If I could give a lower rating I would . KT is a nice guy and all but the work his staff does is highly unprofessional and it seems the workers are not actually trained to work on Apple I Phones although the company advertise they do . I went in for a repair for a broken screen ORIGINALLY. An hour and a half later after I dropped the phone off the first time everything seemed top notch and like I was good to go . A few days later the phone started acting funny and the sensors on one portion of my screen would not register the touch . I reported the issue to these guys and they said no problem bring it in so I did and thank fully they fixed it . However that's not where it ended and that was not the only issue I have had with them . After the first experience I decided to trust them to fix my phone charging port because that too stopped working however I paid for that one because I caused it to stop working . After the repair I took the phone home thinking I would have no issues and everting was good . Wrong it was not ! The port did not even work . I tried on multiple cords to check that wasn't the issue and that did not work either . Now I have to call back to the company to report the issue and I get the manager . He tells me to bring it in and he will check it . When I get to the store the manager immediately plugs it in and gets it to charge somehow for like two seconds and quickly unplugged it and and told me it was fine . At this point I am completely frustrated that he is trying to basically force me out with his faulty product and work still inside and not working properly . The owner tried to get me to leave without getting the issue fixed hoping it would work long enough to be outside of warranty repairs . After the owner KT told me the phone was working fine I told him I know that it's not good and I asked him to try it again . On the second time when he plugged the phone in it did not work . He tried multiple times with different cords as well and it did not work . The owner did everything he could to get me to take my phone without him fixing the problem he caused . After all his attempts failed the owner finally agreed to change the malfunctioning charging port . After about 45 minutes of waiting now I am able to take the phone back home and it works as it should . That was until I know found that the Apple Pay scanner inside the phone now does not register at stores when I tried to use it . I'll admit it I waited longer than the three months to report the issue to the owner because I forgot as time passed by and because I honestly rarely use the apple pay feature ( although that's besides the point ) . When I called back to report the issue to the owner over the phone he denied it even being possible that they messed up the Apple Pay . I went in to the store and when I discussed the past problems we had and why I thought it was only fair that the company repair it since it worked before they touched the phone the owner denied to touch the phone and said I should take it to Apple care because it may be a software issue . KT electronics is by far the most unprofessional company and untrustworthy company out there . Don't let there low prices fool you because you will get what you pay for . read more

I call them the next day, they tell me everything work just memory RAM need to reseat, i took it home desktop still have no video signal, turn out the HDMI port is bad so it mean i got scam for $50. WATCH OUT and THINK TWICE! They will waste you more than 2 weeks and told you they can't fix it at all. BUT they will still charge you $50 for the 'efforts' they put(wasted you). Considering they could not root cause the problem in short time, looks like this is their own way to make money. Oh! And you have the bonus that one rude guy will shout at you and ask for the money. The service and time wasted just don't even deserve your attention. So consider those before you go, 1. Service turnaround time is sooooo slow. 2. Risk at losing money even nothing got fixed 3. The guy at front desk has very bad attitude, never seen such rude service man. Update 5/11: After taking back my laptop, I sent it to Apple Store, they only took '2 days' to replace the whole logic board for $475. And 90 days warranty on the whole laptop. I really should do this at the beginning, instead of visiting KT. What did KT say on my laptop? 1. 1st time visit to store, they charged me $50 and $249 for just repairing the logic board, not 'replace' it. 2. After waiting for one week, (they never gave me update unless I called them to push), they said they already fixed the logic board issue (LIAR!) but they have to charge me another $149 for replacing the battery as well. At that time, they still had my trust, so I said 'fine, go ahead'. 3. Another week waiting, they called me and said they could not repair it but they can replace the whole logic board for $1100. So Glad now that I said STOP and took my laptop back. What they can do is only to push you to pay more to replace more the components (even it's working well), AND they don't feel shameful to charge you even they did nothing to resolve your issues. There are many professional and honest technicians who can provide $0 diagnosis before jumping into the repair, why do you want to waste your money and time here? For all the customers who care about result not the 'efforts', this is high risk to consider when choose KT Electronics. Go to some other place who can really help, but definitely not KT. read more

