These guys are great. It may not be obvious, but this small modest shop uses high end precise machines to automate operations, temperature, etc. and increase quality.--Very cool. No wobbly soldering irons and cheap materials here! I brought in an XBOX 360 with '3 rings of death', and they proved to be experts. I love that they are essentially reducing high tech waste--it's up to us to be responsible and make the effort to try repair vs. buying new. Keeps the $$ local too. My gut says these guys are in the best bet category for a successful outcome, give it a shot. Lots of pride in their work, they seem to want more challenging repairs!. Found KT electronics by googling. Had spoken to a few others in Craigslist, but none worked out (too far, or dont have part or meet me in parking lot). Frankly, there seems to be no other Nintendo DS repair facility in bay area or google /craigslist does not have it. Called them up, got a quote on the phone. Dropped on Fri eve and picked on Sat eve. Working fine now for a week. Great job. Also very friendly on the phone and face to face talk. Went there with my two boys and owner was nice to them too. Overall great experience. Will go again. EXCELLENT - I tried KT based on the YELP reviews, and I am so happy I did! I had knocked my MAC off the dining room table, crashing it to the floor and killing both it's wireless AND Ethernet capabilities. I brought it into KT, and he gave a preliminary diagnosis and estimate - wireless fix easy; Ethernet fix difficult/expensive - but he wouldn't know for sure until he took it apart and looked inside to see what else might be broken. He asked if I could live with just the wireless (a resounding YES!) and estimated 2-4 days. I left it there and got a call within 2 hours - "it's fixed and ready". He had replaced the wireless card, didn't find any other problems and charged me barely more than the cost of the card itself (he did give me the old card) with a 3 mos warranty. My MAC is working again and I couldn't be happier. read more

KT Electronics is the best! Last year I spilled coffee on my Macbook Pro computer. The apple store wanted an insane amount of money to even look at. I found KT Electronics online and sent them my computer all the way from Los Angeles. It was fixed and returned in no time and at a cost that was more than fair. Recently my computer started acting up again so I took it to a little Mac Computer store near where I live. (Being a small business owner I try to support small business as much as I can). My local store charged me $150 just too look at it and then reported it needed $1800 in parts to repair it - more than a new computer costs. I sent it up to KT Electronics and they fixed it in no time - all it needed was a new battery. Don't waste your time or money with other shops - just send your repairs to KT. After Apple refused to service my latptop because of how old it was and many hours of researching and trying to find a means to repair/replace my logic board on my own or by someone else, I ran into KT Electronics website and decided to give them a try. I messed up my son's Nintendo DS while trying to change the case. The damn thing would no longer power up so I was stuck. I had the options of enjoying my newly created paperweight, going out and buying a new one ($130 + tax), or try and get this one repaired. I opted to try and get this one repaired however finding someone reputable wasn't too easy until I turned to Yelp. I found KT Electronic Repair as a good source but I was very skeptical about their 24-48 hour turnaround. I naturally assumed I would receive the switch and bait once I arrived. I thought I'd hear the old, "Sir the repairs required on this device are more expensive and time consuming then what we quoted you on the phone" or perhaps the, "It's so close to Christmas that repairs are taking us 2-3 weeks." I was relieved to find that they stood true to their slogan which was they'd return it in working condition in 1-2 days. In fact, I picked them up two days before Christmas. I thought I throw them for a loop by bringing in another DS for repairs at the same time but they returned both within 48 hours. Customer Service was EXCELLENT. KT (owner) is on-site and ensures every customer is happy. One would think that with as much volume as these guys have they might not give as much attention to each customer but I was wrong. They make sure to explain the problem, repair procedure, and inform you of the 3-month warranty. I was even able to buy a new case for the second DS from them. In fact, at my request, they even mix-matched parts from the black case and green case to give both DS's a multi-colored unique look. My son has been receiving several compliments on his VERY UNIQUE Nintendo DS. My PS3 stopped reading discs of any kind, though it still booted up. Based on some searches, the laser had failed. Found this place, brought it in, and it was ready the next day. I even called before hand to check and see it was ready. The person I talked to was out of the office and said he would call me back. Which he promptly did and told me my system would be ready by 1:30. Nice customer service, considering the number of places that would just blow you off about something like that. The 3 month warranty on their work also provides some nice peace of mind. The parking is on the lousy side, since they are working out of a residential house on a fairly busy street, but when I picked up my system, the guy I talked to said they planned on moving to the Alum Rock area soon to a place with much better parking. read more

