This store is the closest, convenient grocery store in the area and, because of that it, it relatively always pretty busy. The staff is friendly and they try and they do a good job in keeping the store tidy. I visited over the weekend and the store manager was actually assisting in replacing toilet paper, because the shipment had just arrived and the shelves were bare. The Kroger card definitely gets you great pricing on many things you use everyday. I would suggest more self checkout lanes on both sides of the store. read more

I just had the worst experience of my life at the store off of Westheimer and the Westpark Tollway. I went in for some flowers for my Mother-in-Law's gravesite for Mother's Day. I expected the store to be picked over, but they are gravesite flowers, so I didn't need anything extravagant. Luckily, her favorite flower was carnation, so I thought it might be somewhat easier. I went in and found 95% of all the flowers gone. I did see two people waiting in line being attended to by two women behind the counter, making arrangements for them. I thought I'd double check and see if they could help me. While I was waiting, I was four small lillies that I thought if they did t have anything else, maybe they could at least wrap these up nicer for me. They gave one gentlemen two arrangements and the other man one. Was finally approached by the woman that I was assumed was the manager, as she was wearing a red blazer and "looked" more professional. She asked me what i was waiting for and I asked if they had any carnations, and she abruptly answered "no" and moved on to the next person. I said, "Ma'am, do you have anything left?" She said, "No. those flowers are for an arrangement I'm doing for other customers." Shocked, I exited the floral department to make an additional purchase. Irritated, I went to customer service to let them know what had happened and how rule the floral department was. She answered the phone in the middle of my comment without even saying "excuse me" or "one moment." I then went back to the floral department and asked them to please wrap up the lillies and another very dead bunch of flowers I had found. At which point, I was HANDED two purple sheets of tissue paper. Every year going shopping for these flowers is hard! And to be treated like that in what is my Mother's Day is abhorrent. Very upset with Kroger and wasn't willing to stay two more minutes to get my kids drinks and snacks. read more

I like this Kroger. Mostly because it is the closest grocery store to my house. I always find what I need and the store is well kept. But, sometimes it is hard to have someone be willing to help you find something. Shelf stockers tend to ignore you. Also, I saw one of the bakery people grab Hawaiian rolls and open them and start eating them behind the bakery counter. Why is that necessary? Feel free to eat the store food it's not my problem but I don't want to see that. They always have good sales and the checkout clerks are extremely friendly. They always test their produce knowledge with me and never complain about it. :) read more

I waited until I had been here twice before I left a review. My first trip was lackluster. There was little product out and I had to ask for more than two things. I did get them. My second trip was the opposite. Shelves were stocked and everything I wanted I found with ease. For both trips, the staff was helpful and friendly. I'll be back. read more

So this Kroger is only good if you're around the area and need to do a quick trip. I typically find myself here between the hours if 9 to 11 pm biweekly. The staff isn't that happy to be there though. Most of the people by the self check out area don't seem too eager to help and the sad faces they usually have, would make you believe that their puppies have died. This is the closet Kroger to my house. Layout - 4/5 Generally, like all Krogers, it follows a certain floor plan. Things are easy to find. Bakery is on the left and personal toiletries and medicine is on the right along with pharmacy. Customer Service - 5/5 Excellent and kind people ready to help. Queue for Checking Out - 4/5 You always find enough people to help you check out or use the self check out. Quality & Quantity of Produce - 3.8/5 Generally satisfactory but I feel that this store has a slightly smaller selection of produce and fresh fruits. Their organic section is also smaller than competing stores - HEB. The only thing I have a problem with is the parking lay out. It's hard to get in and out during traffic hours as both Westheimer and 1464 (O'Brian) are jammed and it can be a challenge to get in and out. Also, many people cut from the Kroger parking lot onto Westpark service road by the pharmacy drive through and it puts more strain on cars that are trying turn onto Westpark service road from the normal exit. read more

Justin Nguyen answered the phone when I called the pharmacy to confirm the price of my medication. I asked him to run the prescription under a discount card that I had on my profile. Justin refused and blindly stated that since I have insurance, the price would be better than any discount card. I had to explain to Justin that I've done this before and that I also work for Kroger, he still hesitated. Justin only checked on one discount card and schooled me that my insurance had the better price. I had to literally begged him to try a different card to finally get the correct one with a decent price. Actually, I doubted that Justin really checked all my discount cards to provide me with the best price, I was tired of begging him to help me out (even tough it was only at a push of a button since the cards were on my profile). When I came to pick up my script,it was also Justin Nguyen who helped me at drive through. The whole transaction was terrible. There was no hi/hello. I was served with silence (beside verifying for name, DOB) along with a face that lacks of empathy and care. *smh* read more