I had spilt beer on my MacBook Air. I paid for a Rush service and my laptop was finished in less than 24 hours--I did not want to wait, so the $40 fee was worth it! I assumed it was the logic board that had been compromised and it was only $149. Honestly, the price was beyond reasonable, and the service was quick, and friendly. I am giving this feedback for their approach and attitude (not for the actual repair service yet) When I was searching yelp for a good repair shop to fix my vintage reel to reel machine I saw there was an option to request a quote from the businesses. So, I emailed to a few shops describing my problem and asking for repair estimate. That was Sunday evening when all those businesses are closed. Guess what, mr. Khuong from KT electronic responded within 20 minutes on Sunday night! I did not expect it. You may say - not a big deal. Well, to me it is. Read the negative reviews first for this place before making your decision to give them business. This is really a general rule of thumb for any business transaction anywhere. If you do decide to do business with them, just make sure you get everything in writing and save/write down every conversation with them from phone calls, texts, emails, dates, visits, AND names. Firmly request that they contact you first to ask for your permission to move forward with different solutions during the progress of troubleshooting your device. That means they need to contact you for your permission as the main point-of-contact and not your mom or friend. Make sure that it is transparent of what charges may incur for whatever reason and do so in advance. Do not just rely on them to give you a copy of the work progress summaries. These proactive measures will come in handy. I'm not saying not to go to them for business as you can see that there are other people who did have good experiences. However, the added reservation will be to your benefit and will save you money, time, and years from your life. read more

My husband and older son was having difficulty getting their 5 year old PlayStation to start and before we bought a new one (which we really didn't want to do because we're waiting for PS5 to come out in NOV..woot..wooot) we decided to give KT Electronics a try. I came in to get my Pikachu new 2ds xl top screen fixed. They originally quoted me $69 over the phone, but that's because they didn't know that there was a new 2ds. When I came in, they realized their mistake and asked if they could keep my 2ds to give me a new quote. I agreed and on the same day, they texted me a new quote of $89 because the replacement parts were more expensive. It took about 2 weeks for my 2ds to be ready because they had to wait for the part to arrive and I believe that the special edition new 2ds' are more difficult to fix. I was actually worried if they could do it at all, but they did! This is the only place that fixes DS in San Jose that I'm aware of. I saved probably over $100 instead of buying a whole new 2ds. My Xbox 360 got the RROD and i found this place on yelp. The routine XBOX 360 RROD repair was listed on KT site as a 70$ fix. I could have opted for someone on craigslist to fix it for $35, but I figured a real shop and a 6 month warranty was worth the paying extra. Boy was I wrong, this ended up being the worst experience I've ever had with any business. Here's what happened: I brought my Xbox 360 to KT and had to wait 20 minutes in line just to drop it off, there weren't so many customers but they were so slow to help each one and process the queue. The next day KT calls me and tells me that he worked so hard on my system to get the rrod repaired but now the DVD has some problem not reading discs and wants another 20$ to fix it. I'm very suspect of this as I have never had dvd read problem with my system before the RROD, but I gave him benefit of the doubt and agreed to let him fix it and pay an additional 15$. I pick up that system the same day only to find that the DVD drive does not read any discs This is the same problem I just coughed up an additional 15$ to fix! I call up KT and let him know, he offered no apology and asks me to bring the system back. I get it back to him and he takes a day to fix dvd problem( he told me he had to swap the dvd instead of replacing the laser), this time I tried it at the shop to verify that the system actually read discs. I get home to play and find that wireless controller does not stay connected to the system for more than 2 min- I have to keep reconnecting. What a pain!. I play for about 30 min like this, and the system freezes! Now I'm really mad, instead of the familiar RROD, I had DVD problems, wireless disconnections, and freezing. Keep in mind this is not some used system I bought off ebay or craigslist, it was purchased new from Best Buy, one owner. I bring the system back for a third time, and let KT know that it's freezing and the wireless sync is broken. He keeps