I really like these guys. I brought in my ipod 2 months ago with a lock problem which actually turned out to be the motherboard. It wasn't cheap to fix, but, you know, it would be more expensive to replace. Two months later, I had the same problem! I brought it back to KT and, they fixed it again, at a discount. All the while, they were in contact. "It may be this, we're checking. It's this, we're ordering the part; it will be x number of days. It's done, come on down!" I guess you could say, well, why was there a recurring problem. I bought a problematic generation ipod. My problem; verified this fact independent of KT. If I have problems with the ipod again, or computer, or whatever electronic, I will go back. I will refer my friends, etc. read more

I took my sons 4th Gen ipod touch in for screen replacement. New screen was immaculate and ipod looked like new. Wait was about 2.5 hours. Took it home to charge and noticed the next day that the ipod wouldn't power on at all, or charge. I brought it back in and they took a look at it and finally asked for a couple days to troubleshoot it. I picked it up today and it turned on fine and all data is still intact. The work done was very professional. The customer service at both times was excellent. Both of the women that I dealt with at the desk were very personable and polite. When I brought it back in to check on the power issue, one of the male staff came out the the waiting area and talked to me and requested the additional couple days to figure the problem out. He was also very polite and professional, talked directly to me with good eye contact and shook my hand before I headed out. I will be recommending KT Electronic Repair to others because of the great service and support. I came here to get my ps3 fixed, since it got the "yellow light of death" and overheated. In the process, my ps3 also wouldn't eject one of my dvds, so I took it to KT Electronic Repair. I told them to call back after they diagnosed the problem and before they actually fixed the ps3, just in case the price wasn't worth the fix. However, when they called, they had already fixed the ps3. Fortunately, the lady I spoke to was really nice, and she deducted $10 off my fee. Because there was a dvd inside my ps3, the employee I first spoke to assured me that the technicians would tape the dvd onto my ps3 once the ps3 was fixed. But when I returned to the store to pick up my ps3, the employees could not find my dvd. This dvd I actually borrowed from the library, which made the whole situation a lot more complicated and bothersome. One of the employees even suggested that I look for the dvd at home, which was beyond ridiculous, considering my ps3 had swallowed that dvd. As a result of this mess, I now have to pay the library the cost of the dvd to replace it plus a $10 transaction fee. The dvd was also part of a tv series set (3 dvds), so it's not just any $10 dvd--I have to pay the library to replace the whole dvd set. Although KT Electronic Repair did deduct an additional 50 bucks off my fee, they made what could've been a simple, straightforward ps3 fix into a major mess. I lack my original dvd due to their lack of organizational and communication skills, and I have to pay the library around $40 to replace a dvd set because of a dvd that really should not have been lost. read more

They fixed my Macbook Pro 2011 which had water-damaged logic board for mere $250 when other places asked $800 for the same repair. These guys rock! It's also nice to have business with people who actually do *real* repair and not just swap the new component and tell you that they "fixed it" (like MyService does for example) and then charge you for full price of that component. I'll give 4 stars though for mediocre website with unusable tracking and not letting me know that repair was taking longer than they originally said. Laptop Trade In: This is a good place to start if you're looking to upgrade from an older laptop or just looking for something different. I was very pleased to find Kt Electronics ad on Craigslist, but I was skeptical. Last year I paid a little under 1k for my HP laptop but I wanted something smaller for school. Kt Electronics lets you text the owner so you can have an idea of what you're getting into (+1). I told KT exactly what I wanted and went into the shop a few days later. He offered my exactly what I estimated my laptop to be worth, and added a little extra for the trade in(+1). I traded my HP in for a Macbook Pro, which was in perfect condition (+1). I paid a small amount for an amazing laptop for school which is exactly what I needed! They also did a file transfer of all my music but forgot my pictures which I was a little disappointed about (Still +1). The only reason i'm reluctant to give 5 stars is because i'm a computer nerd and I would have paid more for a nicer macbook -- 15 inches with maybe an i3, but he didn't have the inventory for it at the time (-1). I also didn't like the other choices but i'm very picky. Other than that the customer service was great, and KT is very very friendly and honest! Overall a 4/5 experience :D read more

These people are so crooked they make politicians look like Mother Teresa. For IPod repair they give a maximum amount, which they charged me but the right side would not work.