I had a terrible experience today checking out at this location. I was very confused and didn't understand what was going on until I was back in my car. I was treated as if I was stealing today at the check outline. It was not discreet at all, so I feel too embarrassed to return to the store, as I was made to look like a suspected thief. I also hate to go out of my way because I may not be treated respectfully at this location. I am a new mom, and learning how to get around with a 4 month infant has been a learning experience. He is double his weight (16lbs) and so it's easier most times to utilize his stroller system while picking up groceries than to carry him, since he is not able to sit in the basket. A sales associate asked if I needed help with anything, but I didn't think he asked because he thought I was trying to steal the cheese I placed in my basket. I thought he genuinely was trying to offer good customer service. Wrong. Silly me. I guess he just thought I was some thief walking around with a stroller basket full of fruits and veggies??!?? It gets better. I wait in line to check out, and an associate or manager? Comes out and strongly insist that I check out using the self check out booth, even after I told him multiple times I was okay waiting in line for the cashier. It's easier to have someone ring and bag my things with baby. Being pulled from the line unwilling was the beginning of my confusion. Then he begins to ring my groceries strange, setting some items aside and bagging the others. I asked him why he wasn't bagging all of my groceries, and he didn't even reply to me. He turned to another associate and told him that some kids put their knee on the scale to trick the machine! Still very confused by his response because I am not a child... I am a grown woman... I am a wife and a mother. The other associate assisting him asked me if the spaghetti squash belonged to me!!! I said YES it does??? So confused!? Did he think the food he took out my basket was not mine to check out!? I proceeded to pay and left feeling very confused as I have not ever been singled out and questioned if I am steeling spaghetti squash. Terrible. I am not a thief. I hope they feel as stupid as the thought of stealing parsley. read more

This place is going down hill fast. I literally hate going to this store but it's right next to my house so it's only out of sheer convenience. Once the new HEB opens up off Harlem I'll stop going here all together, even though that will be about a 10 minute drive down the road over my current 1 minute trip to Kroger. Where do I start, I drink the beer Stella and even after 3+ occasions of telling management they still can't seem to have it on the shelf when I'm in the store, which is about 4-5 times a week. It's laughable that the convenience store two blocks down ALWAYS has Stella in stock (not a common beer for convenience stores to carry), yet the grocery store never has it. The produce is always pretty inconsistent and the meat/seafood counter doesn't really have that great of quality meat all of the time. Two weeks ago I was trying to get some deli meat and the guy who is there at night (I believe he's in charge) was near the hot items and there was a younger girl that was sweeping the floor...after about literally 3 minutes of standing there and not even an acknowledgement from the girl I look at the guy and ask if anyone is going to help me. She looks at him and they both just start chuckling, so at that point I'm like F this I'm out. No one wants to do their job I guess? In the past few weeks I've had to walk back out of the store twice to go get my own basket from the parking lot since there was not a single basket available and no one was even collecting them outside. I was able to complete my shopping trip and still have time to snap this picture in my way out of the store. Ridiculous!!!! I have been here a few time between 9-11pm to buy iTunes gift card. The staffs who were working at night shift over here seemed like they lost their beloved one or something. All the customers were around and were doing self-checkout, I was checking the iTunes card by myself also. Then the staff saw me holding the iTunes card and she came close to me, she said "you can't do it at the register, it has to be done at customer service but it was closed". I told her I've been done this thing 2 days ago ma'am. She was like "no 2 days ago, no no". What the freak? This Kroger needs to fire these staffs, it is so unprofessional. read more

I have just had the worst experience at Kroger. I have been shopping at Kroger for years but never been to this one. I approached the Kroger at 10:54 and witnessed the workers let someone (non black) go in front of me and as I tried to enter the workers at the front argued with me that they close the doors 5 minutes before in order to turn on the alarms which I never heard of before. Aaron then approached me and told me that he's sorry I find it hard to understand that they are closed. As I walked away Aaron then proceeded to curse me out. I turned around to take a picture of him and I took a video of him and all the other workers that thought it was a good idea to laugh at me as I walked away. Once again never experienced this type of service at any store, let alone a Kroger. Just to grab one thing. I throughly embarrassed and disappointed that this type of behavior is condoned at Kroger. Aaron actually called me a "bitch" and something else I'm not sure but I saw the other workers hysterically laughing so I can only imagine what else he said. Some reviews have complained about the staff. I can tell you that I make a point to go to the store during the day time. That is when the best staff is working. I have only had a few that seem to just be "getting through their work day". I have two very active boys and the staff has been so nice to them also. I spent time overseas in a country where employees at stores were so polite and helpful, even when they could not understand what we said :) I purposely shop here instead of Walmart or Target because of the friendly staff. This is MY store and so thankful I live close to it. read more