the systems for 2 days before telling me he can't fix the freeze problem and has to swap the system. He finally gets a system that matches my requirements, not banned, hdmi, and bricks the system while trying to move the dvd firmware to it. He says he was in a rush and messed up. He blames me saying he was so busy and I kept pressuring him to get it done. I want to tell him that his incompetence is not the customers problem, but manage to hold back. I tell KT that I want it fixed in 2 days or I want my money back, he tells me he has to give him until Saturday for more systems/parts to come in that matched my criteria. I'm thinking who's going to bring you parts? other customers? I call back on Saturday and he says he only has banned system that are hdmi and that I'd have to wait longer if i wanted an unbanned console. At this point, I've driven to his store 6 times and still have no working system. I chose to get my money back and buy a xbox 360 Slim. I got sick of waiting and the shop lost all my trust. Overall, I have to say my experience echoed another reviewer: I suspect KT is taking perfectly working parts out of systems to repair his/friends consoles and replacing them with broken parts that he charges the customer to fix. I'm not sure why, but that review is in the filtered section, which is a shame. Had i read that review first i would of never went to this shop! read more

I came in to replace the LCD screen and battery of my iPhone 7, and they were quick to fix it at a fair price. I got a call the next day to pick it up, and they even added a screen protector. I haven't used the phone in a long time, so I was a bit surprised to find out that the mic didn't work, so I returned to KT Electronics and they rediagnosed the problem free of charge and discovered that it was a motherboard issue. It wasn't worth it to replace the motherboard so, at this point I thought I was SOL, but one of the helpful workers there told me to give the boss Khung Tran a call in the morning. Khung helped me out and gave me a full refund on the repairs I've paid. Although I wasn't able to get my iPhone 7 working, the customer service I've received at KT Electronics far exceeded my expectations and I would definitely be back in the future. read more

First time doing the review thing. I hate that it has to be a negative one. Went in with high hopes after reading some of the reviews from Yelp. My PS3 was not ejecting Blu Rays. I go in and there are two girls behind the desk talking to each other(probably talking business, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt) so I had to stand there and wait. Before going in I had visited their website and got an idea of how much the problem was going to cost me. I asked one of the girls for a quote and without even looking at the PS3 she states $120(which is the highest quote they have for a PS3 fix) when their website clearly states only $60. I point this fact out to her and she yells to the back where another guy comes out and says "Oh yeah, it's only $60." There's some miscommunication going on here. I decided to go ahead and leave the PS3 but the girl at the front continued to give me random quotes for work that hadn't even been done yet. I told her my business was with the other guy(something she obviously did not like by the way she sneered and walked away.) I went to my car but didn't feel quite right about leaving my ps3 with these people. I searched for other electronic repair facilities and found The Cheap Squad. I decided to go back and take my ps3 back. I took it to The Cheap Squad instead. They know about customer service. That girl at the front desk at KT Electronics is going to cost them a lot of money. read more

I ranked this place a 1 star only because I was forced to. I would have given them ZERO if there was such an option. I came in (8/18/11) and dropped of my netbook for an LCD replacement. The guy there told me the owner is not in yet so just leave it and someone will call with a quote. Linh called me that afternoon and quoted me $120. I asked her to let me think about it and I will give her a call when I have made my decision. During the course of 4 hours, she called me 3 more times. Geez, isn't that a bit much? Can somebody say "stalker"? Finally when I decided to have them repaired it, I called Linh at 6:30pm and she informed me that the replacement was completed! What the heck! I never gave them permission! So since I've made up my mind, I just said whatever and came by the next morning to pay and pick it up. The same guy who helped me the first time said it wasn't done! OK, now I'm annoyed! How could there be so much mis-communication in such a small place. This ain't no corporation! Then to top things off, he gave me a different quote! WTF???!!! These asians need to get there head our of their butts! Overall, I hate this place and I wouldn't even send my enemies there. I rather deal with the GEEK SQUAD and pay a little more for better service. Let me clarify a few things with you on your owner response: 1. I picked up all 3 phone calls but 1. However, called back and was mis-informed it was completed. 2. I mentioned that I was quoted $120 but your staff said "no". He called you on the phone but failed to tell you I was quoted the wrong amount. 