I recommend to NEVER buy a used laptop from this establishment. I purchased an IBM Think Pad T30 from this business in early December 2007. After two days, the XP Operating System was causing error messages and the computer would not boot up. The business offers a 30 guarantee period. I took it back in and the OS was reinstalled. Days later, the same issue arose. I asked for a replacement laptop and after some hesitation, the owner agreed, since it was under the 30 day warranty period. Now that we've had the second laptop for 3 months, there is another issue with the OS. I took the laptop to the Geek Squad @ Best Buy and they said the issue is with the OS software and probably other bugs and errors within the computer. Unfortuantely, they charge $200 just to look at the laptop. Don't think so. I realize buying a used laptop is a risky proposition, but that was the reason I went with an IBM Think pad. You'd also think that this business would go through the laptop with a fine tooth comb, instead of just making it function for a short period of time. Went in for LCD replacement. Unfortunately, for my computer (macbook pro 2013) you cannot separately replace the LCD screen due to the assembly structure and I had to purchase the entire displace assembly-- basically an entire new screen. Long story short, Jose was nice enough to buy the LCD screen from me (rather than having to return it) and gave me a good deal on the replacement pricing. Once I got the entire display assembly (around $250 off ebay), Richard fixed my computer super fast, within 2 hours!! If I could give 0 stars, I would. These guys are crooks. They kept my laptop for 2 days and never even called to tell me what the status was with the repair. I stopped by the store to ask what was up, and the Vietnamese owner told me that they need to open up my laptop and replace the connection for the AC adaptor. He quoted $150 saying it would take hours of labor. When I asked for my laptop back, he demanded $40 for having kept my computer for 2 days. I had to cough up the dough to get my computer back! I plan on reporting these guys to the Better Business Bureau. I took my laptop to Fry's the next day, and the service guy tested the A/C adaptor while I waited. It turns out that the guy at FixLaptop.com was wrong when he said he needed to open up my laptop and replace the connection. Chris and Nick have helped me fix phones and or I have purchased cell phones from them. they are super helpful and nice and make sure you leave the store well served or at least more confident that your issues will be solved. they tell you when they need more time to fix issues. He got my backboard fixed that holds the hard drive within minutes. He also sold me a battery even though it was used since I hadn't had a battery for years now. Really professional and assuring. I was assured by three different people over a two week time period that all my legacy data and programs would be saved. I got back a computer that would only boot, open IE, and shutdown. All my legacy programs were erased, all favorites were erased, my 20 years of business data was erased, and all my drivers were erased. I had to go back to the store two times, and each time I was assured my data and programs would be saved. That did not happen. For this wonderful service, I was charged $74.
