and kind of bare. They seem to always be out of stock of the size A/C filters I need, especially on the lower priced ones. It's like no one is in charge of the A/C filters. More and more, we are having to go to the nearby Albertson's to get what we need. Recently, I spoke with a store manager who told me she was aware of the problems, and that they were challenged in almost areas, especially personnel. I sent a comment to this effect online, but never got a response. It's almost like Kroger has given up on this store. It's the most convenient and I'd rather shop here, but I can't justify having to go to both Kroger and Albertson's to get what we need. If they can't get a handle on this situation soon, we are shopping elsewhere. read more

This location is getting to be ridiculous. For months, my husband and I have noticed various items being out of stock. I'm not sure why they're not on top of their inventory, but it needs to improve, a lot. They also have a decent selection of salads but are on the shelf past the expiration date. It's unacceptable. The next closest Kroger is Heritage trace but probably worth the time. Who needs to be contacted with this issue? It's getting very frustrating. read more

I have tried this store many times, thinking it may get better or have a good experience. Wrong! There are price signs missing in multiple products. So you have no clue how much it is. Or if it is on sale that week it does not have a sale sign on it. Than you think you have made it, but the worst part is checkout! Self checkout lane, express lane and ONE regular lane open. As I have a full cart it is more realistic convenient to go in regular lane. But it more than always has many people waiting. I have asked the cashier if she can get more help, she always looks stunned and says there is nobody. Really!!??? I have seen many workers here that are standing around and chatting! All the workers should have cashier experience so they can help out when needed!! I have worked at a grocery store and retail that were managed great! They made sure everyone knew how to check out customers when in need. Management needs to be more aware of these issues and fix them. I am so close to this store I could walk. However, I've gone on different days of the week and are out of stock a lot, on the shelves, produce, meat, dairy. Today was the final straw. I am in produce, the things I wanted was wrinkled, withered produce. I look over and no one was waiting at the deli. We walk up and 3 employees are having a fun conversation. They don't even acknowledge us. They continue talking, finally I would say after a few minutes standing listening to their conversation, the one lady takes our order. Then she goes back to talking and starts cleaning. 5 or more minutes have past and still hasn't even started slicing. As she is still having her conversation, I tell them cancel my order. This to me isn't acceptable treatment to a customer. 1. If you don't have customers and your talking, you could have cleaned so you can help a customer when it's time. 2. Why are 3 of you having a conversation and ignoring customers? No eggs, no lactose free milk, air filter and frozen items I went for were ALL out of stock. So yeah I will travel farther to find a better store. read more