3. I was not hostile...just annoyed. If I was hostile, someome would have gotten their head chewed off. 4. Was enjoying a night sippin' on some wine and the darn thing just made its way into my MacBook. My laptop completely shut off, so I took it to the Apple store and those bastards quoted me $700. Attempting to seek out cheaper options, they advised me to go to one of their "authorized" stores and if I didn't, it would be possible that my computer wouldn't "fit together properly after". Those authorized guys says I'd be charged an $80 diagnostic fee, and my cost could run anywhere from $150-$500+. It was quite a range so I looked further. Found KT Electronic and they said it'd cost me a flat rate of $240--SWEET. I dropped it off and the guy working there was friendly. He said they'd call me if there would be any other additional charges and so I left my computer with them. Took about 3 days for them to repair it, and I did need my keyboard replaced (an extra $60) and they called me before they charged me anything extra. What gives this place 5 stars is the PHENOMENAL service. Apparently the guy who wrote up my ticket wrote the wrong price on the ticket ($180) and the workers noticed this when I came to pick up my repaired laptop. They were SUPER professional and didn't bicker about why I was misquoted, didn't even ask me to pay the normal price. And they're Vietnamese, and no offense as I'm Asian as well, but Asian people are so damn cheap!! Not these guys--they just said it was their error and I would pay what I was ticketed for. Thanks you guys! As for the quality/repair, my MacBook is back to normal. It performs at the same speed, turns on fine, and my keyboard fits in place (Apple bastards for saying parts wouldn't fit--HA). The screen did shut off once, but I just rebooted. Very shady place, I needed to have my itouch fixed, I had no idea what was wrong with it. But the owner is the person I talked to initially, he said he would take a look at it, quoted me a price of about $55 to replace the battery and said it would take 2-3 days to fix and give me a call when it was done. I never received a call from him and after a week I gave him a call and he said the motherboard was fried, okay fine, new quote was $155. The owner says it will take a week to fix, fine no problem as long as it gets done, told me he would give me call back. Over a week later I get a call from someone else saying a part they needed and it would take even longer to fix and they would give me a call when it was fixed. OKAY YET AGAIN, FINE! Just please give me a call when you are done! Yet another week passes and no phone call, I finally had to go to the shop and ask the owner khoung is his name where is my itouch? rather just humoring me and even pretending to look for it he says i dont know where it is, leave your name and number and i'll call you back. oh okay so i waited for over a month to have my itouch fixed and you dont even want to look for it because you're busy trying to rip another guy off to buy his mac book air for $500 that originally costs over $1,600. of course that takes priority!!! later on that day i get a call from a girl (who is rude as hell) and says my itouch is ready for pick up. okay finally thank you kt repair!!! I go pick up the itouch the next week and okay no apologies you only see on my receipt that it says my itouch would be ready in 2-3 days but i ended up getting it back over a month later, a simple i'm sorry it took so long would've be nice, i really dont think i was asking for too much. i very nicely pay for the itouch and take it home, oh this is where is story gets good, apparently i dont even get my itouch back i check the email and it has someones else's information preloaded (not to be racist but it was a mexican guys name and no one in that place looks mexican to me, but dont worry jaun i just rebooted the itouch so your information is safe) i also open up the safari browser and its loaded with the bangbro's website and other wholesome porn sites. what does this mean you may ask, oh they never even fixed MY ITOUCH!! they simply gave me someone else's. If they were going to do this at the end why didnt they just do it right away and save me a month of waiting? That is just common decency to do that for someone!! Our PS3 decided that the laser was going to die on us. We looked around and talked with some people and chose to bring it into KT Electronic Repair versus sending it to Sony. Once our decision was made, we went off to get it fixed. Upon walking in, we were greeted and explained what we believed happened. We were reassured that they were not going to "clean the laser" and that it would be replaced. This made me feel more comfortable with having them work on the console. There was an option to have it ready that same day, or wait until the next day, only a $15 difference, so we went with the same day. After about an hour, we were given a phone call to pick it up. Unfortunately we had an issue with our credit card (turns it was on our end not theirs) and once we paid, we went home. We got home, and this was not even ten minutes ago, plugged in our PS3 and wanted to try it