Something between Denis and the bank got misconstrued because the bank was trying to run my credit 30 seconds into the call. After calling Denis back, we agrees to have me come in Friday, March 19th when I got off work. I arrived, was met by James. James was a very nice guy, listened to all of my concerns and answered all of my questions to the best of my ability. I let him know I was willing to work on the unmovable price if they addressed my concerns on the truck. I pointed out a leak and moisture collecting in the taillights. James assured me he would speak to Denis and get back to me Saturday or Monday. Saturday, nothing. Halfway through Monday, nothing. I texted Denis at 12:06 on Tuesday, the 23rd, then called and got his voicemail. I called the dealership, was transferred and he answered right away. His happy greeting quickly changed. He told me that him and James had not spoken so I relayed my findings to him, he said he will have a mechanic look at it and call me back in 20 minutes or so with some sort of update. I texted him again at 3:30 Tuesday to ask when I might expect to hear from him again in regards to the truck. I was told "hopefully sometime tomorrow morning" I texted Denis again Wednesday, 24th at 11:54 asking if he had heard anything. He calls back and says yes, the leak I had spotted was an oil gasket which was replaced but the truck had sold in the meantime. The communication here sucks. I feel like I was being avoided because if I got the luxury of a response, it was days or hours and hours later unless I called the dealership and was transferred directly.

I was told that the service records unfortunately weren't immediately available and would take about three days to obtain. That's understandable. What I found strange was that, while I was waiting for the records, I was asked to put down a deposit to hold the car. I explained that I could provide the deposit by credit card, but only if it were refundable. I was then told that the deposit would be non-refundable and that this was not his decision--it was the owner's policy. The owner, however, was apparently unavailable. I was also told that someone local was supposedly coming in to purchase the car, creating additional pressure for me to put down a deposit immediately. Again, I was told that this was the owner's requirement and not the salesperson's decision. The whole situation felt unnecessarily complicated and, frankly, very strange. I have no problem with a dealership having a deposit policy, but the way this was presented--especially while the service records were still unavailable--did not give me confidence. Ultimately, I decided not to move forward. I would be very cautious about doing business with a company that handles a potential sale this way. There are plenty of dealerships where the process can be straightforward and transparent, and this was not that experience

Before scheduling a brake-fluid flush, I called the dealership and was quoted a price in the low $200s. Based on that quote, I drove more than an hour from Bothell for the appointment. After I arrived, service advisor Liam told me the service would cost more than $400 because my Sienna is a hybrid. The dealership had access to my vehicle information when it provided the original quote, so I do not understand why the correct price was not given before I made the trip. After I objected, the dealership honored the original quoted price but described it as a "courtesy." Honoring the price I was quoted should not have been treated as a special favor after I relied on it when scheduling the service. The service manager was unavailable when I tried to address the issue, and my subsequent attempt to contact the dealership by email was unsuccessful. The dealership ultimately performed the service for the original quoted amount, but the attempt to more than double the price after I arrived significantly damaged my trust. Customers should be able to rely on a service quote--especially when the dealership already has the vehicle's information. Based on this experience, I would not return to Toyota of Puyallup for service.

My BF did some convincing for a few months before I started looking into used car dealerships. That's when I found Matthew Motors! Never once did I feel the pressure from them the entire time I was there. They just gave us the key to the 4runner we saw online and all the time we needed with the car. We tested the car as best as we could before finalizing the paperwork. I still remember before signing the papers, I asked what happens if there's something wrong with the car as I noticed the car was sold "as is" on the paperwork. They said to just give them a call and talk to them "after all, they are not in the market to sell defective cars". Fair enough. That same day, I drove 4runner around and my worst nightmare came true. THE. HORN. DIDN'T. WORK. Of course, I tested every button in the car BUT the horn *facepalm*. I immediately called them then took the car back the next day so they can have a look at it. Long story short, I had to take it to Toyota to get it diagnosed since they couldn't figure out what was going on. Toyota charged us over $500 just to DIAGNOSE what was going on and when I got the car back, two panels were missing, the cruise control and none of the buttons on the steering wheel worked. They insisted the issue was the spiral cable needs to be replaced which also caused the horn to fail.....alright(*eye-roll*) I took the car back to Matthew's Motor, gave them the diagnosis that Toyota gave me, then Jacob and Levi got to work. Not only did they get the horn working again, but they were also able to get the buttons on my steering wheel plus the cruise control working again(which apparently Toyota didn't plug my car back). Jacob and Levi, if you're reading this, I just want to say "THANK YOU SO MUCH!!" PLUS, the entire time I left my car there, Brian was extremely responsive to text and kept me updated with the status of my car at all times. I will recommend this dealership to all my friends and family and anyone I ever talk to around the Seattle area who is looking for a used car. They are an honest business, will do everything to make things right even though they contractually didn't have to. This incident reinforces my previous review, where I had expressed my disappointment with the lack of attention and care he had shown during our transaction. They assured me that someone would call us back to discuss our options, but I refuse to pay for someone else's mistake. As the weekend got closer and then lights hadnt come in yet, she and her husband Craig offered to come to my house in Tacoma to change them for me over the weekend. After installing the bulbs it became clear that it was the switch and not the bulbs. Craig came to my house a couple of days later, picked up my car, fixed the switch AND filled my tank! I am so happy I decided to buy from Roosales, their customer service was above and beyond. VERY satisfied customer!

I had a worst experience with this dealership…read more I understand that an initial trade-in estimate is not a final offer, and I knew the value could change after the vehicle was inspected. However, I made the long drive to the dealership because I reasonably expected the final offer to be somewhere close to the estimate I was given. After arriving, I waited for over 90 minutes, only to receive an offer that was about 35% lower than what I had been told. When I questioned the huge difference, the salesperson immediately admitted that he had mixed up my information with another customer's. There wasn't even a moment of hesitation. What bothers me most isn't that a mistake was made--everyone makes mistakes. It's that the mistake was never corrected before I made the trip. If my information had already been mixed up, why wasn't I contacted before I drove all the way to the dealership and spent over an hour and a half waiting? To make matters worse, there was no sincere apology or acknowledgment that my time had been wasted. I understand that this is a large dealership and you probably have no shortage of customers, but customers also have choices. I wasn't asking anyone to do me a favor--I came because I relied on the information your staff provided. This is not the level of professionalism, communication, or respect for a customer's time that I would expect from a Toyota dealership. I hope the dealership improves its internal communication and treats future customers with the honesty and respect they deserve.