This Kroger is really close to my house. I really liked their pharmacy section and their cashiers. The only thing that didn't get them the five stars is the fruits. The fruits and vegetables section is always messy. They don't look fresh for some reason. Besides that, everything is good. read more

This is a horrible grocery store. The employees are totally ignorant and rude. Their new digital coupon system is a joke. They have tags that say there is a digital coupon for an item but it is not in their system. Employees are clueless about the digital coupons. Only 1 day a week can you find the shelves stocked. Been at this location forever and the setup is pretty consistent with what you would expect out of a Kroger. you get what you need and the aisles are really easy to understand as far as organization. The people here are generally nice and the deli always has fresh meat and cheese and they're pretty good about cutting it exactly the way you want it. The produce is consistently great and I've had zero issues with anything I've gotten from here. Over the years, there has been some commercial development in the are so the location for the store is strategically better than 15 years ago when it was there. Prices are comparable to anywhere you would go but expect to get a little better quality that what you pay for at, say, a Walmart. Overall, a great store. read more

This is my backup to HEB and a convenient stop on my way home from work. They don't carry a lot of the things I like and the customer service leaves a lot to be desired, but they always have really fresh produce and good deals on both produce and meats. The staff is pretty nice but since a new manager has taken over this place is really going down hill. He no longer marks down the roasted chickens at 9pm they refrigerate them and sell them full price the next day,we've gotten sick twice from them,they constantly run out of sale items and never restock until the sale is over this sometimes takes months and it's the same on the natural foods isle if something is out of stock it takes forever to restock,we still go here for only a few items, now we do the rest of our shopping at the La Michoacana down the street. read more

I've never had any problems with this Kroger, every time I've been before everyone has been nice & friendly. Except today they had a very mean & rude lady at the deli. First, she threw the bag of my ham rudely over the counter. After that, I had asked her for 5 slices of cheese & she told me if I just wanted 5 to just go get it where they have the packed ones, again in a very rude tone! I told I wanted them from the cheese that I was asking her for , they don't sell it pre packed. She obviously had no choice but to give it to me, as she's slicing my cheese SHE ANSWERS her phone!! & starts talking & yapping in another language. Finally she packs my stuff & then again , rudely throws it over the counter to me as she continues being on the phone. I agree we all have bad days, but if you can't change your attitude to work your job were you need to atleast be a little friendly , then don't work where your customer service skills will be needed!!!! This is the worst experience i have ever had at a grocery store. ....checked out and cashier didn't give me one of my bags which had my main coarse. Went back to store and went to customer service and was greeted by a bitter staff member and when i explained my situation was told "i dont know wherenit is, so pick out whatever you were missing" i explained that i was missing my steak and she said " i dont know whrre your steak is and dont know what you want me to do" i told her i dont appreciate the attitude and would like to speak with a supervisor " she then paged a supervisor which made me wait 10 minutes before responding and stated he wss outside and didnt know. He then asked me what the problem was and what he could donto fix it? I explained the attitude that was given to me and the lack of service fiven and he atated again what would you like me to do? As a patron i asked him what do you think you should do to fix my problem....he said ia listening to you but your arent telling me what you want....what i want is you to think for yourself and decide what to do! Again my response was " if you were me and spending your money wht would you expect? " he then explained that i could get whatever i want plus a refund, which was processed and left on the counter for me to get and with no apology. ....is this how you do business? I then called kroger corporate and was asked for and address which i didnt have because they kept my receipt and was put on hold for 10 minutes only to be told that they would contact the store and investigate. ....then i was hung up on and had no follow up call to make sure i was taken care of....obviously they dont care about customers and just want your money! This location has a great selection, but the staff is so rude!! The manager is very unprofessional. The lady Leann T is horrible, she has the worst attitude and when you try to tell her she is doing something wrong she will just look at you like you in fact are wrong. She doesn't seem to be able to work the simple register and is very slow. I will be calling in to cooperate about this location hopefully they will learn to train the staff there and teach them how to be respectful! read more