out. We had a new problem, it would not even show up on the screen. I gave the store a call, and they walked me through resetting, which worked perfectly. They were calm and collected through the whole thing, and that makes us want to return again, hopefully not with our PS3, but with whatever else decides to keel over. Originally I wrote a...less than stellar review of KT Electronics. But after reviewing the whole situation, in addition to the end result of resolving my Xbox's issue, I'm bumping it up. One thing I can definitely say with confidence is that the owner, Khuong, really cares about his customers and making sure you leave happy. To make up for the small bumps in the road on the way to fixing my Xbox, he gave me $50 store credit! Jimmy, another employee there, was very cool and easy to talk to, which also speaks to this store's desire to make sure your decision to go there is a good one. Anyways, I came in with a broken Xbox 360, ended up with a new one, since the original was too damaged to fix. KT did their job. If you are going to go to this store to get whatever it is you need repaired, keep the following in mind: 1. Make sure you get a definite date on when the repairs will be done, to avoid any miscommunication or confusion. 2. Try to keep in contact with the store and know the status of your electronics that are being repaired. If you do those two things, you will certainly leave happy with the repairs and service. My laptop is pretty much the only other electronic I own, besides my Xbox, that would need any repairs, so if I need it repaired I will very likely go back to KT. I am extremely unsatisfied by the quality of their service. I bought an Ipod touch here the other day, and up to the point where I tested it out, it was good. Turns out the Ipod woudn't play music because there was something wrong with its sound system. I wasn't quite happy with that because for 1) they sell defect products, and 2) it shows me that they don't fully examine their products before selling them. No biggie, since I got 3 months warranty. I took it in an hour later and the guy exchanged it for a better working one (i.e. plays sound). He didn't even bother to do any paperwork for it, such as writing the serial number on the receipt, not even giving me a new receipt. So from there on, I thought of their service as "good" to "okay". Only because they live up to their word of fixing/exchanging products. But then when I was playing with the new ipod, I noticed another defect. Bad battery, and it wouldn't turn off. It would die out in like a day, and that's if I'm not using it too. I would hate to charge it EVERY TIME i use it, so I brought it back. They said that it will take them a day to fix, turns out it was about a week later until they finally called me. I came in, hoping to find my ipod finally fixed from all problems. That's when I saw Khuong. He talked to me about my ipod, told me that they fixed it. Turns out they didnt even fix it. When I showed him the problem about the ipod not turning off, the facial expression suspected me of foul play because the serial number on the ipod does not match the serial number on the initial receipt. Maybe that's because that one guy exchanged my old ipod for another one without doing any paperwork. He didn't even tried fixing it, or giving me any other options. He simply said "Can you live with this problem?" with the tone of voice as if he's talking to some retard. I simply left after that. I haven't reached modern-times in terms of some electronics. I still own a first generation iPod Nano that has served me well for workouts for the past 6 years. I'm also a firm believer of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." Call me cheap, I call it fiscally smart. My sister told me that she her iPod touch had died. it wouldn't hold a charge when she turned on the WiFi, and would die within minutes--even with a full charge. She had taken it to some not-to-be-named genius people ... at a bar .. and they told her that she needed to replace a part that was ~$200--or pretty much the cost of a new iPod. With that in mind, she decided to upgrade, and I asked her if could "inherit" her old one, and take it to someone outside of those people claiming to be "geniuses" to check out the problem. Enter my best friend named Yelp, and a search for iPod repair which lead me to KT Electronics. I brought the apparent dead iPod in for KT Electronic to take a look at. I told the guy at the front counter the issues that we were experiencing with the iPod and he said that it was something that he had never heard of happening, and that it may just be a case of the battery needing to be replaced. He said that it would be a flat fee of $70 for them to take a look at and to replace the battery with a 90 day guarantee. Great. Not $200 you genius people? Nice! Fast forward a few days later, and I received a call that the iPod was good to go and ready for pickup. It was holding a charge fine and the problem of not being able to connect to WiFi was solved, as well. Sweet. Now, I have caught up by 3 years and have a somewhat older iPod Touch to include into my electronics collection. All for 35% of the price that someone else quoted.
